Summer Poptropica Worlds House Tour: Invisible Ring ๐ŸŒž

Hey Poptropicans, this is a guest post by Invisible Ring. Enjoy!

Oh hi! Great to see you again! Do you like my new book lounge? I was just trying it out! Now that I have toured the halls of my Poptropica Worlds clubhouse, itโ€™s high time I explore my two extra rooms. Letโ€™s see, which one do I pick first, door #1 or door #2?

Iโ€™m going with door #2. It just feels easier to start with the colorful one before I go into the dark and daring zone.

Hey, wait, when did this red painting and striped sofa show up? โ€” oh yeah, I set it up the same time I set up my book lounge! Heh heh, Iโ€™m so forgetfulโ€ฆ well, enough chit-chat. Letโ€™s do this!

Yeeee-Haw! Good mornin’, buckaroo! Whaddaya plan to go ropinโ€™ for today? โ€” oh wait, I got another idea! Just have to get it outta my dresser drawer andโ€ฆ there!

Sayโ€ฆ you look fabulous! Youโ€™ll be the star of the Saturday night dance party! …Oh wait, itโ€™s not nighttime yet. What else have I got?

I got an adventure outfit and a shiny outfit. What other outfits do I have? Oh wait, how about this one? Itโ€™s both shiny AND adventurous! Wow, I think my sister was right. I DO look like an Amazon warrior! …Ooh! Warrior! Got another idea here! This is gonna be great!

Here we go! ARRRGH, look alive, ya scurvy scallywags! Thar may be intruders on board this vessel and I want the whole lot of ya toโ€ฆ YIKE! Have you been watching me the whole time?!

(Come on, Invisible Ring, pick it back up!) *ahem* …Welcome aboard, me hearties! I didnโ€™t hear you come in there! Well, perfect timing, buccaneers, โ€˜cause I just finished suiting up. Let the cabin tour commence!

In me cabin, I have a very important treasure. Aye, itโ€™s golden indeed, and… whatโ€™s that? Where is it? Ye may find some of it amongst the thicket hereโ€ฆ..Whatโ€™s that? Ya want to know what me treasure IS?…. Aye, you asked for it, sea pups!

Ohhh… Do what ya can with what ya got, have any of you have heard that a lot?
If yer bored and the day is new, and you are just wonderinโ€™ what to do,
Then come on along! Come on with me, and maybe youโ€™ll see things the way I see!
Take a glass and slam it down! Stomp yer feet and strum up a sound!
Be ready for anything, take a stance! The music will start, and you gotta dance!
Put a smile upon yer face! Walk around like you own the place!
All you need is a sense of fun! Before ya know it the magicโ€™s begun!
Put yer mind to it then youโ€™ll see, adventureโ€™s the best treasure that can be!
Like all yer booty itโ€™s hard to find, but never give up and take yer time!
But if ya think Iโ€™m being absurd, yer on yer own, ye scallywag! WORD!

That was fun. Now ya know where and what me treasure is. Now onward! We have another floor to explore, mateys!

Welcome to the hangout! The perfect place to hang out, hang around, run around, bounce around, monkey around โ€” anything you want! You can even ride a giant butterfly like Iโ€™m doing right now! CHARGE, Monarch! Let’s overthrow the governor agent of Captain Crawfish!

In this part of my cabin lies the best spot to relax after youโ€™re through with the wild ways of a pirateโ€ฆ or even if youโ€™re done talking like a pirate, because I think Iโ€™m done with both! I think I should grab a book from over there and relax for a while.

Hey, this bed is bouncy! Haha! This is even more fun to dance on than the upstairs jungle!

Bounce around with all your might, grab your sword, and put up a fight!
Chuck the balls and drop the books, rip the jackets right off the hooks!
Swing around and clang the bell! Off the top with a GREAT BIG YELL!

Ha-ha-haaarrgh, heh heh… This is great! …huhh…hoooโ€ฆ Now Iโ€™m all worn out. Well, at least I can take a breather on this bookshelf and look out the window for a moment.

Wow! I never thought I would say this, but I think I need a nap now. This hammock is the best place to do it, so I think Iโ€™ll make myself comfy andโ€ฆ

Hey! Thereโ€™s something really sparkly coming from out the window! Oh, wait, itโ€™s just the beach. But it looks a lot shinier than usualโ€ฆ Forget the hammock, I gotta get outside and check it out!

I thought so! Itโ€™s the perfect day for a beach day!

Man the cannons! Fire one! CANNONBALL!

*GASP* Blithery Blathery Icicles, that was colder than I โ€” wait a minute, where did my hat go? And I think I got some seashells stuck in my hair, too.

