In other news, over the weekend, Poptropica shared a few fan posts on their Instagram stories. We’ve got doodles and danger:
That wraps up this update! Are you surprised by the scavenger hunt? Delighted by the doodles? Joining in the art fun for Poptober? We’d love to know. Keep on popping on, Poptropicans! โ๏ธ
Hey Poptropicans! We’ve got a clubhouse to visit and videos to see. A Poptropican’s eyeballs always stay popped open! ๐
First up, the official blog’s Clubhouse Crawl series continues with this jungle home from Orange Tiger! You can take the tour on the Pop Creators’ Blog or here in this Instagram video. Look out for the big troll, hex-a-decker couch, and Amelia-approved unicorns! ๐๐
Speaking of Amelia, remember when she invited us over for tea and made us do her dirty work? The Creators recently dropped a new video playing through Amelia’s “eye-popping” mini questalong with a written guide, but just saying, the PHB’s got one too. ๐โ๏ธ๐ฆ
Amelia’s mini quest also hints at lore not yet revealed, particularly through a photograph of a baking session with some mysterious girls and a cat. Some Poptropicans have their theories, and Poptropica promised in a recent tweet that there’s more to come!
All fair questions! Thereโs more coming about some of the clues uncovered in Ameliaโs mini quest ๐๐
If your eyes need to be popped and ears peeled for any video, though, we can’t help but mention our recent hit, “Backspace.” Watch the clip below and get the behind-the-scenes of this “Blank Space” Taylor Swift parody music video created as a lament for Pop’s ex-islands! ๐๐ชฆ
Hello once again everyone! Spotted Dragon here bringing you the September recap for Community Creations! September’s theme was Punk, so be sure to check out all the featured artists (not in any order)!
Starting things off with a punch! ๐ These two cool cats are definitely rocking their punk outfits. And those outfits actually come from an outfit meme where fans request an artist to draw characters in specific outfits. Very creative! The fits seem to suit this criminal coupling, right down to the punk piercings and makeup. And I love those dynamic poses! Find her Instagram here and her Tumblr here.
Chaos Club by Lucky Joker
Oooh, now we’re getting into the more spooky side of punk. ๐ As the Poptropica Creators said regarding this work: Gothtropica all the way! The super dark color scheme really lets those neon colors pop. And, of course, it can’t be punk without a little darkness! Who’s your favorite goth-tropican? ๐ Find his Instagram here and DeviantArt here.
Pumpkin Punk by Gentle Dolphin
Hey, doesn’t this outfit feel a little familiar? ๐ Well it should because it was one of the winners of the Red October Halloween Costume Contest! So get ready to see this pop-tastic punk design in-game soon. Not only is it perfect for September’s theme, but it is also quite appropriate for the fast-approaching spooky season. The Jack-o-Lantern inspired face paint is to die for. Anyone else as excited for Halloween as I am? Find her Instagram here and DeviantArt here.
Villain Fan Girl by BrittScarlet
As if our first three features weren’t punk enough, this submission rocks our socks off. ๐ค Nothing more punk than a villain, after all! The ripped pants, fingerless gloves, dyed hair, and dramatic makeup all scream punk rock. I could definitely see someone wearing this outfit at a concert, which is appropriate since punk culture has such strong ties to music. Keep rocking it! Find her Instagram here.
Betty Jetty in Punk Form by Friendly Feather
Lastly, we have a Betty Jetty piece soaring in. โ It seems that the Super Power Island villains really fit our theme, huh? But this rendering stands out because of its ties to Fairy Tale Island as well. Cinder, after all, is basically the punk rock queen of Poptropica. I love seeing this sort of crossover happen in art, and that outfit is definitely on brand for a punk concert. Find the artist in the comments and on Discord.

Now I’m not punking you guys when I say that those submissions rocked. I loved seeing that fiery spirit in all your work! Let’s bring that passion into next month too.
October: How Do I Participate?
Community Creations is a cool series for anyone in the Poptropica community to join in on. To sum up what itโs about, itโs basically a chance to show off your artwork, creepy fan-fics, Pop clubhouses, costumes, and anything else that pops into your mind.
If we really like the piece you submit, we will feature it here on the PHB! As long as it relates to that monthโs theme. So what is October’s theme? October’s theme isโฆ
๐ป Ghosts & Ghouls! ๐ป
As we enter spooky season, it is only appropriate that we begin celebrating Halloween immediately. So for this month, you may also want to take inspiration from trends like Inktober or happyclonetrooper’s Pop-tober prompts.
Fear not! There’s so much you can do with this prompt. Ghost Story Island is a good place to start, but you could even make your own ghost costume or your own, well, ghost story fanfic! Take inspiration from Daphne Dreadnought or even the Haunted House mini-quest. As long as your work includes a spooky specter or fearful phantom, it’ll fit with our theme.
