Hello Poptropicans! We have a bit of store-related news, as well as some more fanart features on Instagram and the August costume contest!
Naturally with the Olympics hype there is bound to be some sports-related goods up, and this month in the Poptropica Store is the new Speedy Cycler costume. There are also several classic costumes and more recent ones, including the Spring Floral Dress, Barbarian Warrior, and the epic Acidic Dinosaur!!! ๐ฆ
You have no clue how much I wanted this to be my Poppies outfit
Speedy Cycler. Cool but is it a NEON DINOSAUR?
The Creators also included a reference to a certain… let’s just say a speedy cycling incident in their blog post.
On the subject of costumes, the Monthly Costume Contest has returned for August! So, if you ever get a good idea that you would like to see in-game, don’t be afraid to show off your creativity! It’s quite epic to see fan-made creations in game, and itโs always good to practice your drawing and design skills!
In case you missed it earlier, Creators also posted a video on their official YouTube channel featuring past submissions from July’s contest:
To conclude, here are four fantastic fanarts shared on the Creators’ Instagram stories. We have one very impressive Pop OC, and three great colored pages from the Poptropica fan-produced coloring book!
Hello, everyone! It’s time check out some new Poptropica updates regarding drawing, interior decorating, and kidnapping. Need context for that last sentence? Keep on reading!
First, the Creators announced a new mini quest coming to Poptropica. While they didn’t say much regarding the story, they did gladly share a thumbnail sketch. It shows Amelia and a black cat taking a selfie while two other characters are in the middle of a magical baking mishap.
The woman with curly hair and glasses looks familiar. In fact, her likeness is featured alongside Amelia and (formerly) Xavier on a set of statues on Home Island. It looks like we’ll finally get to learn the identity of this studious sorceress. ๐งโโ๏ธ๐
Five new furnishings have graced the clubhouse store! Players can decorate their virtual homes with a Poptropica flag (100 credits), a set of lighting panels (75 credits), a summer wreath (150 credits), and an oil diffuser (100 credits). Meanwhile, members can make their clubhouses extra colorful with the LED fan (150 credits). Here’s a picture I took of the new items in my clubhouse.
A new video showed up on the official Poptropica TikTok account, but it also made an appearance in Pop’s latest Instagram story. This new video highlights some of the more problematic elements of our favorite villains, particularly the fact that they all share kidnapping tendencies. Here are a few stills as an example.
Last and certainly not least, Golden Wolf returned to the Creators’ Blog to share more of her art. In her latest guest post, GW showcased fan art of myself, PHB founder Slanted Fish, and fellow writer Smart Icicle! Thank you so much, Golden Wolf! โค๏ธ๐ฅฐโค๏ธ๐ฅฐ
GW also mentioned that, every month, she will draw an anime character as a Poptropican and share it on her future guest posts. As an example, she drew Sakura Haruno from Naruto, which was featured in Poptropica’s July Costume Contest video compilation. Which anime character do you want to see drawn in the Poptropica style?
That’s all I have for you today. What do you think the new mini quest will be about? Which villains should be called out next? Let us know in the comments below!
The COVID-19 pandemic may have cancelled many events, but better late than never on the recent 2020 Tokyo Olympics! Its return makes this next Island Flash-back quite appropriate for the sportful season…
Poptropolis Games!!
An official poster made for the island’s re-release
From a fandom standpoint, this island doesn’t seem to be as well-known or well-loved on the surface. There’s little fanart of characters or scenes compared to others such as Counterfeit or Monster Carnival. But look a little deeper and you will see how much this island has incorporated itself into fandom culture and events!
Concept sketches for the island’s scenery
Power Lifting, Poptropolis Games
Even after disappearing from the official game, fans continue to identify themselves by the Poptropolis Tribes. A year ago, the PHB hosted the 2020 Tribal Tournament, in which community members could win points for their respective tribes!

Octopus Volleyball, Poptropolis Games
Another noteworthy thing is the music: the Poptropolis theme is easily one of my favorites from the game. Hear it below, and more on the PHB’s Behind the Scenes page! (You can also hear it on composer Jeff Heim’s “Poptropica Demo Reel 1” starting at about 43 seconds.)
