Getting our bear-ings on store and more 🐻

Hey Poptropicans, we come bear-ing a few bits of news: a mini-quest release date, a store rotation with a highly hyped item, and several works of colorful fan art. Let’s pop in for a look!

First, the Creators’ Blog announced a new mini-quest coming soon, and it’s coming up fast: this Thursday, May 13! The official sneak peek bearly gives you a hint for what’s to come, but in case you missed it, this little game had an accidental early release—so have another pic:

According to the official blog, this special event will be for all players and can be replayed for more credits, so get ready to rack them up!

Next up, the arrival of another week means another Adventure Outfitters store rotation! We’ve seen most of these at one point or another, but the Pastel Hoodie is new to Amelia’s store.

So iconic is the Pastel Hoodie that blue-haired Silent Frog, who appears to be Poptropica’s social media manager now, showed up on Pop’s Instagram with several stories hyping up the new look:

Speaking of IG stories, Poptropica also recently shared another round of vivid fan art pieces from the community, including a couple of interesting gender and sexuality-related headcanons for Black Widow:

That’s all for this post! Now go forth and bear Thursday in mind for that special event coming up, pick up your very own pastel hoodie in the store, and keep on popping on, Poptropicans. 🐻✌️

A new mini-quest?! May we bear witness? 🐻👀

Hey, Poptropicans! Gentle Dolphin here with news surrounding our favorite computer game. We’ll be taking a look at May’s new member gifts, some Instagram art features, and a mysterious new mini-quest. Let’s dive in!

A new month means new member gifts! The members of May will receive a colorful Rainbow Kite, a soaring Pump Rocket, and a somewhat dated LED Fidget Spinner. If you’re interested in owning these items, you can become a member by purchasing a membership or entering the PHB’s Free Membership Giveaway!

On April 30th, a new mini-quest appeared on Home Island but was deleted later that day. Where did it come from, and where did it go? Our theory is that the Creators accidentally released the quest too early then swiftly deleted it when they realized what happened. This is supported by a notification on the Messages app, teasing an upcoming mini-quest.

Here’s what we know about the quest so far: you encounter poor Ishmael on Home Island, who is being crushed by a sad momma bear. You offer to help the two by finding the bear’s five lost cubs in a snowy forest reminiscent to the wilderness of Survival Island.

It seems that you would receive something after completing this quest, but the game gets stuck on an infinite loading screen after you collect all five cubs. It’s good to know that the Creators are now taking the time to remove bugs for the final release, but it’s still strange how the quest got accidentally leaked in the first place. We’ll have to wait and see what the full quest has in store.

Last but not least, the Creators featured some more art on their Instagram stories. We have a dozen creative pieces ranging from Poptropica edits to illustrations. Look, there’s also some fan art for the new Fairy Tale Island!

That’s all for now. How would you rate this month’s member gifts? Do you have any thoughts about the upcoming mini-quest? Let us know in the comments below!

Thank you for reading, and have a good day!

This year, give the gift of Grapple-Pap 🎁

Heyo, Poptropicans! Big news: as promised, the festive Grapple-Pap side quest has appeared on Pop! After playing through it, I found it to be a very intriguing adventure. To begin, head across the wondrously snowy Home Island and speak to the man with a pile of presents.

He’ll ask you to deliver a gift to his sister. But before you accept the challenge, there’s one thing that needs to be set straight; what exactly is Grapple-Pap? According to the man, it’s ‘the time of year Poptropicans give gifts and merriment’. So it’s essentially the Poptropica version of Christmas! (I wonder what other holidays Poptropicans celebrate…)

If you’re feeling ready to go Grapple-Papping, respond with a ‘sure’ and you’ll be whisked off to start the adventure! Keep reading for a full guide with pictures below.

You’ll be in a very festive-looking town. Everybody’s dressed up in traditional Grapple-Pap apparel. Walk on up the road. You’ll pass by several townspeople getting ready for the holiday, including three jump-ropers and an ice-skater!

When asked where Clareta is, they all come up with generally the same answers. Nobody’s seen her for years, and they think that the Grapple-Pap got her. After all, if you don’t spread cheer, the great Grapple-Pap will get you for one whole year…very mysterious indeed. One will also tell you that the holiday is named after somebody called the Grapple-Pap! Finally, you’ll find a Poptropican who will give you a clue about Clareta. The baker up at the Salty Nugget tells you that Clareta lives in Cold Cliff Pass. An NPC wandering near the Salty Nugget will also warn you that Clareta has become ‘mean’ over the years…that can’t mean anything good.

Following the baker’s advice, go right to Cold Cliff Pass. There’s quite a bit of pretty winter scenery in this area.

