Greek Sea Odyssey Island, New Islands

An Odyssey Awaits!

Hiya, Silver Wolf here with news about a new island on Poptropica Worlds!

Only a day ago, Brave Tomato posted a trailer for an upcoming island, Greek Sea Odyssey, and it’s already here! It came out on mobile that same day, but now it’s available on both the app and browser, so you can play at home or on the go.

Right now it’s in early access for members only, so if you don’t have a membership you’ll have to wait a little longer to play.

Odyssey

So what is Greek Sea Odyssey about? Well, when you drop off the blimp, the first person you meet is Georgios, who explains that people are trying to build a city ruled by its citizens (or a democracy, as your Poptropican points out), but Zeus, ruler of all the Greek gods, keeps interfering. That’s not that unexpected; I mean, Zeus wants to rule all of Poptropica, after all.

The island seems to be a continuation of Mythology Island on Poptropica Original, with all the gods having left Olympus except for Zeus. Athena asks for your help to overthrow him, but in order to do so, you need to — guess what — go on an odyssey across the sea and gather sacred artifacts. Will you topple the great god of Zeus, or will you fall to his wrath? And what do these sacred artifacts include?

I don’t want to go too much into detail because of spoilers, but if you really are dying to find out what happens or need help on a section of the island, you can check out our island guide. 😉

Update: There are also Greek Sea Odyssey costumes in the store, including two members only costumes and two costumes for everyone.

unknown-2

From left to right, we have: a generic Greek female costume, the queen Hera, a skeleton, and emo Icarus—my personal favorite character. It’s pretty cool that you can be actual Greek Sea Odyssey characters, and that there’s something for everyone!

What do you think of this island concept? Is it too similar to the classic Mythology Island or do you like the idea of a sort of sequel? And which costumes do you like? Leave your thoughts in the comments below!

New Pop Worlds Adventure Trailer! — A storm is coming…

Hey guys, my name is Brave Tomato, and I have arisen from the dead yet again to bring you some very exciting news: for the first time in 4 months (7 months if you’re counting solely full islands), a new adventure on Poptropica Worlds is ahead of us.

Guess what, everyone? As the title says: a storm is coming. The trailer for this new adventure had just dropped, so Poptropicans all around the world, brace yourselves, for Greek Sea Odyssey.

Now, from all two of the preview images that we had gotten so far, we knew that a form of Mythology Island was coming, but it was up in the air as to what form it would be in. The trailer, and its YouTube description, seems to imply that this is an entirely new storyline to possibly conclude Zeus’s now three-island arc. Then again, I could be wrong on that assumption. Speaking of the description, here it is!

Set sail on the newest adventure in Poptropica Worlds: Greek Sea Odyssey! Travel through Ancient Greece and beyond in search of the items that will allow you to topple Zeus once and for all!

If I have to guess how this island is going to go beyond “oh no, Zeus is wreaking havoc“, this island seems to be focusing more on a traveling direction, on dare I say, an odyssey. I have a feeling that there will be a series of lands with challenges, each relating to an item that will help in your battle against Zeus. This would likely therefore have somewhat of a Skullduggery Island kind of feel to it, and since one of the most famous stories from Greek Mythology is Homer’s The Odyssey, it would make perfect sense.

Then again, this could also be simply a fresh coat of paint on the story we already know from Mythology Island. Only time will tell on which direction this will go.

As a side note, Zeus has gotten a bit of a design revamp. Alongside his new wardrobe, he’s also looking more disheveled than before:

Whether this is a simple redesigning choice or this appearance was a consequence of being locked up in a sleep chamber for 5 years, this… will take some getting used to for me.

There’s no release date yet, so the most we can do is sit back and see what happens! I know that I’m excited—after all, Mythology Island was my favorite Island.

Where do you think this will go? Are you excited to finally get something out of the Creators? What about dealing with Zeus… yet again? Make sure to keep posted to the Poptropica Help Blog for more updates, and don’t be afraid to comment!

It’s Time to Master the Remastered 24 Carrot!

Update: Our 24 Carrot Island Guide for Worlds is here!

Hey Poptropicans, look what’s popped up on the map…

map 24c

Bubble Witch 3 Saga!

Wait, uh… no one cares about that. But there is something else that’s new on Poptropica Worlds: 24 Carrot Island! 🥕

As we’ve rumored, it’s not a copy-and-paste version of the 24 Carrot from Poptropica Original, but rather a remastered version of the classic island. Those on the PHC who’ve already played the island have remarked that the differences include: an extended plot, improved scenery, and a new carrot museum. Considering the visitors’ center on Crisis Caverns, it looks like a museum will be a regular feature to new islands on Worlds!