A bit of trivia for those who were not playing during or before 2012: This island was originally released as a “classic” island with no sound, and came out in June of that year, timed near the London Olympics. To many a player’s surprise, the island “sank” and was removed in early 2013, but eventually was “risen” after an event that encouraged players to help “dig up the games.”

So let’s dig up the games again! Poptropolis Games and other classic islands were rendered unplayable in the Flash-Haxe transition, but it should not go to waste! Let the Creators know what you appreciate about the island to encourage them to preserve it!
Hey everyone! In this post, I’m going to be diving into the murky realm of guesswork known as dream analysis.
While not always accurate, dream analysis offers insight into different types of dreams and what they mean. And thanks to Super Villain Island, we’ve got rare peeks into the subconscious minds of Poptropica’s four most infamous villains: Dr. Hare, Black Widow, Binary Bard, and Captain Crawfish. Your dreams can say a lot about you…what do they say about the Main Four? Let’s take a look!
Note: Each dream contains two viewpoints, one from the villain’s perspective and one from the player’s. In this series,we’ll only be focusing on the villain’s viewpoint.
First up, we have our half-rabbit scientist buddy, Dr. Hare! For those of you who aren’t as familiar with the events of Super Villain, Hare’s dream involves being carried into an anthill and kept in an underground room at the bottom for the remainder of the dream.
A recurring dream? ๐
So, what does dreaming of being kidnapped by ants supposedly symbolize? Dreams of being kidnapped and held hostage both indicate feeling powerless or unable to change the circumstances. Ants on the other hand can represent annoyances, issues, or distractions in waking life.
Something that comes to mind when I think of Hare being unable to change the circumstances is the time he unwisely placed the player in control of his rabbot at the end of 24 Carrot Island, and was promptly crushed by incoming asteroids. That’s certainly an annoyance.
Maybe choose your driver more carefully next time.
Another notable aspect of Hare’s Super Villain dream is the ant queen, seated beside Hare in her underground throne room as hundreds of ant servants rush to and fro through the hill.
Queens and royalty commonly symbolize praise, respect, and accomplishments. Hare certainly is an accomplished person; not everyone devises a brilliant scheme to mind control the entire world by way of an enormous rabbot machine! Ignoring the fact that his scheme ultimately failed. Ahem.
One more observation I’ll mention is the size of this dream world. Just look how huge those carrots are! Being tiny in a dream — or maybe Hare was normal sized, and everything else was enormous, either way — likely ties into the feeling of powerlessness already suggested by being kidnapped.
I’d hazard a guess that Hare is reliving the unfortunate (for him, that is) events of 24 Carrot Island within his dream. Feeling that sense of accomplishment upon finishing his mind control device, only to be foiled and trapped by the player, taken out of control and lost into deep space! Except…in the dream, it’s apparently the other way around. And it’s with ants. ๐
ANTS
That’s all for this post, folks! Stay tuned for my next three dream interpretation attempts coming soon, starring the artsy Black Widow, the mighty Captain Crawfish, and the genius Binary Bard!
Hey Poptropicans, this is aย guest postย byย Invisible Ring.ย Enjoy!
Hey guys. Just chillinโ against this wall here. This is it. Looks like I made it to the final zone of my Worlds clubhouse: the most mysterious, spookiest, and unpredictable zone thatโs been giving me the chills since the beginning. Iโll try to keep it cool as best I can, but on the inside, Iโm really freakinโ out. But I guess the only way to face this fear and kill the suspense is to open that door, so here goes nothing…
INVISIBLE RING: Oh noโฆ Itโs an invasion! Thereโs an army of robots in my room! …Thatโs it, Iโm outta here! I shouldnโt have come! …wait a minute, how did all of these robots even get here?
ROBOTS:ย Scanning… Facial recognition confirmed. Welcome, Invisible Ring. We are at your command.
RING: O-kaayโฆ. Whatโs going on here?
Robots: Scanners indicate that Invisible Ring does not recognize us. Elapsed time since Invisible Ringโs last visit in this room is three years. Humans are subject to all-but-core memory loss within this time span. Let us refresh your memory and show you around, Invisible Ring.
RING: Ok. Thanks, robots!
RING: Heyโฆ Nice game room! Is this where you hung out all this time I was gone?
ROBOTS: Affirmative. Entertainment levels here are pleasantly high. We could stay in here forever if we wanted to… Do you want to play Space Complainers?