It’s cold outside…

Keep walking down the hill until you reach a tunnel of ice with several floating platforms. There’s a stone block with an engraving on it; push it all the way against the far wall of the ice cave, and jump on it to reach the last platform. From there, climb onto the top slope and exit the ice tunnel.

Walk up a second hill and you’ll find yourself in front of a ledge with another stone block on top of it. Hop onto the ledge, and push the block off of it. Keep pushing it until you reach a very tall snowdrift. Using the block as a boost, climb up onto the snowdrift.

Go down another ice tunnel, and jump up onto a second tunnel above it, this one filled with snow and holly. There’s another stone block wedged in this tunnel, so you’ll have to push it out before you can proceed. From there, you’ll see a rope. Climb up it, and you’ll be in a blizzard; dangerous, yet beautiful. Walk against the blizzard down a hill–and, hey, there’s footprints in the snow here! Clareta must live nearby!

It sure is winter here.

Sure enough, at the bottom of the slope there’s a (rather rundown) house. Enter it.

Whoa, this house sure is creepy…just look at that huge, uh, whatever it is, hanging from the ceiling! But there’s a fire in the grate, so somebody must still live here. Walk through the house as far as you can go, past a huge bed with a bearskin on it, and you’ll see a piece of paper perched on a windowsill. Click on it, and you’ll see…

Aw, it’s Clareta and her brother (the man who sent you on the quest) at a Grapple-Pap years ago! Just look how young and happy they were…and it looks like Clareta is holding a Grapple-Pap gift not much different from the one you were sent to deliver to her. The two of them must have lived here together, at least when they were younger.

Once you’ve finished admiring that cute image, close it, and something quite frightening will happen. The bed behind you begins to shake…there’s a lump moving under the covers…and a very angry and bedraggled Clareta will burst out!! (Apologies for the horrible screenshot. I definitely wasn’t expecting something like that to happen!)

“I have a Grapple-Pap gift from your–“

Wow, somebody’s feeling nasty today. Clareta will scream at you to leave her house, which you, quite willingly, do. That Grapple-Pap’ll always get you if you’re not careful, as Clareta clearly demonstrated. But you can’t let it end like this…there must be something you can do to remind Clareta of the holiday spirit!

And, indeed, an opportunity presents itself! A very large pile of snow outside the house falls away to reveal a huge stone block with what must be the Grapple-Pap himself engraved upon it. Click on the block, and it’ll slide down the hill and crash straight into Clareta’s house! Oops…

Another scream will issue from the now-broken house, and Clareta will come outside and sprint away, promising that she’ll spread cheer. Run along after her.

Follow her back into the town, where she’ll be dancing (sudden change in mood, huh?) while holding a Grapple-Pop. She’ll thank you for reminding her what Grapple-Pap is all about, and gives you a Grapple-Pop as your reward. Congratulations, you’ve completed the Grapple-Pap quest!

Equip the Grapple-Pop and press space bar to turn everybody’s heads green.

Welp, that sure was a wild ride! Even though it’s not a full island, this side quest has really given us some insight on Poptropican lore and traditions. Overall, I think it’s pretty cool (pun may or may not be intended). But what do you think? Let us know in the comments down below! Merry Grapple-Pap!

A stroll down Halloweens past!

Hey guys, it’s Rainbow Dash here, and I’m sorry I haven’t gotten a chance to post very often lately. I am feeling much better, thanks to those of you who emailed me and such :). Lately I’ve been going in and out of places, and busy with some high school stuff if I get a chance to go to school for prolonged stretches of time; but enough about me.

The creators gave us a short and sweet reminder that Halloween’s getting pretty close, and I’m sure they’ve given us much already. It’s scare season, again! What better way to celebrate Halloween than by visiting the first Halloween based adventure that the creators unveiled… Haunted House!

This short quest will lead you through many puzzles and item hunts in order to solve the mystery of the old and worn down house. Trust me, there’s a really cool ending to it to match the spirit of Halloween.

Pick up Haunted House at the Poptropica Store today! You can enjoy old times again, or try it out for the first time if you haven’t played it before. So if you’re brave enough, go in and find out the truth. I promise you won’t be disappointed. If you need help, the Island Help page lists a guide, video, and info page for the Haunted House.

I know I’m certainly in the mood for Halloween :D. So what gets you in the mood for the season? I remember getting about a truckload of candy…then losing it to my pets a day later…did you know that the holiday was originally Hallow’s Eve? Western traditions were inspired by American and Medieval folklore such as Irvington’s The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, a book I’m currently reading. I guess you could say my favorite part about it would have to be “teenage witches” xD. Share your thoughts below.

