We are halfway through the year, and this series! I probably should get this post finished ASAP because I finished a workout earlier and will probably be sore in the morning.
One thing that helps many people get through the long, hot summer months is doing art! And it just so happens that there’s a Poptropica Island centered around that–along with a mystery that only you can solve. July’s Island is…
Counterfeit!!!
Counterfeit Island is one that a lot of people from the pre-Haxe days loved and remembered. The story revolved around a museum in an idyllic French city, and the thief who planned to ruin it all. (Plus, check out our Pop Places IRL take on the setting!) Of course, I think we can all agree that the Black Widow is the most remembered aspect of this island, like many other villains. 🕷
Sadly, there was little concept art to be found this time. I scoured the Daily Pop archives, but as Counterfeit was released before its creation and they never uploaded past art for it later, I only managed to find this sketch from an old Creators’ Blog post.

That doesn’t take away from the impressive design work though! While simplistic, it’s also chic with a lovely bright color palette and great designs of the locations such as the museum and the Black Widow’s lair.
This island should be brought back for those cool spider designs on the bunker walls alone.
Unlike its more fantastical and less educational predecessor Astro-Knights, Counterfeit includes many famous paintings with information on art history, as well as the art forgery that collectors and museums have to deal with.
(Small reminder that using the name “Inspector Veuvre Noire” in a FRENCH TOWN should prove that we would be a lot safer from these villains if only the all the other NPCs didn’t have a single shared brain cell.)

What do you miss most from when Poptropica was on Flash?~Dangerous Dragon
I miss playing all the old islands. Back then, when I was only a starter, I played all the islands a lot and became an expert at a few. Now since Flash is gone, more islands are gone, and there have been huge changes to the game. The only thing that has really kept going was the PHB. Good thing the PHB held an honorary end of Flash party!
What is your favorite sport from the Poptropolis Games?~Friendly Shell
My favorite sport had to be weight lifting. I just like to watch our Poptropican struggle to lift weights. My second favorite would be volleyball because who doesn’t want to play with a giant squid! 😂 Can’t wait to participate in the next PHB Tribal Tournament!

Some of the best would be Spotted Dragon, Friendly Fish, Lucky Joker, etc. In my opinion, the worst would be Muddy Puddle, Dirty Socks, Chilly Bones, and Super Heart.

Kicking things off with a theatrical Ringmaster Raven is perfect for pride month! The asexual community is largely underrepresented, so I love seeing it in the spotlight here. Recognize this piece from our LGBT info post? It’s a fantastic addition to pride month. The bisexual flag gradients in the background, hair, eyelids, and earring are stunning. And the colors pair so well with the genderfluid flag in the shirt, tail, and ring! Not only is this a colorful masterpiece, but it also shows great personality. Fans have really embraced Rumpelstiltskin as a new Pop villain, and I love the punk aesthetic he brings to the table. And it just makes sense that a shapeshifter would be genderfluid, right? Gonna be Ace at Being an AroAce by Cool Star
Okay, you guys know by now that I am a sucker for puns. And that title? They aced it. I love the colors in this drawing and the use of painterly brushstrokes. Those rainbow kicks are so cool! I definitely picked them up in-game too. The inclusion of the “ace” playing card symbol is also a great addition, both in the flag and the flag post. Another wonderfully colorful submission! Did you really think we could get through pride month without a ton of color? I love the bold gradient of the hair and eyelid. The colors’ soft transition contrasts the sharp rainbow of the background quite nicely. And the white dress makes the colors pop that much more! Who doesn’t love a drag queen, anyway? July: How Do I Participate?
Community Creations is a cool series for anyone in the Poptropica community to join in on. To sum up what it’s about, it’s basically a chance to show off your artwork, creepy fan-fics, Pop clubhouses, costumes, and anything else that pops into your mind.
If we really like the piece you submit, we will feature it here on the PHB! As long as it relates to that month’s theme. So what is July’s theme? July’s theme is…
FANCY!
As we enter the month of July, many of you may know that the Poppieswill soon be upon us. The annual PHB event is a favorite within the Poptropica community. And you know what comes along with that event? Fancy outfits of course! I’m talking award-winning tuxes and gowns.
So, extending the celebration of the Poppies into Community Creations, let’s get even more fancy! Perhaps make a drawing of your favorite Poptropica royalty? Or give your favorite villains a fancy makeover via your painting skills? A scene of Black Widow amidst her fancy stolen paintings, or Captain Crawfish amidst lots of a fancy stolen treasure could do the trick too. Maybe write a fan-fiction of the Fairy Tale Island characters all attending a fancy ball? Or just submit your fanciest in-game outfit!
Whatever you come up with, I’m sure it will be great as long as it glitters, is made of the finest silk, or is in any way expensive looking. Just remember to keep those pinkies up when you’re drawing!

Hello everyone! Welcome to my first Pop-over: a Poptropica crossover with another universe—this time, The Greatest Showman. 🎩💫
In case you’re not familiar, The Greatest Showman (2017) is a family-friendly movie about an entrepreneur who decides to take on their dream and become a circus leader. This movie is filled with great songs, dance numbers, and amazing actors and actresses. (Check out my movie review on my blog or watch the trailer here!)
Anyway, I created the outfits in the pic above using the ASG and the Poptropica app. Here’s how:
