Getting our bear-ings on store and more 🐻

Hey Poptropicans, we come bear-ing a few bits of news: a mini-quest release date, a store rotation with a highly hyped item, and several works of colorful fan art. Let’s pop in for a look!

First, the Creators’ Blog announced a new mini-quest coming soon, and it’s coming up fast: this Thursday, May 13! The official sneak peek bearly gives you a hint for what’s to come, but in case you missed it, this little game had an accidental early release—so have another pic:

According to the official blog, this special event will be for all players and can be replayed for more credits, so get ready to rack them up!

Next up, the arrival of another week means another Adventure Outfitters store rotation! We’ve seen most of these at one point or another, but the Pastel Hoodie is new to Amelia’s store.

So iconic is the Pastel Hoodie that blue-haired Silent Frog, who appears to be Poptropica’s social media manager now, showed up on Pop’s Instagram with several stories hyping up the new look:

Speaking of IG stories, Poptropica also recently shared another round of vivid fan art pieces from the community, including a couple of interesting gender and sexuality-related headcanons for Black Widow:

That’s all for this post! Now go forth and bear Thursday in mind for that special event coming up, pick up your very own pastel hoodie in the store, and keep on popping on, Poptropicans. 🐻✌️

A new mini-quest?! May we bear witness? 🐻👀

Hey, Poptropicans! Gentle Dolphin here with news surrounding our favorite computer game. We’ll be taking a look at May’s new member gifts, some Instagram art features, and a mysterious new mini-quest. Let’s dive in!

A new month means new member gifts! The members of May will receive a colorful Rainbow Kite, a soaring Pump Rocket, and a somewhat dated LED Fidget Spinner. If you’re interested in owning these items, you can become a member by purchasing a membership or entering the PHB’s Free Membership Giveaway!

On April 30th, a new mini-quest appeared on Home Island but was deleted later that day. Where did it come from, and where did it go? Our theory is that the Creators accidentally released the quest too early then swiftly deleted it when they realized what happened. This is supported by a notification on the Messages app, teasing an upcoming mini-quest.

Here’s what we know about the quest so far: you encounter poor Ishmael on Home Island, who is being crushed by a sad momma bear. You offer to help the two by finding the bear’s five lost cubs in a snowy forest reminiscent to the wilderness of Survival Island.

It seems that you would receive something after completing this quest, but the game gets stuck on an infinite loading screen after you collect all five cubs. It’s good to know that the Creators are now taking the time to remove bugs for the final release, but it’s still strange how the quest got accidentally leaked in the first place. We’ll have to wait and see what the full quest has in store.

Last but not least, the Creators featured some more art on their Instagram stories. We have a dozen creative pieces ranging from Poptropica edits to illustrations. Look, there’s also some fan art for the new Fairy Tale Island!

That’s all for now. How would you rate this month’s member gifts? Do you have any thoughts about the upcoming mini-quest? Let us know in the comments below!

Thank you for reading, and have a good day!

What Airways is really, and Billie ✈👩‍🎤

Hey Poptropicans! In this post: the secrets of Poptropica Airways (aka Paradise Island), Billie Eilish, and a store update. Let’s pop right in.

Fans have been wondering about a sneak peek of Poptropica Airways posted by the Creators back in August. Although we’ve covered what became of it here on the PHB, the Creators themselves never mentioned it again — until now. In an interview with Poptropica guest blogger Invisible Ring, they finally put some questions to rest!

The main question, of course, is “What is Poptropica Airways?” To that, they answered that it was basically an experiment to help decide what features to develop on Poptropica.

Poptropica Airways, also known as Paradise Island, was a beta experience we created to understand what features players today would like to see in Poptropica. It allowed us to test a new experience for entering the game, news messages, plus daily tasks and rewards. These tests allow us to quickly see what new players are interested in so we know if new features would be a good fit in Poptropica. The news system from Poptropica Airways has already made it into the main game and more features are on their way!

Poptropica Creators’ Blog

Hmm, wonder what other features from Airways/Paradise Island they’ll try to implement into the game? Early perceptions of Paradise were not too favorable, with some players considering it to be an inferior copy of Animal Crossing. Paradise doesn’t seem to be available anymore, but you can read all about it on the PHB!

They go on to say that it’s separate from Poptropica Worlds, is not a new story-focused island, but rather “a new type of Home Island,” is not a station for accessing special islands, and will definitely not be replacing the iconic yellow blimp. You can read the full interview on the Creators’ Blog, and catch up with Invisible Ring on our Discord server, the PHC!

