Happy new year, Poptropicans! 🥳 The start of 2023 brings goodies for members and non-members alike, as well as fandom highlights, including pops down memory lane. Let’s go!

January’s member gifts have arrived, bringing a Baby Snowflake follower, Blue PJs, and Blue Winter Boots to privileged players’ inventories! ❄️ (If that’s not you, have you tried our PHB monthly membership giveaways?)

Regardless of membership status, though, you might find some things you like over at Adventure Outfitters, where the shop floor is once again stocking PoptropiCon Island bits and bobs. With the last episode re-released for members only four months ago, this may be a hint for the paywall coming down soon for Ep. 3: Reign of Omegon. Fingers crossed!

Over on the Poptropica Creators’ Blog, which has lately been getting much fewer updates compared with its social media counterparts, guest writer Invisible Ring has returned with a memory of an old Home Island landmark: the Movie Theater. 🎥🍿 As she shares, the theater used to be a room that played cartoons, though it was later remodeled into a crushed popcorn box with just one underwhelming video.

But that’s not all! Ring missed the theater so much, she created a YouTube playlist featuring over 80 of the videos from BatteryPop she remembers seeing there. In between, she’s also cleverly interspersed commercials for her own Pop fan vids, including a trailer for an upcoming feature film called Pirates, Camera, Action! — watch it below:

New year, new story highlights on Poptropica’s Instagram profile! After a long stream of “Fan Art” highlights, Pop has added a few new categories to their page: OCs, Characters, and Memes. And the PHB is proud to be the first among the Memes for our recent post about our 2022 Rewind in the spirit of Spotify Wrapped! 💝

Anyway, enjoy the latest fan art features from this week — now neatly sorted into the new highlight categories. Still technically fan art, but at least the names are more differentiating. 😜

Over on Twitter, Poptropica dabbled in a bit of politics by calling for people to vote in the US midterm elections last week. 🗳 Not since Poptropica’s accidental endorsement of Joe Biden for US President in 2020 have we seen their Pop-litical side, but considering the population of older players on social media, maybe it does make sense…

Anti-Zombie Halloween Hints 🧟🎃

Halfway through spooky month and there’s more on the horizon!

The latest member gifts have arrived, and they’re looking awfully combative. Members, check your inventories for your grungy gifts: Anti Zombie Bike, Anti Zombie Bat, and Anti Zombie Gear!

After Zomberry Hero two years ago and Humans vs Zombies on Roblox earlier this year, what’s next? Is another zombie apocalypse on its way?

A recent tweet from Poptropica offers a hint at a “Halloween surprise” coming up, but no further details have been announced yet.

However, with the recent reveal of the infamous Red Queen, it seems possible that a new storyline may soon open up about the mystery surrounding the latest airship arrival. We’ll have to see!

Poptober 2022: An abundance of art! 🍂🖌

Happy October! It’s finally that time again… doesn’t feel the slightest bit close to fall in my desert, but still the spooky season is near!

Autumn is a major source of inspiration for many creatives, thanks to its beautiful foliage and harvest seasons. Some of you may remember my Poptober drawing challenge from 2020. I’m here to announce an updated one for 2022, still with daily prompts to inspire your art.

Since I’m a little late on this one, we’ll go easy with the first prompt.

There are zero rules to this challenge. Any medium is totally fine, and you can interpret the prompts however you wish. If you’re swamped with projects or short on time, feel free to just do whichever days you’d like, or do a prompt for each week!

Speaking of drawings, maybe you can find some inspiration for your creative endeavors from the latest fan art features from Poptropica’s Instagram stories, at least for fall decorating… 🍁

Reign of Omegon with Gains of Neon

Pop drop alert: PoptropiCon Island, Ep. 3: Reign of Omegon has been re-released for members on desktop and mobile! 🚨🤖

With that, the PoptropiCon trilogy is once again complete (though it already is on Steam and Flashpoint). Once you’ve made your way inside the convention and uncovered a top-secret costume design, Episode 3 takes you to the final boss: the unexpected rise of a robot ruler.

If you’ll be visiting the depths of Omegon’s terrors, be sure to keep our PoptropiCon Island Guide near! No word yet on when it will officially re-release for non-members, but if we’re guessing from past patterns, it could be several months — or even a year. Hopefully sooner, though.

The latest converted episode comes just after an announcement from the Pop Creators less than two weeks ago on the official blog, and a day after another brief appearance in our fan-run Discord server, the PHC. Poptropica didn’t stop to chat, but fans were quick to follow up with an emoji petition for bringing back the classic Astro-Knights Island. 🚀

(UPDATE – DEC 2023: The Discord appearance has been debunked as not representing the real Poptropica. The PHB apologizes for the error.)

The Pop Creators’ Blog also brings news of a shop update featuring hoodies galore for the season of fall, as well as a new fanfic from guest writer Dizzy Feather. Check out the full shop stock as well as the prologue to The Adventures of Shy Owl on the official blog! 🍂🦉

The start of a new month also means new member gifts! The latest batch for privileged players features a Neon Bike, Neon Leather Jacket, and Neon Helmet. Ride with style! ✨

However, other expected monthly deliveries have yet to arrive with any mention — namely the Baron’s airship along with the costume contest winner. Does the Baron’s unexplained absence last month have anything to do with it?

One more thing: September isn’t just any month, it’s Poptropica’s birthday month! Are there surprises in store? We’ll have to see… 👀
