Pop-TROPE-ica: Top 10 Poptropica Betrayals

Hey Poptropicans, this is a guest post by White Fox. Enjoy!

Hey, Poptropicans! Today I’m going to talk about the Poptropica trope of us meeting cool characters who eventually betray us.

Off the top of my head, the first person who comes to mind when I think of Poptropica betrayers is the one and only Director D from Spy IslandHe played the part of seeming extremely trustworthy, because he could persuade everyone at the Spy HQ to do his bidding, and they thought they were doing it for the good of Poptropica. That’s why I was so surprised when I saw this:

So now you see why I have trust issues…

Now I have come up with 10 islands where someone you trust ends up being the bad guy. Okay, I’m gonna take a deep breath and list them all…

1. Mordred on Astro-Knights Island, after he became the Binary Bard and tried to take the princess.

The Life of Mordred: A Cautionary Tale

2. Director D on Spy Island, who secretly works for the B.A.D (Bald and Dangerous).

3. Zeus on Mythology Island, who steals your items after you worked so hard to gather them, and tries to take over Poptropica.

4. Dr Jupiter on Super Villain Island, who is Zeus in disguise and tries to take over Poptropica โ€” again!

5. The captain of the ship on SOS Island, who isn’t really a bad guy, but he kinda betrayed you because he caused the whole shipwreck in the first place but said he didn’t.

6. Ringmaster Raven on Monster Carnival Island, who tried to hypnotize the whole town. Well, the betrayal lies more in the fact that it turns out the carnies weren’t just regular people when night fell, thanks to Raven’s meddling monster-making!

7. Mr Silva on Shrink Ray Island, the teacher who tries to steal CJ’s invention.

8. Inspector Veuvre-noire on Counterfeit Island, or Black Widow, who attempts to steal “The Scream” painting.

9. Myron van Buren in Survival Island: Episode 4, who takes you in but has bad intentions in mind โ€” keeping you hostage in his log cabin and hunting you for sport!

10. The governor’s aide on Skullduggery Island, who, it turns out, secretly works for Captain Crawfish.

That’s all I thought up, but I might have missed some. Please put any others in the comments!

Because Poptropicans have been tricked and backstabbed countless times, it is often a surprise when you come across someone who actually holds up their end of the deal.

For example, the weight guesser on Monster Carnival Island. He actually gave you the bouncy ball. Since when do carnies just give away the prize? I guess they aren’t all cheap, lazy, and cheating, but all I got was a cup when I won the dart throwing contest!

Yay. My point is, Poptropicans are so often tricked on islands, it’s kind of hard to believe when people actually do what they say they will. A lot of people are suspicious in Poptropica. Next time you play a new island, don’t let anyone double-cross you… ๐Ÿ•ถ

That’s all for this post! Thanks for reading!

Peace,
White Fox

“The Villain Saga” – Episode 1, Part 2

(See previous)

FADE IN:

INT. EREWHON PRISON – MORNING

Looking at a door. We hear an elevator arrive down the hall.

A moment later, DR. HARE is escorted into the room by two GUARDS, both bald.

DR. HARE

So, anyway, I donโ€™t know who thought it was a smart idea to have an economy entirely supported by carrots–who is that?

Camera looks at a table, where MOREAU, D., and BARD sit. BARD is at the end in handcuffs, giving HARVEY his usual grin.

DR. HARE

Iโ€™m sorry, I thought we were just going to talk some more, not be interrogated by the Joker.

MORDRED

How amusing it is that you think I am the jester here.

DR. HARE

Youโ€™re literally dressed–okay whatโ€™s going on?

DIRECTOR D. motions for him to come. DR. HARE is led to the table, to a chair near BARD.

DIRECTOR D.

We want to see how you work together.

MOREAU

And weโ€™ll be meeting someone else soonโ€ฆ

(quietly, somewhat to herself)

…unfortunately.

Clubhouse Tour: Purple Paw ๐Ÿก

Hey there everybody, Purple here with a new addition to the popular series: Clubhouse Tours! ๐Ÿก

Iโ€™ve done multiple redos of my Clubhouse since the feature first arrived, and I think the style I have now might be the best version yet. Step on inside and see what you think!

I always feel like somebody’s watching me…

Upon entrance, you’ll find you’re being closely watched by a wide-eyed skull. Eek! Luckily it’s just a glass decoration…but it still has the tendency to give you chills.

Moving past this skeletal decor, kick off your shoes and make yourself at home! Be sure to place them on the shoe rack instead of leaving them lying around, as I like to keep my floors clean. Once you’ve done that, follow me; we’ve got lots to tour!

