Hey Poptropicans, pop in for dinosaurs and doodles!
Home Island has a new ad building for the Netflix show Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous, with a chase game that’s a bit of a challenge! Your goal is to run away from a dinosaur, jumping over obstacles until you reach the end โ but if you hit three obstacles, you’ll start over.
If you’re successful, you’ll win aย Camp Cretaceous Merchย cap andย Camp Cretaceous Raptor Toothย necklaceย (which comes with an audible roar, and makes you sweat when you tap the spacebar).
Thanks to Dizzy Feather for contributing to this segment!
Here’s the latest in Poptropica’s Instagram stories! In addition to bodacious fan art features, the Creators also launched a Pop poll with the help of the Little Miss/Mr meme to ask about device preferences for playing Pop. It’s not the first time they’ve popped this question, but just like before, desktop (at 85%) wins over mobile by a long shot.
Last call for voting in the Poppies! ๐ Polls are open until this Friday, and we’ll be announcing the winners of our Poptropica fan awards this Sunday at 7pm EST in a spectacular slideshow. See you there! ๐ฅณ
Hello once again everyone! Spotted Dragon here bringing you the December recap for Community Creations. December’s theme was Goofball, so be sure to check out all the featured artists!
Wow, wow, wow! Now these are some great, goofy outfits! I love the unique approach to this submission, since the IRL clothing stands out against drawings. And, of course, both sides of Goofball Island are wonderfully represented here. Very creative! Which outfit would you wear? Find his Instagram here and check out his PHB posts right here.
Balanced Ending by ice cream
This submission also captures both Dullsville and Goofside quite well. It’s great to see them balanced together here and the fractured composition makes the design really captivating. Gotta love that contrast between the color and the black and white! Which ending did you guys choose? Find the artist often on Discord.
Detective Duo by Midnightoilstudio
Another fractured sort of composition! I dig it! I think we can all admit that it’s a really visually appealing way to showcase two sides of one character. With this one, I especially love how the black and white detective is actually seen on a colored background, and vice versa with the popsona, Vi. It shows excellent contrast and balance! Find her DeviantArt here.
Friendly Feather as Blandstonย by Friendly Feather
This piece focuses more on the Dullsville side of things, which is ironically refreshing, huh? The black and white pencil is obviously quite appropriate, but I especially love that pop of red in the eyes. I love seeing all these OCs put into the environment of Goofball Island! Not dull art in the least! Find the artist often on Discord.
Mel O’Dee by Barefoot Knuckle
Speaking of OCs, this Goofball specific OC is super cool. According to the artist, Mel O’Dee (a Dullsville singer at the Crazy Club) was “inspired by old detective movies and a certain Disney film.” Talk about a great drag name too! Love the creativity in this character. Can anyone guess the original song that this pop version is referencing? Find the artist often in the comments section.

Am I a Villain? by BrittScarlet
Great work as usual, everyone! Some goofy art, some dull art, but ironically nothing bland or boring to see here! Keep it up! ๐
January: How Do I Participate?
Community Creations is a cool series for anyone in the Poptropica community to join in on. To sum up what itโs about, itโs basically a chance to show off your artwork, creepy fan-fics, Pop clubhouses, costumes, and anything else that pops into your mind.
If we really like the piece you submit, we will feature it here on the PHB! As long as it relates to that monthโs theme. So what is January’s theme? January’s theme isโฆ
Arabian Nights!
Episode 2 of Arabian Nights was recently added to the Poptropica map, though for members only, so it’s definitely been on my mind. Perhaps this will lead to more beloved islands returning? Hopefully episode 2 will be available to all soon enough.
In the meantime, there’s nothing stopping the rest of us from enjoying the island through art! And writing! And costumes! And- well, you get the rest.
Submit: Comment below with a link to whatever youโve created, email it to the PHB team on our Contact page, OR share it with me (SydVC aka Spotted Dragon) on DeviantArt, Twitter, or Discord.
Results: Next month, I will feature 5 submissions that stood out to me the most as well as some honorable mentions.
Limitations: Just make sure you relate to both the theme and Poptropica (and nothing NSFW or otherwise inappropriate).
Due Date: I will take any entries before the end of this month. Submit as many things as youโd like!
