Rest in Pop: No more Poptropica Worlds 🌏

RIP to the 3D, post-Flash Poptropica prototype: Poptropica Worlds. This week, the plug was quietly pulled from the game for good.

Rest In Pop 2017–2022

Pop Worlds began its life in 2017, releasing only a handful of islands in the year that followed: Crisis Caverns, Greek Sea Odyssey, 24 Carrot and Home Island (both of which are different from the versions we know today), as well as the mini-game Dr. Hare’s Revenge.

Clubhouses began on Poptropica Worlds’ Home Island

But by 2019, with barely any updates and some glitches never quite resolved, Poptropica quietly began to retire the game, first by hiding all links to it from their website. However, as long as you visited poptropica.com/worlds or downloaded the mobile app for iOS or Android devices, which would sync with the desktop game, you could still play it. But as of this week in November 2022, it seems, not anymore.

Now, going to the link will redirect you back on the original Poptropica.com homepage. The app has also been removed from the Apple and Google Play stores, which seems to point to the official end for Poptropica Worlds. We’re sad to see it go! While there’s no archive of the game itself available, you can revisit its legacy through our various blog posts under the Poptropica Worlds category. Rest In Pop, Worlds.

Thanks to Muddy Fly and Dizzy Feather for sharing this news.

While we’re missing Pop Worlds, over on this side of Poptropica, we may soon be seeing the return of one of this year’s free costumes! On the Creators’ Blog, you can cast your vote for which player-designed outfit from the Baron’s Cabin of Curiosities you’d like to see make a comeback next month. Guess that means we won’t be seeing the airship this month, but at least it’ll be back in time for the winter holidays!

On the note of design, check out the latest fan art features from Poptropica’s Instagram stories — red’s a hot color this week! 🔥

Camp Cretaceous and Art Bodacious 🦕🖌

Hey Poptropicans, pop in for dinosaurs and doodles!

Home Island has a new ad building for the Netflix show Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous, with a chase game that’s a bit of a challenge! Your goal is to run away from a dinosaur, jumping over obstacles until you reach the end — but if you hit three obstacles, you’ll start over.

If you’re successful, you’ll win a Camp Cretaceous Merch cap and Camp Cretaceous Raptor Tooth necklace (which comes with an audible roar, and makes you sweat when you tap the spacebar).

Here’s the latest in Poptropica’s Instagram stories! In addition to bodacious fan art features, the Creators also launched a Pop poll with the help of the Little Miss/Mr meme to ask about device preferences for playing Pop. It’s not the first time they’ve popped this question, but just like before, desktop (at 85%) wins over mobile by a long shot.

Last call for voting in the Poppies! 🏆 Polls are open until this Friday, and we’ll be announcing the winners of our Poptropica fan awards this Sunday at 7pm EST in a spectacular slideshow. See you there! 🥳

In addition to the YouTube livestream, we’ll also be hanging on Discord and the Arcade in Poptropica. See the party details here, and if you haven’t already, spare a few minutes to VOTE IN THE POPPIES! ✅

Get Crazy Cozy and Vote for Vestments 🧣🗳️

Hey, Poptropicans! Let’s take a look at the latest in Pop fall fashion and revisit some contest-winning classics. After that, we’ll check out a special review of Goofball Island as well as some fun fan art features.

With temperatures dropping IRL, Adventure Outfitters is debuting some cozy fashion for both Poptropicans and pets. Players can buy themselves the oversized Cool Autumn outfit for one easy payment of 250 credits. It’s a simple look that goes well with many different accessories such as a pair of glasses. 👓

Pets get three new items to match their owners’ outifts. All players can keep their pets warm with the Sweater Buddy sweater and Snug Bean hat, which pair nicely with the Snug Vibes outfit. On the other paw, members and their pets can be extra sweet together with the Slice of Pie costume, which matches the Sweet as Pie costume. These cute and cozy critter costumes cost 75 credits each.

While the Creators are choosing the winner of November’s costume contest, players can vote for which of the previous winning designs should return during the Baron’s next visit! If you missed one of these costumes the first time around, here’s your chance to have it return next month. Head over to the Creators’ Blog and let your voice be heard!

Have you had a chance to play through the newly released Goofball Island? Because we’ve got a special review of the island from none other than Emperor Thirsty Flame himself!

In this Twitter thread, the designer of Goofball Island, who also goes by the name Blank Slayte, talks about being pleasantly surprised by the visuals, the gameplay, and his being immortalized as Goofball Island’s founder. It must be exciting and surreal to become a part of Poptropica history. You can also read about how Thirsty Flame designed Goofball Island in this exclusive PHB interview! 🤪🏝️

By the way, we’re loving how much detail is in the new island. Check out our Goofball Island Guide to see if you caught them all!

Speaking of goofy, only a couple hours remain in the Goofy Clubhouse Challenge. You have until tonight at 8 p.m. PST to submit your hilarious homes to the Pop Creators. Good luck, peculiar Poptropicans!

Last but not least, we have five features from Pop’s latest Instagram stories. This particular batch not only has fan art for the new Goofball Island, but even an NFT meme from the official Coolmath Games account. Make of that what you will.

That’s all for now! What do you think of this week’s Adventure Outfitters update? Which of the 10 winning costumes do you want to see make a comeback? What are your thoughts on Goofball Island? Leave your thoughts in the comments below!

Thank you for reading, and have a good day!

Vote for your favorite Poptropica villain! 🦹‍♂️

It’s time for a Poptropica showdown! In this guest post by Smart Icicle, vote for the best Poptropica villain and see how they stack up with the rest.

Of course, Poptropica has had many more villains since the Pop Creators’ Blog’s great Poptropica Villain Showdown of 2011…

Hello! I’m Smart Icicle and I want to share a poll with all of you! You may not know me, but I’m also known as Target1051 on Poptropica and DeviantArt. I am a big fan of Poptropica. I decided to create this poll because I want to know what villains you like. Whichever villains come out top, I’ll write about them in a future Pop 5 post here on the PHB!

The poll will close two weeks from now, on Feb 13 at 11:59 PM EST.

That’s it for now. Smart Icicle out! 📚❄️

Hope you enjoyed this guest post by Smart Icicle. If you liked this, you may also enjoy this Pop 5: Villains of Poptropica guest post by TechWizard, and look out for Smart Icicle’s take on this Pop 5!

The Poptropica Help Blog welcomes interesting Poptropica insights from anyone in the Poptropica community with thoughts to share. You can find some tips and guidelines on our page on how to Write for the PHB, and share blog posts on the PHC, our Discord server.

Out-of-this-World Skinny Moon and Vehicle Designs!

Hello, everyone!

Lucky Joker here with some out-of-this-World snaps, polls, and other social media paraphernalia. Let’s get into it, shall we?

Earlier this week, Skinny Moon posted this Poptropica–to–Poptropica Worlds comparison of her avatar on the Creators’ Blog. The new look sure does pop!

skinny2bmoon2b-2bpoptropica2bvs-2bpoptropica2bworlds

In her post, she credits Poptropica artist Lance (presumably Lance Fry) for her new avatar. Well done, Lance!

Skinny Moon also posted these pictures on various Poptropica social media channels before blogging about it. Be sure to follow their social media (more on that below) to see what’s new, even before the Creators (or anyone in the fandom) blogs about it!

Anyway, which Skinny Moon do you like better? (I really love both of them!) Share your thoughts in the comments.

Also on the Creators’ Blog, a “Pick your favorite Poptropica vehicle designs” poll is currently being conducted. The cut-off date is unknown, so go ahead and vote for your favorite as soon as possible, before it closes!

For the poll, they’ve asked us to pick TWO of our favorite designs, and hinted that the most popular ones may someday come to life within Poptropica Worlds!

The options at hand are: Big Wheel, Future Bike 01, Future Bike 02, Greenfire Truck, Wild Bug, and Uni-Moto.

They’ve actually shown these designs before, a few years back. These were concepts for an abandoned project called Racer Island (or as they mentioned, The Great Race).

For some unknown reason, they’ve omitted one of the vehicles from the poll – this blue “Future Bike 01” was replaced with one of the other Future Bikes from the original.

Strange. Maybe they figured they had enough Future Bikes in the mix. In any case, be sure to vote for your two favorites!

Lastly, there’s a new display of Poptropica’s social media visible at the bottom of today’s post on the Creators’ Blog. (These buttons have also been on their sidebar for some time now.) Perhaps they could go for a more modern look, though?

Well, that’s all for now. Thanks for reading!
