Bundle up, friends! The merry times for members continue with the next batch in the 12 Days of Member Gifts. Stay warm with the Charming Winter Outfit and Charming Winter Boots (Day 5)!
And adding to Poptropica’s collection of pandemic related items are Sweet Sanitizers on Day 6! These handheld bottles come in three styles: strawberry, watermelon, pineapple. (That last one might even save you from any future Zomberry attacks.)
Remember, you can become a member anytime during the month of December to get all the 12 Days of Member Gifts and have one last chance to play all the classic islands on Flash before it’s gone by the end of 2020! Speaking of which (this one’s for non-members too)…
We’re having a Poptropica party to commemorate the end of Flash and celebrate the holidays. Come join us in two weeks, on Saturday, December 19 at 8 pm EST on the PHC and in Poptropica common rooms for our “Gone in a Flash” Holiday Party!
Hey Poptropicans. As 2020 comes to an end, it’s time to say goodbye to Flash, the technology that Poptropica has been running on since its beginning in 2007, which is being replaced by Poptropica on Haxe.
But we here at the PHB couldn’t let it go without a bang! And as the holidays draw near, we figure the timing’s good for a Poptropica party. So join us and let’s commemorate the occasion as our accessibility to years of Poptropica memories will soon be “gone in a Flash”!
โฐ When:Saturday, December 19 @ 8 pm Eastern / 7 pm Central / 6 pm Mountain / 5 pm Pacific (for all other time zones, check this time converter). In some parts of the world, it may be Sunday morning, December 20. Save the date!
๐ Where: Hanging out in Poptropicaโs common rooms on Mythology and 24 Carrot Islandโwe’ll try to meet on both Flash and Haxe, though whether Flash stays accessible can’t be guaranteed! Your best bet on where to find the party is to stay with us on our Discord server, the PHC โ a fun, safe chat space where PHB staff and other Poptropicans regularly hang out. Itโs open anytime, so come on in!
๐ฅ Why: To give one last hurrah for Flash, the engine that’s sustained Poptropica for over a decade. And to celebrate the holidays!
While Poptropica is working on bringing over many beloved classic islands from Flash to the new era of Haxe, and have already been making some progress, some things are still going to look different. We’re hopeful for the future of Poptropica, but the transition is definitely a milestone โ one that we’d like to commemorate with you.
So bring your nostalgic tears, your anticipatory fears, and temper that with your gratitude for all the years and a fair bit of holiday cheers, too. We’ll see you there as the game changes gears! ๐ฅณ
Hey, everyone! The Pop Creators are continuing to thank their members during the “12 Days of Member Gifts” event. We already saw the first set of December gifts, so now let’s take a look at the new stuff so far!
On the second day of December, Poptropica gave members a gift fitting of 2020: Winter Masks. These festive face masks let players be fashionable in the game as well as remind them to stay safe IRL.
On the third day, members received the ultra cool Snowmobile, which can travel on any island whether or not it’s snowing. And most recently, on the fourth day, members met the short and stout Snowman Follower. Great additions to Pop’s collection of member gifts.
Moving on from member gifts, let’s take a look at some sneak peeks and shout-outs. Over on Instagram, Poptropica shared a new sneak peek for the near-complete Dr. Hare minigame. The video clip below shows some gameplay accompanied by a jazzy upbeat tune. In regards to the game’s title, the Creators have narrowed the list down to two names and will reveal the official title next week.
But enough about Dr. Hare. Let’s talk about Dr. Beev! The latest entry in the “Video of the Week” series is a speedpaint video by Pop fan artist Birdie Bea. Watch her draw this cool poster based on the fandom’s favorite animal-themed scientist.
That’s all for now. What do you think of the December gifts so far? What do you think the new Dr. Hare minigame will be called? Would you be interested in a Dr. Beev minigame in the future? Let us know in the comments below.
Hey Poptropicans! As promised earlier, Poptropica is back with 12 Days of Member Gifts, a December tradition that began in 2018.
The first day of December brings members a winter clubhouse bundle which contains a chocolate fountain, cozy fireplace, and cute white pompom wreath. Look for these items in “Decorate” mode!
If you get a membership at any point in December (perhaps as a holiday present?), you can get all of the 12 Days of Member Gifts! The gifts will automatically be added to your account if you’re a member, the Creators’ Blog confirmed. They will also be updating this other post to share what member gifts are being given in the next couple of weeks, so check back there (or the PHB!) for updates.