RD out, have a nice day.

Two evil geniuses……one mini game. Can we do it? YES WE CAN!!!!

Two evil geniuses have entered Poptropica… what could be worse? Oh hi guys, just stopping in to say… NEW MINI QUEST! And new Einstein costume in the store, for 75 credits of course. If you get it, you can also read a chapter from the new book ‘Who Was Albert Einstein?’. (Isn’t he the guy that made E = MC2?) Here’s a picture:

Happy Birthday Einstein!

Albert Einstein was born March 14, 1879. To celebrate his birthday, there is an outfit that comes with a free chapter from a book about him called, “Who Was Albert Einstein?”
Now you can look just as smart as Einstein, as you think deep thoughts, and read about his life.To formulate a powerful equation, hit the space bar.
(You can purchase the full version of the book by Jess Brallier today! Click Here.)

Coskit: Einstein was born on March 14. 3/14. 3.14. The first digits of pi. Coskit’s (and Hijuyo’s) favorite number. I know…by now….314 digits of pi. Yes, 314 again. 😀

Neat Whale: Well, the Creators have finally opened up the new Dr. Hare mini quest that we have waited long for, even though that evil rude mind-controlling Dr. Hare is back anyway… but let’s get on with it… the quest costs 250 credits to play (CREATORS! WAY TOO HIGH!) the Haunted House quest was FREE! FREE I SAY! A FREE 50 CREDS!.. ..ok, ok, I’ll calm down now….. and here’s the guide that I wrote to help you all out:

1 – The quests begins! Jump up onto the rocks and ledges until you reach a metal-looking-ish thing with a Rabbot sign above it (that sign never stops scaring me) and a box of carrots on a rock near it (Not again!) Enter the building. Then you will appear in another metal looking room. Why all the metal, Dr. Hare. Just wondering. It makes your hideout standout. Get it?…Um ok yea moving on…

2 – Go right over a floating platform to the right, near an ad for membership (very nice, Dr. Hare. Ads. I love it.) Then you will come across a man with a pink eyepatch (not very manly sailor) pink lab coat (still not manly) and clipboard. Talk to him. He will tell you that you are in one of Dr. Hare’s secret lairs, he was a mind-slave of Dr. Hare, and that he made a very creepy looking robot to the right which will help him with evil plans. Again with the evil plans. Why not good plans? Why? Click on the robot cage to your right. You then say that you need three colored cards. Go back on the sliding-down thingy and go right once at the bottom. Click on the red Dr. Hare door.

3 – (This is beginning to seem a lot like the Race to Witch Mountain thing, huh?) Go right after the stupid annoying little laser like thing and get on the floating thing with a box. Then, let it pull you up until you’ve reached a platform with a red button at the end of it. Push the box onto the red thing. The blocked door above will open. Now, to get to the upper platform, go left and hide behind the carrot boxes from the guards (creepy looking right?) Then jump up, jump right, and get the red key card.

4 –  Now, go left above the bearded guard, and hop onto yet another floating platform with a box. When you come across another flooring, push the box onto it because it has the purple (purple is the best color in the world, just saying) button. Then go back on the floating platform and ride it up to the other platform with bearded guard on it, hide behind a box, and then jump up onto the now unlocked room with the purple card. (Purple is still awesome.)

5 – Now, go down down down. Below the entrance. Below the thing with more lasers. And ride another platform down where you have to hide behind another box from a weird person with an afro. A little farther over from you it the blue card slot. Now, ride the platform up again above the thing with lasers, and go to the edge. There should be a box at the end. Push the box off the end and it will smash on the ground near/on the blue switch. Push it onto it if it isn’t already on it. If you push it off the end like I did the first time, you’re dead and you need to start over. Now if it is on it, yaeeeey for you and run over on top of the other platforms with the lasers, onto the moving platform, into the room with the blue card, then you grab the blue card, scream with joy, ride the floating platform back up again, go out through the entrance… you get the main idea.

6 – Rush up to the top where the robot is, open it up with your cards, and–WHAT?! Only 50 credits?! RIP OFF CREATORS!! RIP OFF!!! And the costume only makes you a robot. Now where’s Dr. hare? I wanted to blast him off into space again because last time it was fun. Well? WHERE IS HE?! Wait he’s still in space? Awww mannn… 😦 Well that fun anyway zD

Hijuyo: Check out this sneak peek posted on the Poptropica Facebook page! It looks like it belongs on the upcoming Mythology Island. This sketch was filed under a photo album titled “The Making of Poptropica”, and the description says, “A palace fit for a king — or maybe somebody even more powerful than that.”
