Poptropica is filled with a variety of islands, each one unique with its own stories and characters. Explore island tips, trivia, and other extras through our blog archives!
Excited for the upcoming Lunar Colony Island? The wait won’t be long now, as the Creators have announced that they are putting on the last touches. Just in time with current news, as you may have heard that NASA’s Curiosity rover has landed on Mars. As for the new Poptropica island, members will get to play first with early access.
PHB reader Muddy Axe shared with us this interesting picture from an article about Top Toy Trends of 2012:
Pictured:ย These goofy Poptropica figurines and plush toys are designed by Diary of a Wimpy Kid author Jeff Kinney and each item unlocks extras in a dynamic online island-based gaming world built just for kids.
If you look closely, some of the toys shown are currently not out yet. (Click here for the official Poptropica toys page.) On the right, we see the unreleased keychain plushes of a black-haired boy and ginger-haired girl. Maybe we’ll see them soon.
Where did that saying come from? Who knows? But I’m sure it means somewhere along the lines of “an imaginary figure resembling the counterpart of a man’s face.” Sounds confusing, but if taken literally… that’s where the new sneak peek comes in on the Creators’ Blog today.
So, I guess there really is some kind of man on the moon. In the picture there’s not much, except that we can obviously inference it’s on a moon-like surface…and obviously the moon. xD
There’s some sort of moon rover mean to traverse these rockyย environments. And in the bottom left there’s a meter. My guess is that it’s either the speed or fuel, though PHB reader Fuzzy-B points out that it looks like the EMF Detector from Ghost Story Island. In the top right we see a grid, possibly serving as a navigation tool. So my guess this links with the upcoming Lunar Colony. I guess now we know the moon may play a key role in all this.
Well, I hope everyone else is enjoying the week with the Olympics and all. ๐ I also started watching Sabrina, which is a small note to explain my avatar change. I know, I know. It may be meant for “smaller” children and naive at times, but don’t judge just because I like cartoons. xD I mean, it’s pretty fun sometimes. Thanks, and enjoy the games, everyone!
Hey PHB, it’s Slanted Fish here. If you’re a regular visitor here, you probably know that this site’s URL was blog.poptropicahelp.net. However, it’s expiring and unfortunately, there have been some issues with renewing it.
Therefore, effective August 24, we’re (sadly) no longer using that URL. (We still continue to own poptropicahelp.net, though.) As you can see, we’re currently reverting back to our original link, poptropica.wordpress.com! Just like old days.
Repeat: No longer using blog.poptropicahelp.net; the PHB link is going to be poptropica.wordpress.com.
ย Be it Poptropolis Games or London 2012 Olympics, everyone loves to watch the greatest athletes fight for the gold.
Come with me and you’ll be in a world of pure imagination
Take a look, and you’ll see into your imagination.
We’ll begin, with a spin, travelling in the world of my creation
What you’ll see will defy explanation
If you want to view paradise, simply look around and view it
Anything you want to, do it
Wanta change the world? There’s nothing to it.
Hey guys, BT here. Now you MIGHT be wondering…
“Why the heck did she include a song from a 1970’s movie in this post?”
Well, that 1970’s movie just turns out to be Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. In 2005, a remake directed by Tim Burton was seen by many. And maybe in 2012, Poptropica decided to revamp the story to make it an interactive experience?
Squirrely: We don’t imagine there’s a moose anywhere around here.Fruity: The juice is loose!Ramshackle: Life among the underclass.Oh, Fudge: Who is this great big greedy nincompoop?
There could be more Daily Pops relating to this, but those were the ones that stood out to me as Wonka-related. And the most obvious ones, at that. I wonder if this island’s quest would have to do with rescuing the 4 kids that ended up in tight situations (I’m talking about Augustus, Violet, Veruca, and Mike). Besides, I don’t remember the part in either movie where Augustus is seen on a conveyor belt covered in strawberry-flavored chocolate coated fudge, because it wasn’t in the movie.
I could be right. I could be wrong. It’s a prediction, and we’ll have to see. In the meantime, we wait for Lunar Colony’s release for members and demo for non-members. And the members get to have those special gold cards.
The Alien Archaeology card leaves a pretty tall pillar scripted with a peculiar alien language. And by alien, I mean outer space alien. The moon rocks card creates random moon rocks scattering across your screen. And the costume is-well-a costume.
The release of these island-specific gold cards give us the hint that Lunar Colony will be available soon, but not exactly when. We’ll find out soon, won’t we?
As you can probably guess, this is a post about some more of the creators’ favourite island. And as you can tell I desperately wanted someone to say Mystery Train. It is WAY my favourite island. Alas, it has not happened.ย Let’s just show you.