Jump, like the ceiling can hold you–

If you’re feeling energetic today, pop up to the higher left floor, where you’ll find an assortment of sports gear! Bounce on the trampoline, shoot some hoops, and admire the surfboard collection if you’re up for it. While you go about burning off your energy, stay hydrated with a cup of water from the machine; flipping on a trampoline sure does make you thirsty. ๐Ÿ˜…

I wonder what flavor of gumball I’ll get this time.

You probably worked up an appetite after all those sports — I know I sure did! Jump down to the kitchen below the sports area, home to a full fridge, a gumball machine, and multiple very tempting soft drinks and juices. Don’t mind the pet food on the table; my pet gecko’s got a bigger stomach than I do. He’s probably hungry too.

One Poptropican’s trash is another Poptropican’s treasure.

Before we tour the rest of the upstairs rooms, I’ll show you the very messiest part of my home: the Awe-Inspiring Artifact Collection, or, if you want to be less fancy, just the good ol’ junk pile. I’ve built up a high pile of oddities over the years from adventuring across the islands, and they all seem to end up in this area. A flaming phoenix, a guard gnome, the classic Legendary Swords rocket — messy or not, I’m quite proud of my haul.

๐ŸŽตSo throw those curtains wide, one day like this a year would see me right…๐ŸŽต

Up on the floor above my artifact heap is my bedroom, which simply screams that this clubhouse belongs to a half-cat. I do enjoy playing around with that yarn and lounging on the cat tower…as well as admiring my whiskers in the mirror…but there’s no time for that now, we’ve got a tour to complete! I guess I’d better throw those curtains wide and let some light in before we continue. What a view!

Nothing like a good nap to get your creative gears spinning!

Follow me up to the higher middle floor, my personal favorite: the relaxation room! This is the perfect place to nap, brainstorm, read, and generally take it easy. The shady palm trees provide a taste of tropical paradise, and you’ll never run out of books to indulge in on those shelves! I like to keep the curtains of this window closed to provide extra peace and quiet, although some sun now and then is enjoyable. A nice rest in that hammock really gives you a good recharge…I think I’ll take one after we finish this tour!

๐ŸŽตJust dance, gonna be okay, da-da-doo-doot–๐ŸŽต

Lastly, up on the highest floor on the right we have a multipurpose gaming room. This is the perfect setup to watch TV, play video games, and listen to my favorite music playlist on repeat through those speakers; and dance along, too! Iโ€™m planning on settling down in that comfy chair tonight to rewatch past episodes of my favorite show, Reality TV, with my glow-in-the-dark heart, moon, and flamingo. Maybe Iโ€™ll grab a soda and some snacks from the kitchen to accompany my RTV marathon…

Home, sweet home.

Well, it looks like itโ€™s getting late now, and weโ€™ve popped in just about every room, so I should probably wrap up this clubhouse tour for now! Let me know down in the comments what you thought of my redone home. โฌ‡๏ธ If youโ€™d like to visit my clubhouse in-game, friend me on Pop with the username PurplePawzz. Iโ€™ll see you all next time!

My Place in Poptropica: Golden Singer

This is a guest post from Golden Singer sharing her My Place in Poptropica story, which is all about oneโ€™s Poptropica journey. Enjoy!

Hi Poptropicans, this is a guest post by yours truly, Golden Singer! And Iโ€™m here to share my “My Place in Poptropica” (MPIP) story with you! Right now I am eight, and this is my first year on the Poptropica Help Blog. Enjoy!

2016โ€“2017 | Bored of board games

I was 4 years old and I was bored while playing boring board games. So I logged on my computer and just started playing online games. Thenโ€ฆ I saw a pop-up saying “Poptropica: play now.” So I pressed on it and it brought me to some game.

I pressed on “new player” and made my account, then I started playing! The first Island I remember playing was Monkey Wrench Island. Later, in 2017, I started buying stuff from the store, but didn’t get much. So I tried to beat more Islands.

Monkey Wrench Island

2018โ€“2019 | Rewind

I stopped playing Poptropica for a while. I forgot my password, so I had to make a new account. My first account’s name was Icy Horse, but now my name is Golden Singer. All the stuff I had was gone, and I couldn’t get them back, so I decided to finish the same Islands I did before.

Thenโ€ฆ I found the Poptropica Help Blog! I didn’t go on it as much as I do now, but itโ€™s ok โ€” I started beating more islands and it was fun!

2020 | The end of Flash

The end of Flash was kind of hard on me. All the island worlds I’d beat disappeared! I was kind of sad about that, but at least I still had fun, because Poptropica is fun.

2021โ€“beyond | The future

The future of Poptropica is coming, with all the excitement about the new things in Poptropica like the new Poptropica Islands. I’m looking forward to it all!

So thatโ€™s My Place in Poptropica. If you like this one, check out all the other MPIP stories on the PHB too. Bye!

Hope you enjoyed this โ€œMy Place in Poptropicaโ€ story! If you did, youโ€™ll probably enjoy our other MPIP stories here on the PHB.