And on a similar note, be sure to check out the upcoming PHB’s annual Halloween Costume Contest for more fall fun!

Submit: Comment below with a link to whatever youโve created, email it to the PHB team on our Contact page, OR share it with me (SydVC aka Spotted Dragon) on DeviantArt, Twitter, or Discord.
Results: Next month, I will feature 5 submissions that stood out to me the most as well as some honorable mentions.
Limitations: Just make sure you relate to both the theme and Poptropica (and nothing NSFW or otherwise inappropriate).
Due Date: I will take any entries before the end of this month. Submit as many things as youโd like!
I will be sure to let you know I have seen your creation. While quality counts, Iโm mainly looking for something to simply catch my eye, so donโt be afraid to join in!
So what are you waiting for? Go make something awesome!
Hey, Poptropicans! We had a lot of fun watching your Poptropica Month videos this year โ and even highlighted some of our favorites.
Of course, we didn’t want to feel left out of the fun, so we’ve been working on something too… Without further ado, we at the Poptropica Help Blog present our first hit single: “Backspace”!
A few months ago, Slanted Fish had the idea to write a Poptropica parody of Taylor Swift’s “Blank Space” for Poptropica Month 2021. While the original “Blank Space” satirizes media’s obsession with Swift’s love life, “Backspace” expresses fans’ grievances with modern-day Poptropica. The end product was a fun and (unfortunately) relatable glimpse into being a Poptropica fan in 2021.
Every lyrical masterpiece needs a singer, so imagine my surprise when Slanted Fish asked me to provide vocals! Why me? Well, it might have had something to do with me mentioning that I like to sing WAY back in my introduction to the PHB post. I wonder what 2018 me would have thought if she knew what including that little detail would lead to? Just don’t ask me to dance, though.
Recording audio was easier said than done. I own a Blue Snowball microphone, an omnidirectional microphone that picks up every little sound in the room. On top of that, it was difficult finding a good time and place to record amid conflicting work schedules, Florida’s summer storms, and noisy chickens. Don’t believe me on that last one? Here’s an exclusive behind-the-scenes listen at me dealing with four rambunctious roosters. ๐๐๐๐
Recording was only half the battle. For mixing, I used a free program called Audacity, which is also called Audiotonic in the Microsoft Store. After sorting through multiple takes and playing with the volume, I finally exported the track and sent it Fishy’s way. Finally, she created the accompanying music video using various Poptropica island trailers from over the years.
We hope you all liked our little pop song! Will we make another music video like this in the future? Eh, we’ll see… Anyway, be sure to also check out the Poptropica Month 2021 playlist for more awesome Pop-related videos. It’s a fun way to celebrate Poptropica’s birthdayโ err, funeral as the Dimension Bros would say.
Hey Poptropicans! We’re not goofing around with this announcement โ we’ve got sneak peeks for the next Poptropica island!
Poptropica’s been busy lately with side quests and other specials, but they haven’t forgotten about making islands. The latest one in the works is Goofball Island, which was announced as a winner of the 2020 Dream Island contest. Take a look at their wavy wonders!
As we see in this first ever sneak peek, the “land of Goof” is lined with curving everything, from trees to lampposts โ and even slanted fish on the Crazy Club? We’re not sure what this grinning building is all about, but we get another look at it through this sketch (sans “Toof”-paste):
Are the dancing creatures and poofy trees giving anyone else Dr. Seuss storybook vibes? In any case, that silly energy fits in here, as the plot is all about an unusually cheery town that’s about to have all its color wiped out by mad scientist Dr. Blandston.
Back to that first picture, we find some curious things of note, like the fact that our boy Ned Noodlehead from Super Power Island is hanging out by the Crazy Club, likely just as a stand-in for scale. We also see a building for Boskos Car Fixing and Embroidery, which seems a strange combo. And wacky faces are everywhere, from the clouds to the gate gnomes and birds (real and inflatable). ๐ค๐คช
Besides the announcement of this winning island idea back in January, this is the first time we’re hearing about Goofball Island, and it seems to be shaping up to be quite the adventure! Stay tuned for the latest news on this upcoming island, and let’s hope they (don’t) goof it up!
Poptropica’s Instagram story has been busy too, with last calls to enjoy Hoptropica birthday goodies and a slew of fan art, including a couple of drawing process videos. Hippity hop before they drop!
That’s it for this update! How hyped are you for Goofball Island? Have you made the most of Hoptropica’s birthday visit? Share with us in the comments, and keep on popping on, Poptropicans! โ๏ธ
