Snowy gifts for members, retro games for hares, and fan art for beavers

Hey, everyone! The Pop Creators are continuing to thank their members during the “12 Days of Member Gifts” event. We already saw the first set of December gifts, so now let’s take a look at the new stuff so far!

On the second day of December, Poptropica gave members a gift fitting of 2020: Winter Masks. These festive face masks let players be fashionable in the game as well as remind them to stay safe IRL.

On the third day, members received the ultra cool Snowmobile, which can travel on any island whether or not it’s snowing. And most recently, on the fourth day, members met the short and stout Snowman Follower. Great additions to Pop’s collection of member gifts.

Moving on from member gifts, let’s take a look at some sneak peeks and shout-outs. Over on Instagram, Poptropica shared a new sneak peek for the near-complete Dr. Hare minigame. The video clip below shows some gameplay accompanied by a jazzy upbeat tune. In regards to the game’s title, the Creators have narrowed the list down to two names and will reveal the official title next week.

But enough about Dr. Hare. Let’s talk about Dr. Beev! The latest entry in the “Video of the Week” series is a speedpaint video by Pop fan artist Birdie Bea. Watch her draw this cool poster based on the fandom’s favorite animal-themed scientist.

That’s all for now. What do you think of the December gifts so far? What do you think the new Dr. Hare minigame will be called? Would you be interested in a Dr. Beev minigame in the future? Let us know in the comments below.

Thank you for reading, and have a good day!

Airing 30th for All: Escape From Pelican Rock!

Greetings Hawk-tropicans! This is Giant Hawk speaking, and today, I don’t actually have too much news to share with all of you. The little I have, though, is most certainly warranting of its own post.

First off, the Creators have announced, via the Creators’ Blog, that Escape from Pelican Rock Island will be out for everyone on Wednesday, December 30! You better get your digging spoons ready!

If you don’t want to wait, you can play Escape From Pelican Rock for free now on the mobile app!

Until next ti – Hold on a second… That’s not all!

On the Daily Pop, there seems to be a pattern Рor should I say, air pattern Рbeginning to form. Could these sneak peeks hint towards an upcoming Poptropica Island encompassing the idea of aviation?

Seems probable. The picture titled “Deplane” even suggests that this aviation theme is related to the jungle theme we’ve been seeing.¬†We might need a bit more to go on, though. In the meantime, you can catch up on even more sneak peeks over at our Daily Pop Archive.

Whatever we’ll get from the Creators soon, though, we here on the Poptropica Help Blog will be ready to bring the news to you!

Until next time…

Shrink Ray SUI: out for all Dec 4th! Ahhhhhhh!

Hey guys! Just a quick post to let everyone know that the sound-updated¬†Shrink Ray Island (SUI) will be out for everyone on December 4, which is this Thursday! If you’re¬†having a little trouble, check out our Shrink Ray Island Guide. Plus,¬†remember that the Shrink Ray (gun) is now free in the Store! ūüėÄ

In other news, since the release of the Poptropica App on Android, the amount of downloads has been amazing:¬†a rate of nearly 6,000 per day! Now that’s pretty cool.

The Creators have also released yet another piece of Poptropica art on Twitter (click to enlarge):

sneak peek

It’s a bit more difficult to tell what this is for. Along with the image, the Creators tweeted:¬†“Behind-the-scenes at Poptropica. We too get that busy, overwhelmed, confusing feeling.”

That also doesn’t give anything away, at least not for me. However, if this is not a sneak peek,¬†this could¬†just be something they put together for fun to lament the busy times. Then again, they did say “behind the scenes”, and the font used in “AHHHHHHH!” looks like it may be for Galactic Hot Dogs. What do you guys think? Comment below!

Well, that’s all for now! Stay popping, Poptropicans! ūüôā

PHB Sneak Peeks, Poptropica Portfolio

Poptropica Portfolio: Nate Greenwall

Shark Boy may have been alienated from Poptropica, but his alter ego (otherwise known as¬†Nate Greenwall, Poptropica’s lead graphic artist) is still out and about, churning out some¬†really cool (and even unreleased) Poptropica imagery.¬†They’re available for viewing on his¬†portfolio website¬†(scroll down for more info!).¬†Here’s a look at some graphics of interest (as usual, click to enlarge):

Wow, did you catch all that?! Anyway, Nate has several pages on his portfolio site dedicated to various works he’s created for Poptropica (not all of which are posted above, but some may be familiar). If you’re interested,¬†you can browse through them by clicking the links below:

  • Advertisements¬†– designs for Poptropica ad buildings & characters
  • Dr. Hare’s Lair – LEGO Cuusoo¬†– includes unreleased designs for a Dr. Hare minifigure
  • Papercrafts – from the LEGO Cuusoo campaign
  • Character design & animation – various Poptropica character designs (if you look closely, you’ll see the Sultan to be encountered on Arabian Nights Island!)
  • Posters & wallpapers – a selection of Poptropica wallpapers/posters
  • In-game illustrations – some full views of areas in the game, including the area by the sea in Ghost Story and even a palace for the upcoming Arabian Nights Island
  • Merchandise – among various things, the most noteworthy of all are the iTunes music CD covers and kids’ tattoos/face paint designs, both of which it looks like Poptropica is planning on releasing one day! (you can listen to Poptropica’s music at the PHB’s Behind the Scenes page¬†too)
  • Logos, web, mobile design – graphics relating to Poptropica’s user interface (UI), including an array of buttons and icons, some of which have never been released

There’s a lot of creative work that goes into making Poptropica what it is and what it will be, and the artistic geniuses at Poptropica give us beautiful results.¬†Enjoy the Nate Greenwall collection! ūüôā
