Hey Poptropicans, you donโt have to wait much longer for a new Poptropica story, a wintry side-quest teased just last week. The Creators announced that it drops tomorrow! (This post has been updated with a new sneak peek since it was published.)
Sneak peek from the Creatorsโ Blog. Looks like they could be villagers who live in the village scene depicted last week!
As Poptropica shared before, this is going to be a limited time event with a new story and new characters. Youโll also get to win special prizes!
And this week, they threw in a couple more details too: โLook for your starting point on Home Island and help solve the mystery.โ So now we know thereโs going to be a riddle on our hands!
UPDATE: The Creators shared another sneak peek for the upcoming side-quest on Instagram! Looks like weโll be delivering a Grapple-Pap to Clareta tomorrow…
โAn old man has asked you to deliver a Grapple-Pap gift to his sister in a far off land.โ
Stay tuned to the PHB too โ weโll be here tomorrow to share all you need to know with a guide to this new adventure. Be sure to check out the post below, too, to catch up on what else is going on in the Poptropica community this week! Pop on, Poptropicans. โ๏ธ
Hey Poptropicans, this is a guest post by Mud Bub, whoโll be sharing a gallery of masks from throughout the Poptropica universe.Mask on!
Poptropica may have recently given us new face masks for this pandemic season (and more recently for winter),โ but this is by no means the first time masks have been introduced to the game.
A sampling of some of Poptropica’s trendy face masks in 2020.
Many a time in our Poptropica adventures, we use masks and similar facial coverings as disguises, protection, or just for the fun of it! They can be found virtually anywhere, much more than we think. Enjoy this gallery of various masks throughout Poptropica!
Whether from Medicine Man from the nostalgic Shark Tooth Island, to fandom fanatics at PoptropiCon, or from ninjas to warriors to the modern-day superhero, all Poptropicans are bound to have embraced the versatility of masks at some point or another.
Even fan artists got in on the masking fun a few months ago in September’s Community Creations here on the PHB. Masks can truly be functional and fashionable!

Hey Poptropicans, it’s been a long time coming, but a new Poptropica story is finally on its way to our game screens!
The Creators’ Blog put out a sneak peek this week featuring a snowy village scene with a house adorned with holiday decorations, including pillars by the door featuring what appears to be Krampus, the horned Christmastime demon of European legend.
The Creators added that they’ve been “putting in some extra hours to make a fun side-quest experience forย all players,” promising an “all-new story and all-new characters.”
While it won’t be a full island, we know fans have been eager for more storytelling from Poptropica, so this is exciting! But like recent adventures such as Hoptropica, this wintry tale will be a limited time experience, so stick around Pop this holiday season to find out what it’s about. What are your theories on these frosted window panes?
Speaking of the holidays, the 12 Days of Member Gifts continue to rain down the goodies with various winter items: Winter PJs (Day 9), Cool Winter Outfit (Day 10), and Cool Winter Boots (Day 11).
Remember that you can get all 12 prizes if you become a member at any point this December. See what else members have been getting on the Creators’ Blog, and stay tuned for the twelfth and final gift!
The Creators have been keeping up with their promise of sharing a “Video of the Week,” and in this fourth week of the series, they’ve shared a video from TikTok that “made the whole Poptropica Creators team laugh pretty hard.”
Good day Poptropicans! Hope you’re staying safe and cozy as the holiday season arrives. Speaking of arrivals, the retro-style minigame event we’ve been waiting for is here, and it’s finally got a name: Hoptropica!
Hoptropica leaps onto the first page of the island map and is free for all to play. But it’s only here for a limited time, so you’d better hop to it!
As you can see on the title screen above, the first step is to choose your furry doctor: classic Dr. Hare orโwhat’s this?โthe delightful Dr. Beev is here too as a playable character. What a welcomed surprise! Once you have selected your character, it’s time to hop into the game.
The game’s premise and controls are pretty simple: just click above your character in the direction you want to hop (or use the left and right arrow keys), and try to go as high as you can before time runs out!
Of course, simple doesn’t always mean easy. Along the way, you’ll encounter both tricky platforms and helpful items. Here’s a guide:
Helpful items to pick up
๐ Clock – Grants additional time
โญ๏ธ Star – Grants even more time! (more than the clock)
Know your platforms
Pink/Green – Disappears and reappears (time your jumps!)
Ridged – Think fast, this platform falls if you stand on it for too long!
Clear – Can’t jump on this platform, it’s technically invisible
Spiked – Avoid jumping on this platform or you’ll get spiked!
Turn up the volume for a jaunty tune as you hop through the colorful pixel heavens! Hoptropica is visually appealing, fairly addictive, and fun to play, so enjoy it while it’s here. And if you’re really good, you might want to post your high score on social media with the hashtag #hoptropica for a chance to be featured by the Poptropica Creators!
Can’t get enough 8-bit Beev and Hare? The Creators also announced brand new stickers on their Zazzle merch store! Joining the handful of stickers from before are our new 8-bit buddies as well as the icons of islands already ported to Haxe, plus fan favorite Monster Carnival and under-the-radar Mission Atlantis.
They’re available for US$4.95 each, and Zazzle is also offering 15% off right now with the code ZHURRY4GIFTS. Browse Poptropica stickers here!
All right, I’m off to play some more Hoptropica. Stay safe and stay awesome!
Hey there, Poptropicans! First things first: another week has flashed by, and that means another store rotation! Thereโs not a whole lot of new items this time around, but the costume section has got a few cool outfits added. Letโs take a look!
The newest items added this week include:
Sunny Sport, Tie-Dye Hoodie, Rock Star (male & female), Elf Costume*
The Little Candy Cane, which remains in the store from last weekโs rotation, is oddly showed in both the Power section and the Costume section. Strange, but the more candy canes, the merrier!
The store isnโt the only place to find fun new gear, as 12 Days of Member Gifts festivities are still going strong! For Day 7, Poptropica members received the fabulousโand ever so slightly ridiculousโSnowflake Costume! Just perfect for winter.
Blend in with your wintry surroundings…
Or, if sporting the giant snowflake look is too cold for you, thereโs always the option to take the warmer route and bundle up in a Cozy Seater (Day 8)! (Perhaps they meant โSweaterโ?)
…or just cozy up instead.
Once youโve finished your holiday shopping, maybe pop on over to the newest ad: Spirit: Riding Freeis available to play on Home Island, or you can access it through the in-between scenes on any island.
Get ready to ride!
The ad doesnโt involve much; all youโre asked to do is watch a short trailer video, and youโre given two themed prizes. The prizes are Luckyโs Racing Gear and Free Spirit! Check out what happens when you tap the space bar on that second item…