Non-members, we’ve got something for you too! We’ve updated our list of glitching tools to include a few new ones: Beat ‘Em All and Card Collector developed by Dangerous Icicle, and Poptro-Closet by supersiu. They’re just what they sound like. We won’t say too much about them here, but you can find out more on our Glitching page!
Collect all the island medallions with Beat ‘Em All!
What else is going on this month in the Poptropica fandom?
๐ Now that we’re into December, time is ticking for the Design Your Dream Island Contest! Submissions are still being taken now up until December 18, a little over two weeks away. Send your ideas here!
โ๏ธ December’s theme for Community Creations is “Fire & Ice.” As always, we look forward to your masterpieces!
๐ฅณ Stay tuned for details of a Poptropica party soon! The PHB is cooking up an event to celebrate the holiday season and say goodbye to Flash, and we’d love to have you there. In the meantime, our PHC Discord server is always up for a good time among Poptropica fans.
That’s all for this post. Cue the holiday season! ๐โจ๐ฏ
Hello once again everyone! Spotted Dragon here bringing you the November recap for Community Creations! November’s theme was Pirates (and the featured work is not in any particular order). Be sure to check out all the featured artists!
Ahoy, Poptropicans! Right away, the energy in this submission is fantastic. The ships on either side of Captain Crawfish center him quite well, and the swinging rope shows a strong sense of movement. The colors and line work are beautiful, and I love the energy coming from all (but one?) of the characters. Excellent composition! Find her Twitter here.
The High Seas of Skullduggery by birdie-bea
Ooooh, quite the dramatic lighting in this piece! The deep shadows are lovely, especially when paired with that red glow from the ship and the light casting from the moon. I like that the juxtaposition of the vessels is really the star of the show here, instead of a specific character, because what’s a pirate’s life without a ship to captain? I’m taken back to my early days on Skullduggery, sailing that measly little raft for what felt like years against the grand Sea Chicken. Find his DeviantArt here.
It’s a Pirate’s Life for Me by Lucky Joker
Avast! What a mighty crew we have here! Aside from a captain’s ship, a captain’s trusty crew is also a major part of a pirate’s life. Without these fine fellas, I don’t think the Phoenix Warbird would be as mighty. But anyway, I love the proud, sturdy stances of the characters and the distinct, line-focused coloring style. Makes for a strong lineup! Find his DeviantArt here.
Pirate Confrontation by Midnightoilstudios
Yikes! Looks like we have a stand off! More than anything, the diagonal composition is quite nice. Such a line creates a strong sense of movement or energy, perfect for this battle scene. Yet these pointy lines reinforced by the sword and wooden post are well balanced by soft, ephemeral colors. I also like the simultaneous contrast (like in their color schemes) and unity (like in the detail of skulls) between the characters. Wonderful work! Find her DeviantArt here.
Busch Borrower: Pirate of the Forest by Sporty Boa
Ah, now here’s a unique a formidable foe of a pirate! If you recall the PHB’s Heroes & Villains themed Halloween Costume Contest this year, then you just might recognize this woodland adversary. Though not exactly a pirate of the seas, there are plenty of other characters who can live up to the title of pirate! The flat color blocking is quite sharp, and the green color scheme works perfectly with the characters. And those eyes are giving me chills! Aw, but just look at that bird. Find him on Discord and his posts here on the PHB.

In case youโre a little out of the loop, I work for an adventure group called Poptropica. The majority of my adventures involve time travel, by which I am capable of with a small, bronze pocket watch; and all of them include my large, state-of-the-art yellow blimp with the word โPoptropicaโ inscribed all across. So everyone knew who I was with as soon as I landed (crashed.) Which isnโt always the best strategy… READ MORE

December: How Do I Participate?
Community Creations is a cool series for anyone in the Poptropica community to join in on. To sum up what itโs about, itโs basically a chance to show off your artwork, creepy fan-fics, Pop clubhouses, costumes, and anything else that pops into your mind.
If we really like the piece you submit, we will feature it here on the PHB! As long as it relates to that monthโs theme. So what is December’s theme? December’s theme isโฆ
Fire & Ice!
With the holiday season approaching, half of the world will soon be in the midst of cold winter weather, while the other half enters into a hot summer. So why not celebrate best of both worlds this month? The icey side of our theme is perfect for any winter wonderland type creations, which I’m sure many of you were already planning on making in December!
From the fire and ice planets of Astro-Knights Island, to the hot summer and cold winter of Wimpy Boardwalk Island and Wimpy Wonderland Island, these contrasting concepts of fire and ice pop up all over Poptropica! So, it’s up to you to pick one or the other (or both!) and get creating!