RING: If itโs all the same to you, I think I would rather continue the tour.
RING: Whoa! What is THIS called?
ROBOTS:ย The hotline center, where we make our most urgent calls. …Hello? Pizza to go?
RING: Youโve been ordering pizzas all this time while I was gone?! How in the world are you paying for them all?!
ROBOTS: We arenโt! The delivery rule is 30 minutes or itโs free. And they never get the pizzas here within 30 minutes!
RING: Ah, that makes sense.
RING: Looks like the kitchen is over here. Wow, that is a LOT of carrots. Is that all we have to eat? No wonder you bunny droids order pizzas all the time.
ROBOT: Quick! Take cover!
RING: Whatโs going on? …and what are you doing?ย
ROBOT: Preparing for the battle over on the right. …Take that, Dr. Hare!
RING: A battle? That doesnโt look like a fight, that just looks like a couple of bunnies jumping on the bed over there! …Ooh! That gives me a great idea! Time to hit those drums!
ROBOT: Good thinking. Sound the alarm to attack the carrot fort!
Sound the alarm and attack the carrot fort? …Weird imagination. I guess three years of goofing off in a clubhouse will do that.ย
Itโs drumminโ time! A-one, two, three, four,
Two bunny robots jumping on the bed! Oneโs about to land on the otherโs head!
I am not the doctor, but hereโs what I said: No more rab-bots jumping on the bed!
ROBOTS: โGet to the root of the sit-uation, and find Dr. Hareโs top-secret sta-tionโฆ
You gotta find the card keys and all the carrots, to save the good olโ island of 24 Carrotโโ
RING: Ok, where is THAT music coming from?
ROBOTS: Scanningโฆ Rabbit Robots located in the upper hallway.
RING: Oh, yeahโฆ They must have found the musical section in there. I didnโt know the robots liked music!ย
ROBOTS: The instruments were an exquisite touch. Your decorating skills have amazed us all. We all rate every one of your clubhouse tours as a 100% success!
RING: Wow! Iโm glad you feel that way because I was just thinking the same thing! …Wait, how did you know about my other clubhouse tours? …Oh yeah, you guys have a computer in the arcade room!
ROBOTS:ย I detect that a lightbulb has lit inside your tiny head. Could that mean you are now up to something?ย
RING:ย You know it.ย
ROBOTS:ย Does this mean you will add more stuff to the PHB?
RING: Maybeโฆ or maybe Iโll get back to arts and crafts and movie-making. I think Iโll stay here and make a plan on what to do next.
ROBOTS:ย You picked an exceptional place. This is just the kind of workshop that Dr. Hare had!
RING: Interestingโฆ I guess this makes me the next evil genius at work here, huh? WHOโS BAD! Ha-ha, just kidding! …Well, great talk, but I gotta end the tour and get to work on myโ
ROBOTS: โFind a crazy rabbit like Dr. Hare, but we gotta warn you that ya better beware!
Heโs the funniest villain weโve ever had, but if you just ainโt careful, heโs GONNA BE MADโฆโ
RING: UGHโฆ Will someone please make those musicians STOP? I canโt focus like this!
ROBOTS:ย With pleasure! They are beginning to annoy all of us!ย
RING:ย On second thought, how about one last song? Yโknow, to wrap things up?
ROBOTS:ย You heard her, rabbots! A-one, two, three-
โFor the last song that weโre gonna sing, Letโs give three cheers for Invisible Ring! All 7 of her clubhouse tours complete, Theyโre exciting and amazing to the edge of your seat! Thanks for joiningโ โem all, and we hope you had fun,ย But our scanners say that itโs just begun!ย If you have a comment, donโt forget to send! Just let us know what you think! THE END!โ
…Well done, Rabbots! Thank you everybody and good night!
Hope this ends my clubhouse saga on a good note. I think it does, both figuratively AND literally!
Hope you enjoyed thisย guest postย by Invisible Ring. If you did, you might also enjoy the rest of her clubhouse tour collection: from Poptropica Original, herย regular,ย Castle,ย Party, and Dreamy rooms; and from Poptropica Worlds, her Adventurous and Summer rooms, which led to the Hare-y home you just saw.ย Consider sharing yours, too!