No matter. I can go back up there and dive down again and find my hat and โ€” Whoa! What the-? Did I just… change intoโ€ฆ a mermaid?

Random Guy: Bravo, mermaid pirate! Perfect 10! How did you do all that?

Me: Um… Thanksโ€ฆ and… I have no idea. I think Iโ€ฆ gotta go back inside now.

Well, that was interesting. I wonder how that happened and how I can become a pirate again. Maybe it will come to me later on. Now, where was I? …I feel like Iโ€™m forgetting something on this tour.

Oh, I know what it is! Ice cream! No beach day or vacation tour is complete without ice cream! Yay!

Well, tourists, I hope you liked the summer-style tour. Now that Iโ€™ve had my ice cream and my indoor and outdoor fun, Itโ€™s time for a nap on the hammock now. Have a great summer, and if you want any ice cream on the way out, thereโ€™s enough upstairs for all of you. See ya next time!

Pop Fan Artist Spotlight: Barefoot Knuckle

Hey Poptropicans! We’re featuring the storied drawings of Barefoot Knuckle. Hear about them from the artist herself in this guest post!

“Modern Rapunzel” (Fairytale Island style)

I always imagined Rapunzel being preoccupied with videogames and other tech-related stuff so she wouldn’t have any time or interest to escape the tower! Apparently she made it outside, but she seems to still be drawn more to the world of Mario than the real world surrounding her. I also took inspiration from the gamer costumes in the Poptropica store, animal hoodies and pajamas, plus sleep/lounge wear. I figured Rapunzel doesn’t own anything but comfy clothes to wear around the house. And of course she would enjoy adding multi-colored highlights in her hair! So what ifย noย one sees it?

“Modern Beauty and the Beast” (Fairytale Island style)

Beauty and the Beast has got to be my favorite fairytale and it’s not just because of the movie! The original story was amazing as well and I was excited to draw Beauty as a quirky, shy girl with a green thumb whoย doesn’t seem to mind gardening in the new gown her host gave her. Speaking of which, although you can see his horns, the Beast seems to only show his bird-masked face as he’s hiding behind his new friend. The garden was really fun to draw and in the background you can see a crow in a birdbath, the castle behind the garden gates and the pink skies of Fairytale Island in the distance. This art is mostly inspired by the original fairytale, but the box Beauty is holding is a reference to the actress who played Beauty/Belle in the original Disney classic. But from what we can see, the only book this Beauty is carrying is about gardening.

“Modern Aladdin” (Fairytale Island style)

Aladdin has to be my second favorite fairytale! I was debating whether or not to do this since Poptropica already did Arabian Nights. But, what if the Aladdin story acted as a sort of bridge between Fairytale Island and Arabian Nights Island? So after that thought, I gave Aladdin an updated look to match the sneak peeks of Fairytale Island, complete with a trench coat and jeans! However, Aladdin’s scarf, makeup, and hair look kind of familiar to someone we know. If the picture isn’t enough of a clue, refer to Disney’s Aladdin 3: The King of Thieves and the deleted song, “Proud of Your Boy.” You might realize what the connection is, though I mixed it up a little to fit the Poptropican canon. Also, since the original Aladdin fairytale took place in China, I added the Chinese stone bowl from Time Tangled Island in reference.

4. “Marshal Dixie” (Wild West Island, main OC)

Wild West Island is another fan favorite of mine. When I was developing the idea for a Wild West Island novel, I wanted the main character to be unlike anything there had been. And so, I developed the concept of an anti-hero named Dixie (or her other alias, pickpocket Rattlesnake Rhonda). I took inspiration from movies like Rango, McLintock (starring John Wayne), and Briscoe County Jr. A 14-year-old teenageย pickpocket trying to keep her cover by posing as a marshal and trying to tame a horse just as stubborn, clever, and wild as she is, just seemed too good a story to pass up. Of course, though she and Elmer start off at each other’sย throats, they eventually team up to stop El Mustachio Grande’s gang and become a force of good to be reckoned with. I mean, Dixie added Elmer to her Sheriff portrait, so they had to have become close at some point. You can see some personality through Dixie’s mischievous expression while using her prank pistol and Elmer’s unamused face.

