Climb Aboard for a Costume Crusade 🧥🗺️

Ahoy, Poptropicans! It’s time to embark on another journey and uncover some Poptropica news. We’ll admire some amazing artwork, say “Bonjour!” to the Baron, and chronicle some creative costumes. Let’s go!

Here are some fan art features from Pop’s recent Instagram stories. Plenty of fan art per usual, but also some promo for the Baron’s Crusade!

Two of the stories relate to the new Baron’s Crusade side quest. One is a poll asking users if they had played the quest, and the other is a Poptropica TikTok video that was posted on a Bones Day. We can safely say that this quest is Noodle-approved. 🦴

The Creators’ Blog also published a walkthrough for the Baron’s Crusade side quest. The written walkthrough and accompanying video show players how to complete the quest and uncover the hidden Easter eggs. You have one week left to set off on this once in a lifetime adventure and to snatch some Halloween goodies, including the six winning designs from September’s costume contest. Good luck, adventurers!

Speaking of costumes, I’m excited to share that I wrote a guest post for the Creators’ Blog! Since the PHB Halloween costume contest is still open, I wrote Gentle Dolphin’s Declassified Costume Creation Guide (Points if you get the reference😉)! This guide gives tips for making custom in-game looks and showcases some examples as seen below. I hope these tips help you create your ideal costume whether it be for trick-or-treating, island perusing, or contest submitting.

You may also notice a new Contests page on the Poptropica website menu. So far, this page only features the original announcement of monthly costume contests from June 2021. Maybe this is where the Creators will post updates about upcoming contests? There hasn’t been any word regarding a new costume contest in October, so I think we might get an announcement in early November. We’ll wait and see!

That’s all for now! Did you play the Baron’s Crusade side quest yet? What did you think of it, and did you discover every secret? Have you entered the PHB’s Halloween costume contest yet, or are you planning to enter this coming week? Let us know in the comments below!

Thank you for reading, and have a good day!

Contests, Fairy Tale Island

A fairy whimsical walkthrough with fashionably late fan art 🧚 🖌️

Hey there everybody! Purple here with a couple tidbits of news on Fairytale Island; and the long-awaited winners of its own fan art challenge. Let’s pop to it!

As you’ll see on their official YouTube channel, the Poptropica Creators recently posted a brand-new video spotlighting none other than good old Fairytale Island itself! In this video, Silent Frog from Poptropica HQ brings us on a full walkthrough of the newly released island. (For a written walkthrough, check out the PHB’s Fairytale Island Guide!)

It’s the first time we’re hearing the name Silent Frog, but it’s possible she’s posted for the Creators before without using a screen name, since her character looks familiar. 🐸

Silent Frog speaking with the prince on Fairytale Island.

If you watched all the way to the end of this YouTube walkthrough, you’ll find something especially exciting waiting in store. As it turns out, the Creators didn’t entirely forget about the Fairytale Fan Art Challenge, and decided to showcase three promised winners at the end of the video! Congratulations to criahacesium, v.a.m.p.y.r.a, and elisabethian1912 for winning the art contest. (And check out more fairytale fan art features here, here, and here!)

Silent Frog tells us that there was so much talent in the art submissions that the Poptropica team ended up having to randomly pick three winners from a hat, which brings up some suspicions about the delay in announcing the winners (which were originally meant to be revealed on April 23). How did picking names from a hat take such a long time?

We get an answer from an email that the Creators sent to one of the official blog’s guest writers, Invisible Ring, who asked them directly. Ring shared the message with us on our Discord server, the PHC:

As it turns out, they waited to release the winners in their walkthrough video instead of posting it on the date they’d promised. This isn’t the first time they’ve deserted us and only bothered to explain why after a fan directly asked them about it, but at least they apologized for their mistake and are aiming to do better!

Finally, to wrap up this post, the Creators mentioned briefly on their blog that a new fan challenge will be making its appearance sometime soon. I wonder what this one could be? 👀

Thanks for reading, and I’ll see you all next time!

Legendary Swords

Swords up for a legendary new mini-game ⚔️

Hi there, Poptropicans! As was hinted at recently, a new mini-game—inspired by the long-lost Legendary Swords action quest—is here!

Though it’s quite different from the original action quest itself, it’s fun and addicting nonetheless. To access the new Legendary Swords: Match 3 game, go to your messages or find it on the map. Plus, read on for a full guide on how to beat it below!

When you start, you’ll be faced with a large board filled with different types of robot heads, the villain E. Vile, and other items from the original Legendary Swords, as well as some new bug-eyed creatures.

