Rainbow Pup with Reverts on Pop Outfits 🌈

Hey, is that a rainbow in the skies of Pop?

Just a hair of one — the Baron’s back in Home Island airspace and carrying goodies including the free winning costume design, Rainbow Pup by Hamburger Hamburger! 🐶🍔

Also in the Cabin of Curiosities, you’ll find three new clubhouse items: Dino Head (75 credits), potted Cactus (75), and Cards and Candles (75). Enjoy the Baron’s visit — it’s only going to last “a short while”!

In other news, the character customization screen has gotten a little update! Now, selecting a costume will bring up its image in larger detail, with a “Costumize” button to begin picking parts from it like before.

This time, though, a new gray “Revert” button will appear when you try something on. You can use it to undo your item selection and go back to the way you looked. Pretty handy! (Thanks to Friendly Feather for the tip.)

We’ve also been graced with a little reminder that Poptropica has been working on bringing back old islands, in the form of a TikTok/YouTube short featuring Arabian Nights, Ep. 1, although the video title references Ep. 2. Either way… yay! Let’s keep the episodes coming for all.

Anyway, that’s what’s up for now. See you in the next one!

Crusades, cozy couture, and more

Howdy doodly Poptropicanos, it’s LJ with more Poptropica current events!

First up, it’s the return of The Baron’s Crusade side quest! It was back in October when we first traveled to uncharted territories with the sly sky pirate. Now, it’s back if you missed out and is available to all players.

Head on over to the Baron’s Cabin of Curiosities to begin your quest and get a chance to visit her super secret clubhouse. It sounds like we Poptropicans have an adventure waiting for us.

Moving on, two more member gifts have made their way into every member’s inventory: Cabin Cozy PJ and Crystal Couture. Well, I recognized Crystal Couture and it turns out the shawl is a recolor of the Winter Girl 2 outfit that appeared in the store some time ago. 😛 Anyway, only three more gifts to go!

As usual these days, the creators have shared some more lovely art by fans on their Instagram story. I’m always happy to see the Poptropica creators recognizing their fans and interacting with them by commenting and liking artists’ posts.

On Twitter, Poptropica decided to call out Thinknoodles to get his opinion on Goofball Island in this tweet below:

It’s random but I’m totally here for it. His Poptropica content was a big part of a lot of our childhoods and it seems the current social media manager for Poptropica is aware of his previous presence as well. I wonder if he’s going to make a playthrough or walkthrough video. What do you figure he’ll think about Goofball Island? 🤔

Lastly, all items in Poptropica’s Zazzle store— from stickers to masks to hoodies— have all been discounted 15%-25% off!

What a great way to get in the holiday spirit! Get your favorite pieces of merchandise as soon as you can to not miss out on these deals. Not sure which item to get? Maybe you can read some of our reviews which Poptropica linked in their blog post.

And with that said, today’s news has concluded. Thank you all for reading and I’ll talk to you guys in the next one. Pop on!

Grapple Gifts and Gear Galore 🎁🎁

Happy Grapple-Pap, everyone! It’s time to celebrate Poptropica’s latest holiday tradition! Home Island is now a winter wonderland decked with colorful lights and crates, and the Baron is here with Grapple gear to spread some holiday cheer! ☃️❄️

The Baron’s Cabin of Curiosities is stocked with holiday décor and costumes galore! On your right, you’ll find some Grapple-Pap goodies such as a Grapple totem (150 credits), a stained glass chandelier (150 credits), a mistletoe garland (50 credits), a Grapple bust statue (150 credits), and a traditional Grapple-Garb outfit (50 credits).

Among these Grapple goods, you’ll find the three winning costumes from last month’s poll: Love Potion Demon, Ice Cream Cat, and Movie Geek. If you missed these costumes the first time around, now is your chance to get them for free! 💗🍨🍿

On your left, you’ll find Maroon Moon’s Dr. Hare outfit, the winning design of November’s costume contest. All players can sport this casual look inspired by Poptropica’s most iconic villain for free! 🐰🥕 The Baron can’t help highlighting her generosity if you talk to her.

Now that this hare-raising look is available in-game, the Pop Creators finally posted a video showcase of November’s costume contest entries.

Among last month’s submissions are awe-inspiring animals, Christmas costumes, and… Rick Astley. Now that’s one that’ll never let us down. Anyway, here are my favorite entries from this reel:

By the way, ask the Baron where her Grapple-wares are from, and she’ll mention a place we’ve never heard of: Kraghorn Island. The Baron says it’s not on our map, but might there be a future adventure there like the Baron’s Crusade? Maybe she’ll take us sometime; we’ll see!

In contrast to the Baron’s festive findings, Amelia added two spooky costumes to the Adventure Outfitters gallery: the bewitching Wicked Wizard outfit and the members-only Dark Wizard outfit. While these villainous vestments appear new to newer players, they actually debuted back in November 2019 during Home Island’s wizard makeover. New or not, both of these bewitching looks cost 350 credits.

Along with celebrating Grapple-Pap, members can celebrate the 12 Days of Member Gifts. On the first day, they received winter garlandsnow globe, and deer decorations to deck their clubhouse halls. Then, on the second day, they received violet, gray, and blue beanies to keep their detachable heads warm.