“Dove” (OC)

Remember when a Pop Creator said that the forest art for Monster Carnival was a mix of creepy and beautiful? Well, while Ringmaster Raven shares the creepy half, his daughter, Dove (my OC), has the beautiful half. She was based on the real life character of Joseph Merrick, who, unlike Bird Boy, was taken in and cared for beforeย he became the toast of English society. He was also known as the Elephant Man because of his disfigured body. Dove, like Merrick, was taken in and cared for, unlike her estranged father. The only trait she has that makes her stand out from the other Poptropicans are a pair of shiny black wings she was born with. Even though she was mocked and ridiculed by others, she has a beautiful, sweet, and sassy disposition, as well as the voice of an angel. She rose to become a famous singer and is often compared to aย real life angel. I love drawing her in her 50’s casual dress and her ringmaster outfit. I was going for an appearance inspired by The Greatest Showman as well as the hidden gem of a movie, A Monster in Paris. These two drawings go together.

“An Astro-Knight Night”

This was completed years ago and was one of my first Poptropica drawings. I wanted to capture the Princess’s point of view, looking out into space, and her love for astronomy. This took like two days to make. Those planet designs nearly killed me.

“The Shakespeare Club”

This was completed right alongside “An Astro-Knight Night.” Really, this was just a comedic piece. I will say, I was not skilled in the coloring department when I made this. My parents did laugh at Gamer Guy’s review though. Imagine what would happen at those meetings! Of course, Max McPatrick (from Mocktropica) would lead the group (with special assistance from Napoleon Dynamite) but how they got Hades to pose for the poster, I’ll never know.

“One Eyed Chavez” (OC)

While thinking about creating a series based on Poptropica, I started asking the question, “What kind of original characters could be featured in such a series?” I then came up with the idea of a bounty hunter named One Eyed Chavez, who keeps crossing paths with Oliver, Mya, and Jorge (from Mystery of the Map). At first the kids don’t know what to make of her, even though she helps them thwart Octavian on one occasion. It isn’t until Jorge, after getting separated from the team, winds up in the hands of Chavez, who after revealing herself as Debbie Luches, explains to Jorge that she is stranded in Poptropica just like he and his friends are. Though she doesn’t plan to leave her life inside this complex world, she does become a mentor for Jorge in many ways.

I was going for a battle-worn, scrappy look with just a touch of feminine beauty peeking out behind her scars and armor. My main inspirations were from Mandalorian and the Bad Batch characters from Clone Wars (series is great btw). Though she doesn’t show much emotion, the scar and eye patch are a visibleย sign of the hurt and pain she experienced in her past. Her purpose in the series is to help Jorge learn to be strong and appreciateย theย people (mainly his parents) in his life while also teaching him to fight and skillfully fly aircrafts (unlike the way he did in The Secret Society). She is an important part to Jorge’s development, so when he says in the graphic novel, “Guys, I just realized something… You’re the best friends I’ve ever had,” it feels earned and helps the creator (me) know that Chavez filled her purpose.

“The Princess and the Raven”

I don’t know what gave me this idea, but I thought they would be cute together. This is my first Raven/Bird Boy drawing I’ve ever done so I tried to makeย sure itย lookedย great! I thought Snow White was designed beautifully in Fairytale Island, and she has been one of my favorite princesses since I was little, so of course I wanted to draw her. Besides, since her true love is animals, I’m sure she would want to befriend someone who is technicallyย part animal/bird. Plus I think she made a good impression on him, soย I think he’ll behave for her. Again, she did say animals were her true love and he isย part bird, soย ๐Ÿ˜‰ it’s possible.

That concludes this Pop Fan Artist Spotlight! If you liked Barefoot Knuckle’s work, you’ll enjoy the many other forms of Art from the Poptropica community. Check them out and consider sharing yours!

Clubhouse Tour: Silver Tiger ๐Ÿก

Hey Poptropicans, this is aย guest postย by Silver Tiger. Enjoy!

Hello Poptropica fans everywhere! My name is Silver Tiger. I am a newer player to Poptropica, but have learned a lot and been inspired by the Poptropica Help Blogโ€ฆ so I decided to contribute to it. Here we go, welcome to my first Poptropica clubhouse tour!

Alright, how about we start this off by taking a quick right to my puppy playland. This is where my slightly spoiled husky puppy named Jet spends his time! Letโ€™s see, he has his own special puppy bowl, puppy food, puppy bone, spacious puppy mini house, puppy night light, and pretty much everything in my house! Maybe slightly spoiled isnโ€™t the right word…

Okay, now to the left! Over here is my ice cream machine, also known as: sugar rush, anyone? Also my comfy chair and my pictures of my invisible friends are located here too. Basically this is where I go to hang out. WHAT IS THAT?! Oh, yeah, my collection of super villain action figures are here too. Phew, just action figures! But just in case they come alive, I have my camera and Amelia to keep an eye on them.

Above me is my bedroom. My warm pink bed and my collection of Harry Potter books are here, so I can just sit in bed and binge-read all night! Also notice my three stylish night lights. No scary night monsters are sneaking up on me!