I will be sure to let you know I have seen your creation. While quality counts, Iโm mainly looking for something to simply catch my eye, so donโt be afraid to join in!
So what are you waiting for? Go make something awesome!
Hey Poptropicans! We’ve got a little sneak peek and a load of fan art features coming right up โ let’s pop right in!
Remember the sketch of the wild baking sesh from a couple weeks ago? According to the Creators’ Blog, it’s almost time for this mini-quest involving Amelia and her friend who also has a statue on Home Island!
As the event looms near, she’s looking plenty calm sipping her tea, despite the chaos of a plane dropping boxes in the background…
Meanwhile, the Creators have been dropping a few hints for the forthcoming experience, saying: “you may have to go to freight lengths as a favor to Poptropicaโs leading lady.” Considering that freight pun and the sneak peek we just saw, we may be having some transport trouble delivering goods in the skies! Either way, prizes are promised. Stay tuned!
That wraps up this post! What are your speculations for what we might be facing in Amelia’s mini-quest? Who’s the mysterious fellow statued figure immortalized with her on Home Island? What tunes would you pair with Poptropica islands? Share with us in the comments!
Stay awesome and keep poppin’ on, Poptropicans! โ๏ธ
Hey, Poptropicans! Recently in the comments for my Ask Poptropica Siri series, PHB reader Silver Tiger challenged me to try and make a crossover of The Masked Singer x Poptropica. Here we go!
From left to right: Frog ๐ธ, Chameleon ๐ฆ, Sun โ๏ธ, Flower ๐ธ, and Peacock ๐ฆ
Since I couldnโt actually make any costumes on Poptropica from The Masked Singer, I decided to draw them as Poptropicans. But to start off, let me tell you a bit about TMS. It’s a fun, family-friendly TV show on Fox that appears once a year. Celebrities come on the show dressed up in funny, adorable, or wacky costume and sing for the judges, and there can be plot twists anywhere just waiting to happen. Try an episode!
Now since you know a bit about the show, let me show you some drawings I made of the characters as Poptropicans wearing the costumes. Here’s Fox (and you can check out a performance here)!
As for the characters in the first drawing, you can check out their performances on YouTube with these links: Frog, Chameleon, Sun, Flower, and Peacock. Also, check out the PHB’s How to Draw a Poptropican Guide for some inspiration in your own creations! ๐
And thatโs about it. I loved doing this challenge. What do you think of these performances? Share in the comments. See you soon! ~๐โ๏ธ
Hey all! It’s time for the reveal of the very first winners of Poptropica’s Costume Contest–which, if all goes well, will become an ongoing monthly event. All winning fan-made costumes will be free for all players to purchase!
Without further ado, let’s hear it for Bronze Eye and Shy Ghost (aka pinklightningmc) with their fashionable Love Potion Demon and Movie Geek costume entries! Personally, I can’t wait to see these fabulous ‘fits surface in the store. โจ
Bronze Eye’s Movie Geek (left) and Shy Ghost’s Love Potion Demon (right)
Faced with the Pop fandom’s awesome artistic talent, the Creators had a smidge of trouble deciding on only one perfect costume to feature and instead picked two winners. Choosing more than one entry isn’t a new trope in Pop’s frequent contests; but hey, I’m not complaining! The more costumes, the merrier. I’m excited to see what other sweet designs join these two in upcoming contests!
At the end of their blog post announcing the winners, the Creators also mentioned a new store makeover that was hinted at recently. The Baron’s Cabin of Curiosities will be arriving on Home Island any day now, bringing aforementioned fan-made costumes with it.
It’s certainly a cool-looking shop, incorporating elements of the gone-but-not-forgotten Monkey WrenchIsland. But are all these cosmetic features and makeovers really necessary? I’d go out on a limb and say probably not. Which is what the majority of us in the Pop fanbase will keep saying until those old Islands return…๐
All that aside, we’ve also got two new Instagram fan art features from the Creators! These pieces of art come from a.jbox and pinklightningmc (the same person who created the winning Love Potion Demon costume).
Well, that’s all we’ve got today, Poptropicans. Let us know your thoughts on the winning costumes, and the ever-so-slightly excessive shop and Home Island makeovers. Poptropica may not be half of what it used to be, but hey, at least we’ve got fashion. ๐โ๏ธ