Day 3’s gifts aren’t here at the time of writing this post, but a strange development occurred. While I was on Poptropica today, I discovered that Day 1’s member gifts disappeared from my inventory. It turns out that these initially free decorations can now be purchased from the clubhouse store for 100 credits each. What’s the reason for this happening?

To end off this extensive holiday post, we have a new ad for the Disney Channel original movie “Christmas… Again?!” Watching the short ad gifts you two prizes with special spacebar actions. You can ride around and rev your engine in Ro’s Race Car, then summon a snowstorm, err, flurry with the Mall Santa Suit. 🏎️🎅

This was a lot to cover, and there’s always more news popping into our feeds. Stay tuned to the Poptropica Help Blog for all the latest Poptropica news and more!

Thank you for reading, and have a good day!

Baron's Airship, Mini Quests

Treasures laid for the Baron’s Crusade 🗺☠️

Ahoy, Poptropicans! The Baron’s side quest is here as promised, and it’s available to all players. Read on for a spoiler-full walkthrough!

To get started, meet the Baron in her quarters, a new room you’ll find aboard her big airship. Head inside the Cabin of Curiosities and open the hatch below the Baron’s throne. Under the shop, you’ll find the Baron poring over maps. She’ll ask you to join her in digging up treasure on a secret island that’s not on your map. Accept, and off we go!

You’ll land on the shore of a quiet island that feels kinda like the final scene of Skullduggery Island, where OG Poptropicans would have beaten Captain Crawfish to a hidden treasure. Curiously, the Baron later mentions that the treasure we’re now looking for belonged to the captain! (Is he still alive…?) Anyway, head up the hill and enter the cave.

(Sighting secrets: In the water, there’s a purple alien orb reminiscent of Mission Atlantis, while in the distance, we can see the skull-shaped rock of the Pirate Outpost from Skullduggery. Thanks to Ammonite for the tips!)

Inside the cave, the Baron follows you. Head right, skipping over all the gaps until you reach some greenish stone. From here, head downwards, watching out for the poison darts that will knock you back. When you touch water, swim left until you come across a lever. Click on it to lower the water level, which allows you to swim right to the next lever by the barred hole. Click that and the water level goes down some more, allowing you to swim all the way left, where you’ll find the next puzzle.

You’ll come face-to-face with a giant stone wheel with mysterious markings on it (is that a % sign?). But don’t worry about that — the Baron’s got it under control. While she’s the brains of this operation, you’re the brawn. With the Baron’s trusty wrench, you’re all set to whack any “guards” of the treasure… and here they come now!

A mini-game will start, and it’s basically whack-a-mole with skeletons popping up from any of the nine large holes under the treasure wheel. You’ll have to move your view back and forth as you can’t see all the holes at once. The skeletons don’t go away easily either: they have to climb out quite a bit first before smacking them has the desired effect, but you can’t wait too long, or you’ll have to start the mini-game over.

Once you successfully hold off the skeletons long enough, the Baron will unlock the wheel, revealing a treasure vault full of gold, gemstones, and Captain Crawfish’s hat and sword. For your part, she’ll share 500 credits and a pirate costume with you. Congrats and enjoy!

Back at the Baron’s, you can learn more about this daredevil sky pirate through conversation as well as exploring her home, just like in Amelia’s side quest. Speaking of Amelia, there’s tea to be uncovered…

Over in the top right corner of the Baron’s quarters, there’s an abandoned little box with a unicorn plushie and frame jutting out. Click on it and you’ll see an old news clipping behind smashed glass, with a photo of Amelia and the Baron together like best buds. The headline from the Poptropica Times reads, “Local Adventurers Save the Island.”

What fractured their friendship? For now, the Baron reveals only that she had a crew once, and that “trust is hard to come by.”

There’s more to discover around the Baron’s quarters. What surprises have you found? Read on for more trivia and theories!

Baby Ack plushie, golden Rumpelstiltskin, and more treasures await…

To the left of the Baron, you’ll find her fearsome portrait with first mate Ack the monkey, and a familiar green skull that activates the whack-a-mole mini-game from earlier (just for practice!). Playing the Baron’s Bucket of Bones earns you 50 credits per completion, much like “Clear the Skies,” the plane mini-game on the airship deck.

Head down to the lower floor and you’ll see a map on the wall that shows the Baron’s been looking for a “golden city.” Could this be a hint for the upcoming Secret of the Jade Scarab Island, which involves archeological digs for treasure? At any rate, the map bears some interesting port names (potential relations in parentheses): Yoller or Holler (a loud shout), Mustang (sports car), Rhe or Rye (grain), Sanders (Bernie or Colonel?), Omamora (close to omamori, Japanese luck amulets), Lagos (Nigeria’s largest city).

You can also scan through titles of books on her shelf: Lost Cities of Poptropica, Grappling with Grapple-Pap, Into the Maw of Glowbhax: In Search of the Island Devourer (perhaps a reference to Haxe, which did kind of devour many islands). The Baron sure likes her myths legends.

Also in this corner nook, you’ll find a framed photo of the Baron and Ack inside a bank, throwing money down to people on the street. Robbery with a Robin Hood twist? Anyway, there’s another pic of this adventuresome duo beside where Ack sleeps, and it’s adorbs.

Thanks for joining us in exploring the Baron’s Crusade and cabin! What did you think of this side quest of skullduggery? Do you have theories about the Baron’s history with Amelia, or any other aspects of her life? Share with us in the comments. Happy sailing!