We’ll be adding We’ve also just added a guide page for the new 24 Carrot, complete with a written walkthrough and other tidbits, as soon as possible here on the PHB. (You are welcome to help us out!) You can also find it on our Island Help page.

scarlet
On Home Island, you’ll meet a new character named Scarlet who’s a fellow adventurer like you – what does this mean for the Poptropica universe?

In other news, you can now buy swords for your house for 1 coin! That’s quite the bargain, even beating out the previous “cheap favorite,” the potted cactus (4-5 coins depending on whether you’re a member). It can be placed repeatedly with no limit, but will not save once you leave your house.

Update: This item seems to be gone now.

Finally, the clothes shop is currently promising 8 new summer outfits, but upon scrolling all the way to the end, I (and others) have yet to see any such new outfits. A glitch, perhaps?

Anyway, it’s great to finally get some updates on Worlds – a retake on an old favorite, no less! What did you think of the New New 24 Carrot Island? (24 Carrot first came out in 2008, then re-released as a SUI in 2013, and is back again, remastered, in 2017!)

Share your thoughts in the comments – the Creators tend to read them! 😉

Engineering with a Monkey Wrench

(Hey Poptropicans! Today’s news is brought to you in a guest post by Tall Cactus, who also runs her own Poptropica blog and frequently visits the PHB chat now on Discord. Hope you enjoy! –slantedfish)

Hello Poptropicans! It’s me, Tall Cactus, and I have some news to share with you!

First of all, the name of the mysterious upcoming island has finally been revealed. If you go to your medallion list, you’ll see this… Yup, its name is Monkey Wrench Island!

monkey wrench island

Now, this could be a code name that may later change, but either way, I was not expecting that. I thought it would be called something like Castaway Island. Maybe we’ll get an official announcement sometime this week about what’s likely to be the new tutorial upgrade!

In other news, in celebration of National Engineers Week, Poptropica is offering 300 credits for first-time completions of various science-themed islands! That’s twice as much as the usual 150! The special islands are Steamworks, Lunar Colony, Shrink Ray, and Virus Hunter Island, and again, it must be your first time finishing them to win the extra credits. (Click the island names for guides!)

However, this ends on February 27th (Saturday), so make sure to get the extra credits if you can! You could win up to 1200 credits for these four islands! I, on the other hand, have already completed all of those islands, so I get nothing.

300 credits

That’s all for now. See you guys soon!

New Island for the New Player (Soon)

Greetings Hawk-tropicans! This is Giant Hawk speaking, and today, the Creators have decided to reveal Poptropica’s next island! Well, at least some info about it… check out this pic:

main_street-ftue-fin

This is very cool looking! The sign tells us this is “Crusoes Castaway Retreat”, and based on the environment shown, this could be related to the jungle/aviation sneak peeks we’ve been seeing on the Daily Pop. The jungle-esque background is very nice, and is that a giant stone monkey head I see back there? The only problem is that the fruit on this large contraption/fruit stand structure is starting to make me hungry…

So, here’s what the Creators mentioned in their latest post (we’ve taken the liberty to emphasize the important parts in bold):

Well, we’re trying something a little bit different this time. We’ve got over 40 full Islands on the site already. That’s great for most players, but some of those Islands — okay, most of them — are very complex and challenging!

That’s why we’re putting our efforts toward a new Island especially for first-time players. It’s shorter than most, with simpler objectives. The idea is to let new players understand how to approach the challenges of Poptropica and give them the tools they need to crack some of the tougher Islands, like Escape From Pelican Rock.

If you’re already a Poptropica expert, fear not! We think you’ll like this Island too. It’s got some fantastic art, great gameplay, and hilarious characters. In other words, everything you love about Poptropica!

This sounds great – and as you may already know, sounds similar to a request Slanted Fish made in her open letter to Poptropica. (Plus, have you read the response?)

In other news, the Poptropica Creators’ Twitter (and other social media accounts) have recently been updated in a much more personal way with a new identity. The Twitter bio now reads:

The one and only official Poptropica Twitter account, moderated by Poptropica’s community liaison, Jessica (also known as Skinny Moon!)

The account’s avatar has changed as well. Gone is Zeus’ evil mugshot, and in its place is a shot of Skinny Moon, aka Jessica, the Creator who’s been running the Poptropica social media accounts lately. (Remember when we joined her Multiverse party?)

So are you all excited about the new island? Do you like the changes made to the Creators’ Twitter?

Until next time…

— Giant Hawk
