Hello friends, hope you’re having an awesome day! I know for a fact that Poptropica sure has been having an awesome month, full of elating events, colorful creations, and of course, beautiful beevs.
Speaking of which, last week the Pop Creators posted FOUR new Instagram story features! Two of these amazing pieces feature our favorite fuzzy doctor, and another was even created by the PHBโs very own Gentle Dolphin.
We love seeing the creators recognizing the fans and community. Which reminds me, 10,000 credits are still on the table as the Dr. Beev drawing challenge ends tomorrow! You can submit your Beev fanart by using the tag #drbeev, where you can also peep some of the submitted works.
The month of September has brought us some great new Poptropica content in the artistic realm. To keep the good times rolling, a new wave of videos have been published from fans! Me and fellow PHB author, Gentle Dolphin, have also been swept along for the ride as we couldnโt help but join in on the fun. Check out our Pop Month videos below:
Though it is a bit sad knowing Pop Month is coming to an end, we gotta give a big thanks to Theo and Isaac of Dimension Bros as well as all of the wonderful junior creators and fans who have helped make this truly a month to remember!
Let us know what you enjoyed most about Poptropica Month! Whether it was the art, videos, Beev Day, or just overall activity, we’d love to hear from you guys in the comments. As always, stay safe and stay awesome!
This post is going to be a bit different from our usual news updates and fandom spotlights, but we want to take a moment to toast and encourage you, Poptropicans of unprecedented and tumultuous times. Here’s to you!
In some parts of the world, now’s about that time of the year when students graduate and have ceremonies to celebrate the occasionโgatherings which now, of course, may not happen in person, or at least will look different than usual. So if you’re graduating this year (whether from elementary, middle, high school or college): congratulations! ๐ฉโ๐ And even if it’s not your turn yet, what follows is still for you too.
Here at the Poptropica Help Blog, we want to commemorate with you with a commencement speech of sorts, to remind you of the times we’ve had, to give you hope, and to send each other into the world to come. So we’ve donned our caps and gowns (from the Graduation costume available now in the store!) and prepared a celebration for you. Let’s roll.
Some of you have discovered this game only recently, and others of you have been around for literally a decade. Either way, we’re all part of the Poptropica fam, and that’s worth celebrating! ๐
It’s been a good long run, but things are different now. There’s uncertainty. We know that Flash will not be supported by the end of this year, and it’s resulted in drastic changes for Poptropica as they prepare for this futureโit’s meant islands disappearing and cosmetic and structural changes to the game. A fresh, challenging, solid island adventure seems a long way away.
And offline, there’s uncertainty too. Plans have changed, and perhaps you’re not sure what the next year or even the next few months might look like. But it’s okay not to know. What you can hope in is this: the world needs you, noble Poptropican.
Remember your adventures in Poptropica, and all that was gained from them. Love sacrificially, as the Vizier did for you in Arabian Nights. Find joy in wonder, like Salerno with her alien structures in Lunar Colony. Live patiently, as with your grind for the Phoenix Warbird in Skullduggery. Even when these islands fade, their legacy remains. So know that the giants you’ve faced, and the friendships you’ve formed, have prepared you to take on the world with courage, kindness, and yes, even greatness.
Have hope, because you’ve come this far. Have faith, because you are surrounded by people who believe in you. And take heart, brave ones, because you’re just getting started.
Life is made up of the everyday moments, and your part matters.
A new world awaits. Poptropicans, may you rise up to meet it.

p.s. While you’re here, consider sharing in the comments about how Poptropica has shaped you as a person! โญ๏ธ
Have you found yourself overwhelmingly bored in quarantine just needing something to keep yourself occupied? Try these fun little activities โ all thanks to the good folks from the Poptropica Creators’ Blog.
First, they’ve shared three downloadable/printable coloring sheets waiting to be brought to life of various scenes and characters:
There’s an ostrich-riding scene from Reality TV: Wild Safari, the infamous Dr. Hare from 24 Carrot, and an extended version of Poptropolis Games Island. I may do one of these myself and add it into this post later on. ๐
In addition to the coloring pages, we have a delightful word search game to complete, and it’s also downloadable for printing. Word searches are definitely one of my favorite pastimes. I’ve actually been doing a lot of them lately, so this’ll be great. Thanks Poptropica!
Hey Poptropicans, we’re in the beginning of a new month, which means another rotation of items at the store! And for March, the store has brought back some old favorite costumes and powers. Check ’em out:
Old-timers may recognize powers from the past like the Phantom*, Torch, and Hypno-Powder, while newer players may remember springtime outfits like the Rib Wrap, Navy Raglan, and Red Heart outfits, which were introduced last spring. Even suit-ups from the earliest days of the store are back, with classics like the Fairy Queen and four iterations of the Rock Star.
(*The Phantom is looking a little different from old times though… besides the disjointed appearance, you also can’t adjust your character’s opacity.)
However, more than half of all the current stock is for members only, including items that were originally available for everyone via credits. Still, some of the items which were rolled out last year for members are now available for all, such as the Mardi Gras Jester, Clover Kid, and Lilac Star outfits.
The Poptropica homepage has also been host to another little update, this one involving the login process. Now, clicking on the “Play for free” button in the middle will bring you straight to creating a new character.
To log in as usual, instead click the “log in” button in the corner (of the homepage or character creation)โwhich will pop up with this new login box.
On a more delicious, yet irrelevant-to-game-development note, the Creators also shared a pop quiz on the official blog to ask the all-important question: What’s the best Mardi Gras breakfast? Poptropicans have been casting their votes for pancakes or waffles in the blog commentsโand maybe crepes, too?
That’s all for this post! What other costumes and powers do you want to see return to the store? Want to weigh in on your favorite breakfast foods or the new login thingamajig? Comment belowโthe Creators might be reading!
Hey Poptropicans! First off, if you haven’t already, check out the new island, Reality TV: Wild Safari, on CoolMathGames! We’ve got you covered with our PHB island guide, too. You might enjoy the trivia section! ๐ฆ
But an island appears one day, and about 30 islands are gone the next. Yup, check your maps: all the old-school islands (non-SUIs) are gone. RIP. The good news is, you can still access them via idk’s Old Island Directory.
(Don’t be fooled by the page buttons at the bottom… these screenshots were taken before the great loss of our beloved Old School Islands, but they show which islands have survived the purge.)
(UPDATE): Even still, Poptropica is planning on bringing those islands back eventually. They were removed due to the older technology resulting in game bugs, but Poptropica’s working on porting them to newer tech!
We love those islands too, but need to update the technology. They were made in Action Script 2 and were causing a lot of problems for players. We're hoping to bring them back once the game is no longer in flash!
From the first page of the new map, you’ll also see that we have one tutorial (Monkey Wrench) replaced by another: Snagglemast Island.
Odd name, but it’s rather similar to the retired Hub Island from 2015, with a similar premiseโexcept instead of collecting shards, we’re collecting mega coins. However, the only coins I saw were all dangling in a bar at the top of the screen. You’ll also get to meet various characters and animals as you bumble along, and fellow adventurers may occasionally run past you in their pursuits.
In other news, the voting round of the Poppies is now over. Tune in on Friday at 7 p.m. Eastern for our awards party, in which we announce the winners via livestream and celebrate the PHB’s birthday in Poptropica common rooms! More details about the Poppies 2019 party here ยป