If you go up again, you come to my workout area. I can play football, basketball, volleyball, and soccer. Oh, just in case you’re wondering, I have a basketball hoop over to the left but it was hard to include it in my screenshot. My punching bag is here too, so I can get super buff. To stay hydrated, I have my own water dispenser. And last but not least, Steve, my warrior suit of armor is here to remind me that when playing sports, you must be valiant!ย ย

Here is my garden! Does anyone know the names of these plants? I only know the cactus and palm tree. One thing I wish is that Poptropica would have more jungle-like plants for sale in the clubhouse shop because it would be fun to add a rainforest feel to the place. It would be really cool. And I am not just saying this because I want to yell โ€œTarzan?!โ€ every time I walk in!

So now our last stop is my gaming floor. Here I can play Poptropica or blog to my heart’s content. Then I can take a break by staring at my fake jellyfish named Strawberry and Blueberry, or by riding on my hoverboard. If I get thirsty, I can grab a cup full of ice cold slushie to soothe my thirst.ย

Well, thatโ€™s my tour! Since I have never blogged before I would really appreciate feedback. If you all have any tips or ideas to make my future blogs better, feel free to tell me in the comments! Thanks!

Hope you enjoyed thisย guest postย by Silver Tiger. If you did, you might also enjoyย other Poptropica clubhouse tours we’ve shared here on the PHB!

My Place in Poptropica: Incredible Fire

This is a guest post from Incredible Fire sharing her My Place in Poptropica story, which is all about oneโ€™s Poptropica journey. Enjoy!

Hi everyone! Iโ€™m Incredible Fire and this is My Place in Poptropica. Letโ€™s get right to it!

The year was 2014 or 2015 and it was almost summer. The sky was blue and clear, as California was in the middle of a six year drought. I was at my friendโ€™s house for lunch and she introduced me to this wonderful little game called Poptropica. I loved it.

Drydock: This one’s gone to ground.

The very first game I played, right there, was Mystery of the Map Island. Until then, I had never played a game like Poptropica. A lot of the games I played were platformers or time management games with some storytelling elements. But the focus was always on the gameplay. With Poptropica, I could truly immerse myself in a story while also playing a pretty fun video game. (I first experienced this from the choose-your-own-path Henry Stickmin games.)

The gorgeous and fun tropical art style really appealed to me, and it still does to this day. Mystery of the Map is by no means universally acclaimed, but it will always have a special place in my heart. I made my first account that day, and Iโ€™m still using that very account.

Run Aground: Whatever floats your boat.

When I started playing, there were so many islands that even in my immense free time, I actually never finished them all. And I played a lot. It was my go-to game whenever I got any time on the laptop.

After a year or so, Poptropica stopped working for me, and it seemed like I would never finish the game. In a couple of years I moved back to India where I was absolutely sure it would never work again. But I never forgot Poptropica. It was still my favorite game. When I first started playing, I looked to Thinknoodles for help, but since I prefer written guides, so then I discovered the PHB. And Iโ€™ve been following it ever since. Even when I wasnโ€™t playing, I still kept up to date with the PHBโ€™s latest posts.

Thankfully, Poptropica started working again after Poptropica Worlds came out, and I was grateful for the chance to finally finish the game. I finished most of the islands, but then began what I would call the downfall of Poptropica. I actually really liked Poptropica Worlds, especially compared to the dumpster fire that is, unfortunately, Haxe Poptropica. It really started falling apart with Greek Sea Odyssey, which I found very lackluster. Thatโ€™s about the same time Poptropica laid off a lot of its senior staff, so take from that what you will.

Greek Sea Odyssey on Poptropica Worlds

During the pandemic, I had a lot of free time on the computer. All my life, Iโ€™ve never had an online presence because the internet is a weird place with stranger danger. Those are still very real concerns. But I felt like the PHB was a very safe, friendly environment. So I finally took a plunge and joined the PHB on Discord (also known as the PHC).

I actually had a lot of fun and made some friends on the PHC. I loved getting to know and sometimes even helping creative people: artists, bloggers, writers, YouTubers. But after having an unpleasant experience on other, less friendly sites, I decided to go back into my shell. I still occasionally comment on the PHB, and I may write guest posts like this every once in a while.

Playing Poptropica today isโ€ฆ disconcerting. I really miss the old, good quality, polished game. Although it still makes wonderful art, I miss what made Poptropica my favorite game. The stories. The fleshed out, whimsical, sometimes silly stories.

Basket Case: What a deflating voyage.