Also on the Creators’ Blog is a fresh Video of the Week! This time, it’s a quick clip from TikTok user @tony_torres38 drawing singer Billie Eilish as a Poptropica character. Looks just like her with the iconic neon green, doesn’t it? View the vid on the official blog!

Last but not least, the store’s been rearranged! Not much is new from before, but the Swan Ballerina and Little Demon costumes were added to the mix. Plus, check out all the fun items in the pet store as well. 🐶

That’s it for this post! Thanks for popping by, and see you in the next one. Stay awesome, Poptropicans. ✌️

Legendary Swords, Store

Lights on for clubhouse, but what really happened to Legendary Swords?

Hello everyone, Fierce here with two updates: a clubhouse store update, and… the story of what really happened to Legendary Swords!

First, the clubhouse store was updated on Tuesday, featuring plenty of nice decor to add to your abode. There’s plenty of furniture this time around with 43 decorations, 13 of which are for members. Some highlights from this collection are the neon signs of a cactus and crescent moon, plus welcoming text signs, all sure to brighten up your clubhouse — figuratively and literally.

We’ve had quite the eventful month thus far, including a brand new Match 3 mini-game inspired by the classic Legendary Swords. Legendary Swords was a mini-quest released back in 2011, where your Poptropican was pitted against a race of robots led by the diabolical E. Vile. But, was this always the plan for this well-received adventure?

Veteran players may remember that, upon completing the mini-quest, a message would show up promising a Battle Arena coming soon. As time went on and this never materialized, the message eventually disappeared, even as the mini-quest stayed on.

Answers to this mystery recently came up in the Instagram comments on Poptropica’s post about Legendary Swords: Match 3. According to former Pop Creator James D. Lema (@jamesdlema, also known as Director D), Legendary Swords was originally supposed to be a 3-part series with aspects of being able to use swords from costumes purchased from the store. Sadly, after the Legendary Swords we all know and love was released, the team behind the project did not get the go-ahead to complete the entire series. Director D (Lema) wrote, “(It) broke my heart to not finish that story.” I don’t know about you all, but this too breaks my heart. Legendary Swords for me was such an adventurous and unique idea in the Poptropica world that completely worked, and having even more added to that would’ve been great.

That’s all as of now! Let us know in the comments what you think the other parts of Legendary Swords could’ve been like, had the team been greenlighted on the project. Also, don’t forget to mention which items you would personally include in your clubhouse.

Thanks for reading, and see you around, Poptropicans!

Legendary Swords

Swords up for a legendary new mini-game ⚔️

Hi there, Poptropicans! As was hinted at recently, a new mini-game—inspired by the long-lost Legendary Swords action quest—is here!

Though it’s quite different from the original action quest itself, it’s fun and addicting nonetheless. To access the new Legendary Swords: Match 3 game, go to your messages or find it on the map. Plus, read on for a full guide on how to beat it below!

When you start, you’ll be faced with a large board filled with different types of robot heads, the villain E. Vile, and other items from the original Legendary Swords, as well as some new bug-eyed creatures.

The objective of the game is to match three or more of the same item in a row as many times as you can to gain points throughout three rounds. You’ll see a time bar up in the corner. Each round gives you 60 seconds to gain as many points as you can, so move quickly!

To gain points, swipe an item so that it matches up in a row with two or more of the same items. For an example, take a look at this vertical row of one-eyed robots:

Three robots are stacked in a row. One robot, however, is sitting next to the row instead of in it. Swiping the odd robot into the empty space in the row next to it will award a good number of points. The more items collected in a row, the more points will be earned!

But creating rows of items isn’t the only way to gain points. As you match more rows and score more points, a small blue bar in the upper left alongside an image of your Poptropican will fill up, and the picture will start to pulse. When you see your picture pulsing, click on it for a surge of extra points, as well as an extra ten seconds on the clock!

Once you’ve clicked on it, the blue bar will empty and the Poptropican will stop pulsing. Keep matching rows and gaining points to fill the bar up again as many times as you can!

Another good way to gain more points and time is using swords. There are two types of swords that sometimes come up: the Rusty Relic, which will give you at least a few extra seconds and points, and the Bolt, which is even stronger than the Relic and will give you even more time and points. These swords don’t need to be matched up in a row like normal items, so swipe them any which way to collect your points and time.

At the end of the three rounds, you’ll be shown a list of the top three ranking scores, along with your own score!

2nd place — not bad! 😎

Now you’re ready to get out there and master this mini-game! What did you all think of Legendary Swords: Match 3? Was it the fun challenge you’d been hoping for, or was it too poor of a representation of the original mini-quest to please you?

And, if you did try it out, what final score did you achieve? Share with us in the comments down below!
