Hey, Poptropicans! We just received more details about Pop’s upcoming Roblox game. If you have questions about island inspiration, gameplay, or other miscellaneous details, then you’ve come to the right place.
Many fans speculated which classic island inspired this little collab, with the most frequent guess being Monster Carnival. While our guesses were close, Pop’s debut Roblox game is actually based on the similarly spooky Zomberry Island! 🧟♀️🫐 I guess the swan threw us for a loop. 🦢
This crossover event will pit humans and zomberries against each other in an all-new multiplayer experience. Considering the fact that zombie games have a great presence on Roblox, it’s easy to see why Zomberry Island was a prime candidate for a Roblox spinoff. However, it would have been nice to see another island get the spotlight since we got the Zomberry Hero event less than two years ago.
Some fans might also be disappointed that this game won’t prominently display Pop’s storytelling capabilities. While I don’t play or watch anything relating to Roblox, it seems storytelling is not Roblox’s main priority. Plus, we hope the best stories are being saved for Poptropica’s main projects.
Update: Turns out the following featured image is just fan art. Still cool nonetheless!
We also got an inside scoop outside of the Creators’ Blog. DataSigh, a 3D modeler for Roblox, revealed a 3D recreation of Poptropica’s iconic yellow blimp on Twitter. The model looks great, and I can’t wait to see what it looks like in the game!
DataSigh’s tweet also included one of my own Poptropica illustrations. The original tweet did not credit any artist for the illustration, but proper credit was added after I asked for it. I’m honored that my art was featured by a game developer even if I would have appreciated credit from the beginning. That begs the question: why was fan art included and not any official Poptropica images? 🤔
According to their Twitter bio, DataSigh works for Dubit, a games studio with a slight connection to Pop: a former Pop Creator published an article about the game on Dubit’s website back in 2013. It’s possible that Poptropica hired Dubit to create the new Zomberry-inspired Roblox game, or DataSigh might just be a Pop fan — another Roblox project they shared was a boat combat systeminspired by Skullduggery Island.
Before I sign off, here’s a reminder that today (March 11) is the last day you can visit the Baron’s airship and purchase the latest collection of curiosities. Grab every item to your liking before the Baron sets off on her next adventure!
If you want your costume design brought to life in Poptropica, why not submit it to March’s costume contest? You can enter via social media or Poptropica’s submissions page until March 21 at 8pm PST/11pm EST.
Hey Poptropicans, pop in for the latest pro-tropica propaganda, celebrating the spirit of International Women’s Day, a fan game, and more! ✊ No misinformation here, we promise. Just spicy tweets. 🔥
Anyway, over on their Instagram story, Poptropica did put out a more Pop-based post for International Women’s Day with a collage of iconic Poptropica females mostly from islands lost, including the museum curator from Counterfeit Island and Daphne Dreadnaught from the Spook Central minigame. And check out the latest fan artfeatures:
That last one is particularly noteworthy: they’re screenshots from a Poptropica fan game! If you visit the artist’s IG page, you’ll find a link in their bio to Tropican Plaza, a fan-made island built on Unity. The gameplay is just like a typical Poptropica quest, with a storyline (about catching snakes for a fashion show to save a shop owner’s business) and items to collect and use. Play it here, or watch the walkthrough below:
Also, curiously after our post about Poptropica’s Twitter follows being mostly of brands without direct relation to Pop, Poptropica announced that they’ll be doing a follow spree once they hit 10K followers.
With 8.7K followers now, it might be a little while, but Poptropica fans have been dropping their handles just in case the moment comes. And they did follow some of them back already — they’re now at 146 following, nearly 3x more than before!
doing a follow spree once we hit 10k followers, who wants that follow back 🤪
And remember the big reveal last week of Poptropica making a Roblox game? While no new info has been released, the legendary YouTuber Thinknoodlesdid take notice. As someone who is known for both Poptropica and Roblox videos, having the two worlds collide is going to make for a pretty special video on his channel! 👀
I NEED MORE INFO. DM’S RN!!!!!