The objective of the game is to match three or more of the same item in a row as many times as you can to gain points throughout three rounds. You’ll see a time bar up in the corner. Each round gives you 60 seconds to gain as many points as you can, so move quickly!

To gain points, swipe an item so that it matches up in a row with two or more of the same items. For an example, take a look at this vertical row of one-eyed robots:

Three robots are stacked in a row. One robot, however, is sitting next to the row instead of in it. Swiping the odd robot into the empty space in the row next to it will award a good number of points. The more items collected in a row, the more points will be earned!

But creating rows of items isn’t the only way to gain points. As you match more rows and score more points, a small blue bar in the upper left alongside an image of your Poptropican will fill up, and the picture will start to pulse. When you see your picture pulsing, click on it for a surge of extra points, as well as an extra ten seconds on the clock!

Once you’ve clicked on it, the blue bar will empty and the Poptropican will stop pulsing. Keep matching rows and gaining points to fill the bar up again as many times as you can!

Another good way to gain more points and time is using swords. There are two types of swords that sometimes come up: the Rusty Relic, which will give you at least a few extra seconds and points, and the Bolt, which is even stronger than the Relic and will give you even more time and points. These swords don’t need to be matched up in a row like normal items, so swipe them any which way to collect your points and time.

At the end of the three rounds, you’ll be shown a list of the top three ranking scores, along with your own score!

2nd place — not bad! 😎

Now you’re ready to get out there and master this mini-game! What did you all think of Legendary Swords: Match 3? Was it the fun challenge you’d been hoping for, or was it too poor of a representation of the original mini-quest to please you?

And, if you did try it out, what final score did you achieve? Share with us in the comments down below!

New Islands, Reality TV: Wild Safari Island

Reality TV: Wild Safari Island just released

Hey Poptropicans! BIG news…

The new island is here, and it’s called Reality TV: Wild Safari! Yes, there are similarities with the original Reality TV Island released in 2010—but it’s also its own island in other ways. We’ll cover more in a future review post.

It’s no blimp, but I guess I could live with this helicopter spin palace.

Right now, you won’t find RTV 2 on the island map, but it’s completely playable on CoolMathGames.com. You don’t even need a membership to play!

Promo screens on Poptropica and on social media are calling it a “preview,” suggesting there’s more to come — but as far as we can tell, the whole island is already on CoolMathGames. After all, you even get an island medallion at the end. Suppose we’ll find out when the island releases on Poptropica!

This spin-off island is a quick one, and here on the PHB, our Reality TV: Wild Safari Island Guide is already ready for your perusal. If anything, there is some interesting trivia to uncover about some of this island’s inhabitants!

Check out Reality TV: Wild Safari Island on CoolMathGames.com and let us know what you think in the comments!

24 Carrot Island, Clubhouse, New Islands, Store

It’s Time to Master the Remastered 24 Carrot!

Update: Our 24 Carrot Island Guide for Worlds is here!

Hey Poptropicans, look what’s popped up on the map…

map 24c

Bubble Witch 3 Saga!

Wait, uh… no one cares about that. But there is something else that’s new on Poptropica Worlds: 24 Carrot Island! 🥕

As we’ve rumored, it’s not a copy-and-paste version of the 24 Carrot from Poptropica Original, but rather a remastered version of the classic island. Those on the PHC who’ve already played the island have remarked that the differences include: an extended plot, improved scenery, and a new carrot museum. Considering the visitors’ center on Crisis Caverns, it looks like a museum will be a regular feature to new islands on Worlds!

We’ll be adding We’ve also just added a guide page for the new 24 Carrot, complete with a written walkthrough and other tidbits, as soon as possible here on the PHB. (You are welcome to help us out!) You can also find it on our Island Help page.

On Home Island, you’ll meet a new character named Scarlet who’s a fellow adventurer like you – what does this mean for the Poptropica universe?

In other news, you can now buy swords for your house for 1 coin! That’s quite the bargain, even beating out the previous “cheap favorite,” the potted cactus (4-5 coins depending on whether you’re a member). It can be placed repeatedly with no limit, but will not save once you leave your house.

Update: This item seems to be gone now.

Finally, the clothes shop is currently promising 8 new summer outfits, but upon scrolling all the way to the end, I (and others) have yet to see any such new outfits. A glitch, perhaps?

8 summer outfits

Anyway, it’s great to finally get some updates on Worlds – a retake on an old favorite, no less! What did you think of the New New 24 Carrot Island? (24 Carrot first came out in 2008, then re-released as a SUI in 2013, and is back again, remastered, in 2017!)

Share your thoughts in the comments – the Creators tend to read them! 😉
