It’s time for a Poptropica showdown! In this guest post by Smart Icicle, vote for the best Poptropica villain and see how they stack up with the rest.
Hello! I’m Smart Icicle and I want to share a poll with all of you! You may not know me, but I’m also known as Target1051 on Poptropica and DeviantArt. I am a big fan of Poptropica. I decided to create this poll because I want to know what villains you like. Whichever villains come out top, I’ll write about them in a future Pop 5 post here on the PHB!
The poll will close two weeks from now, on Feb 13 at 11:59 PM EST.
That’s it for now. Smart Icicle out! 📚❄️

Hello everyone, Spotted Dragon here again with a Poptropica update!
As you already know, Poptropica will be experiencing some big changes in the upcoming future. We aren’t completely sure what this “New Poptropica” has in store yet, but we do know that we will be getting pets, shoes, and more cool stuff. And ya know what else? We’ll also be getting houses!
Yep, you heard right! The Pop Creators have shared a few cool designs with us that we get to vote on. And houses are only the beginning!
“The Poptropica Creators are hard at work on the New Poptropica that’s coming later this year — and we need YOUR help! Over the upcoming months we’ll be asking for your opinions on a bunch of different exciting things that relate to the New Poptropica.”
Now that’s some big news. First, New Poptropica is still on track to be released this year! There aren’t too many more months to go in 2016, so this big update seems to be coming very soon! Or at least before 2017, which is something I guess. Maybe some new islands will be released soon after the update?
Second, this isn’t the only part of New Pop that we get to help decide on. Aside from houses, apparently we get to vote on many other features over the next couple months! Of course, they’ve casually asked our opinions on some features, like shoes, over on Twitter before, but we actually are starting to see what they’ve been working on!
If you haven’t heard the hype, Astro Knights Island has been released! But, not to the general public, of course. You have to buy an Astro Knights Early Access Pass to get in. The island will be released to everyone on June 10th, so you don’t have to wait that long to play it! Personally, I have bought the pass, but will you?
Also, I know that most of you have experienced difficulty logging on Poptropica the past few days. Dr. Hare has properly addressed this problem:
Q: What’s going on with Poptropica right now? A: With the launch of Astro-Knights island we’ve experienced an overwhelming surge in traffic. We are working on a solution to handle the increase in traffic to the site.
Q: When will Poptropica be back up? A: We’re expecting to have the site ready within the next 24 hours.
Q: Is my account information lost? A: No. The increase in traffic has caused temporary glitches that have made registered accounts unavailable. This is part of the fix we are working on. When we are back up and running, you will have full access to your account.
In fact, they fixed it right in a jiffy! It should be readily working now, and you are able to log in without the stupid machine constantly telling you that your name is forever nonexistent or to check on it later only to find it still repeating the same message like a broken record. 🙂
Oh, yeah; you might see something on the Poptropica website like:
ALERT: We’re currently making upgrades to the site. If you have trouble logging in or playing, please try again later. Thank you for your patience.
Just ignore it. Ignore it and walk away. Don’t let peer pressure get the best of you, kids.
ANYWAY, they have made updates to the map to suit the newly debuted Astro Knights Island as well as Reality TV Island. It does note that it is coming Summer 2009! Very cool!
It sure is getting quite crowded on the map. It would be cool to have a huge Poptropica Planet, and you could rotate it to see all of the islands. 😀 That reminds me… how are you able to travel to all of these islands all over the planet in just a simple blimp?
Next on the agenda, we are now able to sign up to be E-mailed when Reality TV Island releases! Yay! Unfortunately, we haven’t gotten the E-mail for Astro Knights, but predictably, we will get it on Wed., the day it releases for everybody.
Also, on the Poptropica website you can now see that the little Astro Knight and Reality TV Island buttons have been updated based on the recent news:
The last piece of news is that there is a new poll on the PCB! It asks, “Do you plan on getting the Astro-Knights Early Access pass?“
I already have it! [14%]
I will be getting it soon! [39%]
I haven’t decided yet. [12%]
No, I think I’ll wait. [33%]
I obviously voted that I already had it, but what did you vote? =O
I think that’s about it! I will try to get a guide up maybe this weekend for people who have bought the pass. We have also hit the 1,100,000 hit mark! Woot! =] What a great way to celebrate my B-Day which is in 2 days! ^-^ Merry Astro-Knight Island playing to all!
UPDATE: Whoops! I accidentally forgot something. Vlad the Viking has posted a new video on YouTube! It’s sort of a trailer/gameplay video of Astro Knights Island. Enjoy!
Well, it looks like the Poptropica Creators’ Blog has released their 3rd wallpaper! This time around it is winter-themed!
Also, the poll on the Creators’ Blog asking you what your favorite island was is closed. Nabooti came 1st (with a whopping 75% of the vote!), Spy came 2nd, Super Power came 3rd, Time Tangled came 4th, Early Poptropica came 5th, 24 Carrot came 6th, and finally comes Shark Tooth with 7th.
New guides have came out for Hoops and Sky Dive! Please check them out!
Also, I know Christmas is tomorrow! We hope you all get great gifts and presents! I probably won’t have access to Internet because I’m going over to my cousin’s house to celebrate Christmas. So, I wish you all a merry Christmas in advance! =D
Whoops! Apparently, they added another wallpaper to their post after I made this blog post. Thanks Shaggy Tornado for letting me know!
By the way, they added a new poll asking you what you think is the best thing about the holidays. Having no school is so far leading. LOL!
And finally, we’ve also got a new poll: Which Poptropica wallpaper do you think looks best on your desktop?
Some of you may remember the other 2 wallpapers the Poptropica Creators had also released earlier this year: the Shark Tooth Island one and the classic blue! We also had this poll when the Shark Tooth wallpaper was released, so you could say this is an “updated” version!
For those of you who like numbers, our previous poll, Who is your favorite Poptropica Creator?, had exactly 2,400 votes! Here’s the results:
Yay, another sneak peek! IIRC, this is our second video sneak peek of Big Nate Island! It shows the main street of Big Nate Island. Apparently, Nate follows you around during your journey on Big Nate Island. Um.. stalker much? LOL! Anyways, enough words! Video below!
Also, we receive another funny comic of Big Nate courtesy of the Poptropica Creators’ Blog!
There’s a new advertisement in between places on most islands. It’s advertising a Speak Out on PBS Kids. Clicking on the top of this ad will bring you to this webpage: http://pbskids.org/speakout/. Here’s what it looks like:
There is also a new poll on the Poptropica Creators’ Blog! It asks you what your favorite island is so far. Presumably, Nabooti is winning by a landslide. And good reason, too; it’s a fun and challenging island!
Check out our Nabooti Island guide (made by the wonderful Codien) to learn how to complete it fast and easily! =) The Nabooti Map is now available for viewing!