Anyway, we started this post with a Pop pun — let’s end with one too! Were or are you an entrepreneur of Poptropica secrets? 🤔
Hey Poptropicans, come on in for clubhouse additions, sweet compositions, and other traditions!
Have you seen all the green that’s in store at the store this month? ☘️ Besides the St. Patrick’s Day swag we covered last week, this week the clubhouse shop also got an update! Check out all the decor in this store:
Among the items returning after quite a while are the Coat Rack (125 credits) and Tea Set (200). Plus, members can also get two more backdrops: Fairytale Spring and Sunken Ship (150 each).

Speaking of ships, the Baron’s Airship is still up, but won’t be staying around for long. Grab this month’s goodies before it’s too late!
In other news, the monthly costume contest for March has begun and is taking entries up until March 21 at 8 p.m. PST. Catch the details on the Creators’ Blog and enter on social media or with the submissions form.
For a little designing inspo, head to Instagram. Poptropica’s latest stories feature some fantastic fan art of costumes and characters!
But maybe not just Pop. The Creators’ Blog just announced something major: Poptropica is releasing a Roblox game! And here’s a sneak peek:
Now what could this be? Our theory is that this looks a lot like Monster Carnival Island, with its dark mystical aura and swan boat reminiscent of the one inside the Tunnel of Love where you spoil a moment with two teenaged lovers. However, this will be neither an island nor quest.
Still, it will be “based on a fan-favorite island,” which could mean an off-shoot of Monster Carnival or something else. It’s certainly interesting that Poptropica is expanding into Roblox, a kids’ virtual world which nowadays has many more active players than Pop, and it’s possible Pop is trying to tap into this audience.
But we also can’t help but wonder about the implications of Pop building on another game — thereby focusing fewer resources on their own game. (Old islands, when?)
More news will be coming in the coming weeks, so stay tuned!
Poptropica recently tweeted a little activity titled “design your dream Poptropica map,” lined with icons of old islands and ranked with dollar amounts ranging from $1–5. The challenge is to fit your faves on an imaginary map with just $20 — which ones will make the cut?
Could this be a sign that Poptropica is taking player feedback on which of the more popular classics to bring back, or are they just playing with our hopes again? Is their pulse correct on which islands are considered more valuable? That’s all up for debate, but at any rate, it’s another critical hit for all the nostalgic players out there.
Also on Twitter, Poptropica has been sharing some pretty cool fan art. Take a look!

Over on Instagram, Poptropica shared on their story a page of fan art doodles as well as a Pop poll on favorite characters. Check ’em out:

Hello once again everyone! Spotted Dragon here bringing you the February recap for Community Creations. February’s theme was Comics, so be sure to check out all the featured artists!
The Super Power Island villains are taken a step further here with a Swap AU in which the villains are actually the good guys! Bashful Sword, usually a heroic popsona, is turned Mafia leader in this universe. A wonderfully intriguing story, heightened even more by a wonderfully dynamic composition! The border breaking of the panels and dynamic poses of the characters adds an excellent sense of movement to the whole page. My eyes can’t stop taking in all the little details! Find her DeviantArt here.
Cryptid Comic by Tilly Meow Jings ARSB
So… do you believe in magic? Poptropica definitely has its fair share of unexplainable supernatural phenomena, but our heroes seem to be able to handle it. I love this scene from Cryptids Island, and the comic format is perfect for it! Not only is the coloring and line art super clean, but the composition and speech bubbles add an excellent sense of flow to the panels. Find their Tumblr here.
Merlin AI Comic by BunniesNBowties (Planet-Poptropica)
Imagining Merlin as a more humanoid robot really interests me right off the bat. For this comic, a community member asked “How does Merlin AI eat his foods, especially robot mice?” I love how these panels are educational yet retain a sense of humor and playfulness. The gridded background and square speech bubbles especially add to Binary Bard’s “logical” tone. There’s great attention to detail, from the texture of the chalk to the smooth, clean coloring! Find their Tumblr here and their side blog here.
The Worldly Games by Bronze Socks & Smart Icicle
SATURDAY AFTERNOON, ON THE OUTSKIRTS OF PIGLANDIA.
Smart Icicle: Hey Bronze Socks, have you ever wondered if there is another world besides Piglandia.
Bronze Socks: I am sort of wondering the same thing. Hmmmm??
Bronze Socks picks up a clock that looked like it came from Steamworks Island but different. The clock had a purple aura around it with a note attached to it.
Bronze Socks picks up the note off the clock and reads it.
Bronze Socks: DO NOT USE! MAY END YOUR LIFE!
Smart Icicle: Well that was certainly ominous, I don’t think we should take the chance.
Bronze Socks: Are you kidding? This could be our answer to what we have been wondering about for years! Wait, what is happening to Piglandia!
Bronze Socks points to Piglandia as it starts to turn dull and gray. Bits of buildings in the town were starting to crumble…
In the plot of this short story, “two young adventurers set on a quest to find their crystal pig to restore their world, Piglandia. In order to find their crystal pig, they must compete in a series of death defying games against other infamous villains. Can the two adventurers make it and restore their world? Or will it be Game Over?” Dramatic, action-packed writing like this is certainly a huge part of the world of comics! With a dash of Squid Game and a whole lot of Poptropica, it’s quite the exciting read. And I love the spirit of collaboration between these two authors! Keep reading their story on DeviantArt.
The Adventures of Ruby (Part 2) by PegaKid (Muddy Kid)
This cute comic strip makes me super reminiscent of playing Poptropica as a younger kid. And this is just part 2 in a whole series of adventures! The project is very ambitious and clearly fits our comic theme. I love the hard work put into this story and the engaging format of panels and speech bubbles. In fact, Muddy Kid’s story is featured in a series of Creators’ Blog guest posts, where you can catch up and read from the beginning.

You guys submitted real page-turners this month! I wonder what action-packed artwork awaits us next month issue?
March: How Do I Participate?
Community Creations is a cool series for anyone in the Poptropica community to join in on. To sum up what it’s about, it’s basically a chance to show off your artwork, creepy fan-fics, Pop clubhouses, costumes, and anything else that pops into your mind.
If we really like the piece you submit, we will feature it here on the PHB! As long as it relates to that month’s theme. So what is March’s theme? March’s theme is…
💚🍀 Going Green! 🍀💚
I don’t know about you guys, but when I think of March, I think of the color green. St. Patrick’s Day being a big reason for that! But when I think of something “green” I don’t just think of the color, I also think of being environmentally friendly.
So for this month, I challenge you guys to “go green!” That could mean making something totally monochromatic with green colors, OR it could have all the colors of the rainbow but be centered around the environment. It doesn’t have to be both, but it certainly could be!
Maybe draw your favorite green-themed Poptropicans, like Speeding Spike or Sir Cador the Astro-Knight! Perhaps write a fan fiction about your Popsona getting really lucky on St. Patrick’s day and a villain getting green with envy. Or design your own IRL Poptropica art using recycled materials? Maybe take a crack at both challenges and draw an environmental scene from Twisted Thicket! It’s all up to you.
Enchanted caverns (Twisted Thicket Island)
Submit: Comment below with a link to whatever you’ve created, email it to the PHB team on our Contact page, OR share it with me (SydVC aka Spotted Dragon) on DeviantArt, Twitter, Tumblr, or Discord.
Results: Next month, I will feature 5 submissions that stood out to me the most as well as some honorable mentions.
Limitations: Just make sure you relate to both the theme and Poptropica (and nothing NSFW or otherwise inappropriate).
Due Date: I will take any entries before the end of this month. Submit as many things as you’d like!
I will be sure to let you know I have seen your creation. While quality counts, I’m mainly looking for something to simply catch my eye, so don’t be afraid to join in!
So what are you waiting for? Go make something awesome!