Iโ€™m not as old as the Poptropica veterans, but I have grown up a bit since 2014 or 15. And somehow, California is still in a drought. Poptropica brings me back to my childhood, though not with its recent direction of treating players as children in need of handholding, if you know what I mean. I love Poptropica, but I donโ€™t know if it can make a comeback, considering the track it’s on right now. But Iโ€™ll always have great memories of the game and thereโ€™s always hope.

Itโ€™s difficult to end this post, considering my journey with Poptropica hasnโ€™t ended. Iโ€™m still finding my place. But Poptropica will always have a place in my heart.

Pop on,
Incredible Fire

Adventurous Poptropica Worlds House Tour: Invisible Ring ๐Ÿก

Hey Poptropicans, this is aย guest postย by Invisible Ring. Enjoy!

Hey everybody! Surprised to see me? After my complete collection of Poptropica clubhouse tours, I wasnโ€™t sure I was going to post anything else here. But when I looked at the comments section of my last tour, I was suggested to try Poptropica Worlds next, so here I am!ย

Like with Poptropica Original, I gave my Worlds clubhouse a recent makeover. I made a video of what my Worlds house looked like before I changed it, so it can be compared with my tours. What do you think?

It’s time for me to get down from this swingset and get into my clubhouse!

So this is what my clubhouse on Poptropica Worlds looks like, huh? Hmmm… I like the lighthouse painting and aquarium, but I wonder about that map. I canโ€™t quite put my finger on it…but I think it looks just like the map of Skullduggery Island!

Speaking of skullduggery, I think I want to watch a pirate movie!

…oh no, not again! Do I not have a remote for this TV either?? I have a bone to pick with whoever is in charge of all the clubhouse TVs. If we donโ€™t get remotes, there should at least be an on/off button on our TVs. Otherwise, how the heck are we supposed to watch โ€˜em?!

Oh, well. Moving up to the second floor… hey, itโ€™s dark up here! …wait a minute, itโ€™s dark out there, too! This place is REALLY giving me the creeps…

Oh, look, a door. Normally, I wouldnโ€™t think twice about going in that door and seeing whatโ€™s inside, but not this time! Iโ€™m NOT looking for trouble around here. Iโ€™ll use the rope over there and move up to the third floor instead.

Holy smokes! Is this the top floor of my clubhouse? It’s incredible! It looks just like an ancient fortress or the inside of a warship or… something thatโ€™s mysterious and awesome. It feels like I just traveled back in time!

I like how that Athena statue is pointing right at that map! I can almost hear her tell me, โ€œGo forth, young warrior!โ€

Ok, Iโ€™m ready to go forth and open this door โ€” Aw, snap, itโ€™s locked! Open Sesame! …Doggone it, it wonโ€™t open! Maybe these musical instruments will help… no? Too bad I donโ€™t have my reed pipe with me, I bet that wouldโ€™ve opened the door!

And on this side of the museumโ€ฆ it doesnโ€™t feel like that adventure hallway over there.

I think this feels more like a warrior hallway. There sure is a lot of Viking stuff on the walls, and it looks like this knight wonโ€™t let me through that door. Not that it matters, though, itโ€™s locked anyway. Perhaps Iโ€™ll just sit here for a minute and finish sightseeing. Then Iโ€™ll keep exploring!

Iโ€™ll just drop down like a ninja and… GERONIMO! Woohoo! Perfect landing right on the bouncy chair! WHEEEE!

That was fun. Hey, wow! Look at that! This is COMPLETELY different than that dark hallway over there. I bet whatever is behind that door is gonna be just as great as whatโ€™s out here! But Iโ€™ll have to come back to it later. Iโ€™m not quite done with my tour yet.

Another garden? Cool! If I buy more plants and trees, I can make another indoor jungle to explore! It seems sort of controversial to pair it with the skyline painting and rocket lantern up there, but then again, I can pretend Iโ€™m on a cross-country adventure! Yeah!

…This could make a great movie. I should’ve taken the movie director from my first clubhouse tour with me.

I’m back where I started already? Wow. That was quick. But why am I surprised? I know for a fact that Poptropica Worlds’ clubhouses are years older than the Poptropica Original clubhouses. I bet that’s why these Worlds clubhouses are that much smaller.

What am I going to do with my two bonus rooms on the second floor? I’d better root through my closet and think of something quick! …um…

Thanks for joining me, hope you enjoyed my tour, and Iโ€™ll be back soon to share the other two parts of my Worlds clubhouse tour! See ya!

Hope you enjoyed thisย guest postย by Invisible Ring. If you did, you might also enjoyย her many other Poptropica clubhouse tours, such as this dreamy one!
