Lunar Colony Island, New Islands

238,900 Miles Away From Home

The next island has been announced!  And, like you’ve probably guessed from the picture above, the island is going to be called Lunar Colony.  Looks like this is the space-themed island we’ve all been waiting for!

So I’m guessing from the trailer that the Poptropican in the space ship is either you or another Poptropican.  (I know, brilliant deduction, right?)  Maybe they were flying around in space, got hit by a meteor, and then crash landed on the moon.  And…maybe you have to go out and find them…and when you find them they’ve started a one-man colony on the moon…

Or!  Or, they could have a bunch of passengers in the ship and they are going on a mission to start a colony on the moon cause Poptropica’s become too polluted…  Like in the Disney movie Wall•E, except they’re not living in a spaceship they’re living on the moon…

I don’t know… All of my ideas sound pretty bad.  Anybody have any other ideas?

Some new sneak peeks and my return!

Hello, everyone, it’s Rainbow Dash here as some of you have remembered from the MLP craze earlier. Well, I’m not necessarily hooked onto that show as much as I had been before because of a number of new interests and vicissitudes in the past few months. The blogs changed much since I last looked at it, and hopefully I may be able to watch it grow as well.

Bonus Items, Twisted Thicket Island

Free Makes Everything Better

The Creators have announced that the Twisted Thicket Guide is now on the Poptropica Tips and Tricks app. If you’ve downloaded the app, make sure to update it and receive the Twisted Thicket Guide for free. Not only will you now have the Twisted Thicket Guide, but the rest of the island guides will also be free. They previously cost 99 cents each.

To download this app, you must have an iOS or Android device. Then, go to either the iTunes store or Android Market, depending on what your device is, and get it.

But remember, these aren’t the only guides for Poptropica Islands! Check out the Island Help page for help with any of the islands, as we have all guides up. If you also find the guides in the app are explanatory aren’t enough, we hope ours will be!

Uncategorized, Wimpy Boardwalk Island

A look behind the scenes.

The creators have released a few pictures of the ‘behind the scenes’ work behind the release of Wimpy Boardwalk. Such as this one, where Jeff Kinney, Poptropica creator and Diary of a Wimpy Kid author, gives some advice to some of the Poptropica designers.

From this picture, we can tell two things. (Well, I can anyway. You may be able to find more.)

  1. It takes a LOT of designers to make a Wimpy Kid island.
  2. The designers are able to decorate their station with toys, posters, and other cool stuff!

So when you play a new island, just spare a thought for the people who have worked hard to make Poptropica the best it can be! 😀

There is probably a great deal of relief and satisfaction (and maybe a little partying) when a new island is released. Look at these lovely, big smiles!

Say cheese!

Gorgeous.

Members can play Wimpy Boardwalk now. On the 18th of July it will be released to non-members. Remember, if you get stuck, you can always refer to our Wimpy Boardwalk guide! (Credit going to Shaggy Tornado, Super Thunder, Clean Shark, MT, and Slanted Fish!)

Cya guys!

PHB Sneak Peeks: Poptropica’s Unknown Glory

Hey Poptropicans! Ashley Lange, as you may or may not know from our Poptropica Creators Database, is one of the game designers for Poptropica. I recently came across her DeviantArt page, and after searching “Poptropica” in her gallery, I found…

Church by ~AshleyLange

As the title suggests, this appears to be a drawing of a Poptropica church interior, but since its upload on Dec 31, 2011, nothing of this sort has appeared on Poptropica… yet.

However, one of the comments she made on another Poptropica drawing (submitted Jan 11, 2011) offers some insight: “This is the art test – a drawing I made up to see if I could draw in Poptropica style – I submitted about a year and a half ago to Poptropica so they’d consider hiring me – and they did!”

Poptropica Rocks by ~AshleyLange

Nor has this one ever appeared, but perhaps it wasn’t meant to (see above quote). Looks to be in the style of Red Dragon Island though. 🙂
