Old island makes a splash: Mission Atlantis on Haxe’s horizon 🎥🌊🐡

Hey Poptropicans, a classic island is making a comeback!

Poptropica recently dropped a new YouTube video offering a quick glimpse at something to come. It’s got bubbles and submarine pods — can you guess what it is? (Oops, the title of this post gave it away.)

If you’ve been around a while, you’ll probably recognize the beginnings of Mission Atlantis Island in this clip. Oddly, the original trailer video has disappeared, but you can watch the full clip in this old video from Thinknoodles, which also has Daily Pop sneak peeks:

Mission Atlantis originally released in 2014 and had three episodes, all of which disappeared in the transition to Haxe in 2020. (You can still play it on the Poptropica app, though.) In this island, players discover something amazing at the bottom of the sea… if only you can get inside and figure out how it works.

While Mission Atlantis may not have been as popular as other past islands, it’s nevertheless exciting to see that we’re getting closer to another classic returning to the Poptropica map! 🏝

Although the Haxe map currently contains only the first episode for other episodic adventures like Survival and Arabian Nights, we’re hoping that the rest of the story eventually comes along, too. And while we wait, join us in jamming to “Backspace,” our anthem for the old islands!

Also on the Creators’ Blog is another video from guest writer Invisible Ring, who picks up from her last post where she spotlighted Perfect Sky, a Poptropica fan movie creator on YouTube who is no longer active. This time, Ring shares how Poptropicans have been hoping for someone to continue Sky’s legacy, and how she could be that person.

So, inspired by Perfect Sky, Invisible Ring announces that she’s working on a “full-length movie,” and drops a trailer for her upcoming creation. “Poptropica: Battle Morale” tells the story of one little girl standing up to the winds of change in the Poptropica universe. Where others are pessimistic on Pop’s future, she’s optimistic, refusing to let naysayers have the final word. Watch it here:

The world of Poptropica could certainly use more hope, and “Poptropica: Battle Morale” might just be able to offer that light to the fandom. Best of luck on the movie, Ring!

Across the fandom, other stories are being told in still yet spectacular pictures. Just take a look at the latest fan art of haunting characters and places on Poptropica’s Instagram stories!

That’s a wrap for this update. Are you hyped for the return of Mission Atlantis? What about the upcoming fan-made movie? Have you started putting together your outfit for our Halloween costume contest? (It was retweeted by the Pop Creators!) Let us know what’s popping with you!

INT. PRISON HALLWAY – AFTERNOON

DIRECTOR D. and MADEMOISELLE MOREAU are leaving their office, both looking rather pleased and excited.

MOREAU

I’d say after that, I deserve a relaxing break for today. A nice bath, and perhaps they have some decent food hidden away here…

Red October sky from the Baron on high 🚁☁️

Hey Poptropicans, Red October is upon us! 💥🌚🩸

The Baron has made her landing on Home Island and brought her blood red aura everywhere. Let’s get off that dusty rock and go see what’s new!

As promised, the six winning designs from September’s costume contest have arrived at the Baron’s pop-up shop. Be sure to snag your Heart Witch, Pumpkin Punk, Will-O’-Wisp, Zombie Nerd, Midnight Kitten, and Phantom costumes for free, and while you’re here, consider the smiling and/or grimacing pumpkins (50 credits each) and Baby Jersey Devil plushie (300 credits) for your clubhouse. 🎃🎃

The Creators must be watching us, since Gentle Dolphin threw out the idea of a Jersey Devil plushie here just last week. But hey, while we’re punkin’ around, we’re still thrilled to see cool stuff in the game — whether it’s a clubhouse item or winning costume creation!

By the way, the Baron’s Red October makeover extends throughout Home Island! We know the Creators can’t resist polishing the dust off this rock from time to time, but we have to admit this fresh crimson paint is quite a mood. Even Amelia got in on the Halloween spirit with a unicorn headband that wasn’t there yesterday! 🦄🎃

The Red Baron and Red October atmosphere will be here all month. Enjoy the sinister spirit and playground aboard the Baron’s vessel!

The spooky vibes continue in Poptropica’s latest Instagram stories. In addition to Halloween-inspired fan art, Poptropica also promoted their Red October event and World Teacher’s Day. Are there teachers following Poptropica on Instagram? Now that may be a little eerie…

Anyway, that’s a wrap on this update. Happy (or should we say melancholic?) Red October! Pop on by Home Island and enjoy the Halloween vibes and costumes all through the month.

Keep popping on, Poptropicans! 👻

Member Gifts, Social Media, Store

Amelia’s not squidding around with unicorns 🦄🦑🎃

Happy spooky season, Poptropicans! In addition to the PHB’s special Halloween site skin, this update brings you store (and more) treats, plus tantalizing tricks through bonus dialogue and memes. Let’s pop in!

October’s mood is Halloween spirit, and Poptropica promises that this entire month’s store updates are going to be Halloween themed — starting now! At Adventure Outfitters, you’ll find tons of spooky costumes, and even more spilling over to the shop floor on both sides. Among them is a new blue Fuzzy Monster (Sully, is that you?) and the return of the Bubble Unicorn for members (you know Amelia, she loves her unicorns). See more on the Pop Creators’ Blog »

While we’re here for more treats than tricks, member gifts are here! Players of privilege can dress up with the Bread Head, Lion Mane, and Dino outfitsmatching with recent pet items.

After you’ve made your rounds at the store, consider paying Amelia a visit upstairs in her home. If you’ve completed Amelia’s mini quest, you can come back to her place to find her enjoying some tea. Strike up a conversation and she’ll talk about unicorns, naturally, as well as hint at more quests to come! 🦄☕️

Over on Twitter, Poptropica’s been playing a different game. Sharing images from the recent popular Netflix drama Squid Game, they created two memes about playing Poptropica beyond broken internet and reasonable bedtimes. Fortunately, playing Pop won’t get you eliminated because many islands themselves have already been decimated

Also fortunately, you don’t need to have watched the show (which is recommended for ages 16+) to enjoy these memes. Nope, new Pop might not have epic tribes like the Flying Squid, but at least we got these Stationary Squids for amusement. 🦑

That wraps up this post! Stay tuned for the PHB’s annual Halloween costume contest coming up soon — you could even get a head start by snagging the latest scary store styles. Pop on, Poptropicans! 🎃✨
