Poptropica may have recently given us new face masks for this pandemic season (and more recently for winter), but this is by no means the first time masks have been introduced to the game.

Many a time in our Poptropica adventures, we use masks and similar facial coverings as disguises, protection, or just for the fun of it! They can be found virtually anywhere, much more than we think. Enjoy this gallery of various masks throughout Poptropica!

Whether from Medicine Man from the nostalgic Shark Tooth Island, to fandom fanatics at PoptropiCon, or from ninjas to warriors to the modern-day superhero, all Poptropicans are bound to have embraced the versatility of masks at some point or another.

Even fan artists got in on the masking fun a few months ago in September’s Community Creations here on the PHB. Masks can truly be functional and fashionable!

Hey Poptropicans, it’s been a long time coming, but a new Poptropica story is finally on its way to our game screens!

The Creators’ Blog put out a sneak peek this week featuring a snowy village scene with a house adorned with holiday decorations, including pillars by the door featuring what appears to be Krampus, the horned Christmastime demon of European legend.

The Creators added that they’ve been “putting in some extra hours to make a fun side-quest experience for all players,” promising an “all-new story and all-new characters.”

While it won’t be a full island, we know fans have been eager for more storytelling from Poptropica, so this is exciting! But like recent adventures such as Hoptropica, this wintry tale will be a limited time experience, so stick around Pop this holiday season to find out what it’s about. What are your theories on these frosted window panes?

Speaking of the holidays, the 12 Days of Member Gifts continue to rain down the goodies with various winter items: Winter PJs (Day 9), Cool Winter Outfit (Day 10), and Cool Winter Boots (Day 11).

The Creators have been keeping up with their promise of sharing a “Video of the Week,” and in this fourth week of the series, they’ve shared a video from TikTok that “made the whole Poptropica Creators team laugh pretty hard.”

It’s a 10-second clip that pairs the song “Old Town Road” with Elmer the horse on Wild West Island. Check it out on the Creators’ Blog!

Last but not least, reminders for a couple big things next week: 1) the deadline for Poptropica’s Design Your Dream Island Contest comes up this Friday, Dec 18; and 2) the PHB is putting on a Poptropica party to pay tribute to the end of Flash and celebrate the holidays this Saturday, Dec 19. Bundle up, friends! The merry times for members continue with the next batch in the 12 Days of Member Gifts. Stay warm with the Charming Winter Outfit and Charming Winter Boots (Day 5)!

Hey Poptropicans. As 2020 comes to an end, it’s time to say goodbye to Flash, the technology that Poptropica has been running on since its beginning in 2007, which is being replaced by Poptropica on Haxe.

But we here at the PHB couldn’t let it go without a bang! And as the holidays draw near, we figure the timing’s good for a Poptropica party. So join us and let’s commemorate the occasion as our accessibility to years of Poptropica memories will soon be “gone in a Flash”!

⏰ When: Saturday, December 19 @ 8 pm Eastern / 7 pm Central / 6 pm Mountain / 5 pm Pacific (for all other time zones, check this time converter). In some parts of the world, it may be Sunday morning, December 20. Save the date!
📍 Where: Hanging out in Poptropica’s common rooms on Mythology and 24 Carrot Island—we’ll try to meet on both Flash and Haxe, though whether Flash stays accessible can’t be guaranteed! Your best bet on where to find the party is to stay with us on our Discord server, the PHC — a fun, safe chat space where PHB staff and other Poptropicans regularly hang out. It’s open anytime, so come on in!
💥 Why: To give one last hurrah for Flash, the engine that’s sustained Poptropica for over a decade. And to celebrate the holidays!

While Poptropica is working on bringing over many beloved classic islands from Flash to the new era of Haxe, and have already been making some progress, some things are still going to look different. We’re hopeful for the future of Poptropica, but the transition is definitely a milestone — one that we’d like to commemorate with you.

So bring your nostalgic tears, your anticipatory fears, and temper that with your gratitude for all the years and a fair bit of holiday cheers, too. We’ll see you there as the game changes gears! 🥳

Hey Poptropicans! As promised earlier, Poptropica is back with 12 Days of Member Gifts, a December tradition that began in 2018.

The first day of December brings members a winter clubhouse bundle which contains a chocolate fountain, cozy fireplace, and cute white pompom wreath. Look for these items in “Decorate” mode!

If you get a membership at any point in December (perhaps as a holiday present?), you can get all of the 12 Days of Member Gifts! The gifts will automatically be added to your account if you’re a member, the Creators’ Blog confirmed. They will also be updating this other post to share what member gifts are being given in the next couple of weeks, so check back there (or the PHB!) for updates.

Non-members, we’ve got something for you too! We’ve updated our list of glitching tools to include a few new ones: Beat ‘Em All and Card Collector developed by Dangerous Icicle, and Poptro-Closet by supersiu. They’re just what they sound like. We won’t say too much about them here, but you can find out more on our Glitching page!
