Hey Poptropicans, pop in for treasures, a contest, and some fan art!
The Baron has landed, and Jade and Goofy are the flavors of the season. ðŠēðĪŠ Enjoy the memorabilia from the latest Dream Islands, Jade Scarab and Goofball, totaling 550 credits for the whole haul.
The trend continues over to the left with a jade-colored boxer wearing a goofy grin! Boxing Barb by Nervous Star, the latest costume contest winner, comes in three parts including gloves and shoes, all free for taking. Get them while you can â the Baron doesn’t stay long! ðĨðĨ
Speaking of the costume contest, the next round has kicked off! You’ll have from now until June 21 at 8 p.m. PST (11 p.m. EST) to share your original outfit ideas. See the Pop Creators’ Blog for details Âŧ
Rounding off with some costume design inspo, here are the latest fan art features from Pop’s Instagram stories! âĻ
Hey Poptropicans, the Baron’s back with tons of treasure! ðīââ ïļ
Head inside the airship’s Cabin of Curiosities to stock up on an assortment of gems from the recently released Jade Scarab Island. Get them all for a total of 1,260 credits. (That’s 90% less than the going rate of a camel tour… what a steal!) ðŦ
Ask the Baron â happily adorned in a probably pillaged Egyptian Pharaoh headdress â how she acquired such things, and she’ll dismissively wave your concerns away while managing to throw in some shade at you and Amelia. (She may not share her secrets, but you can dig deeper on Jade Scarab with our island review or the trivia in our guide!)
Don’t sleep on the free outfit from the costume design contest winner: Vamp Rock by Sleepy Owl. Be sure to pick up the free pair of boots too!
Plus, enjoy the costume entries from April’s contest in the video compilation reel below. So many super styles!
That’s a wrap for this update! Pop on over to the skies of Home Island to grab these goodies before they’re gone… the Baron won’t stay long!
Hey, Poptropicans! Yesterday’s big announcement certainly grabbed our attention, but let’s not forget the other stories lost in the shuffle.
The Red Baron is back with new treasures for all, so let’s climb aboard and check them out. Head into the Cabin of Curiosities and check out the winner of March’s costume contest: Spa Day by Chilly Feather!
The soft robe, cucumber face mask, and drink make this the perfect thing to wear after a long day of exploring Poptropica. This free ‘fit also comes with an equally free pair of pink bunny slippers, which the Creators clarify are not made from Dr. Hare. Sure, Creators, we’ll take your word for it… for now.
The Baron seems to have taken a liking to this particular costume, as she can be seen wearing the same cucumber face mask. She’s chillaxing after finding some fancy footwear. Players can purchase Grey Loafers, Red Shoes, and Yellow Flipflops for their feet as well as a Shoe Rack for their clubhouses, all of which cost 100 credits each. ðð
But wait, there’s more! Members can check out April’s member gifts: a pair of Butterfly Wings, a Butterfly Follower, and a Baby Fox Follower. This gift pack definitely fits the ongoing spring season, but I can’t get over how everything is so… orange. Not sure what you guys think about color choice, but five year old me would have loved these. ðð§Ą
The hype for Poptropica’s Steam release has officially begun! On social media, the Creators released their first hint at one of the returning islands: “Don’t be shocked when life gives you lemons.”
Hereâs the very first Steam hint! Cast your votes â which island could this be? ðĪ pic.twitter.com/JY0XVY9iCD
The two most popular guesses so far are Survival Island and Shrink Ray Island, which use lemons in certain puzzles. The player powers a radio with a lemon battery in Survival Island: Episode 3, and CJ writes a secret message with lemon juice in Shrink Ray Island. Which classic island could this be referring to? ðĪð
Finally, the Creators featured a meme redraw by Instagram user happyclonetrooper aka Maroon Ring. Don’t worry, Maroon, we’re sure that Pop’s Steam game will have plenty of medallions for you to collect.
That’s all for now. What do you think of these new items? Which islands do you hope will appear in Pop’s Steam port? What do you think of the color orange? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
Hey, Poptropicans! We just received more details about Pop’s upcoming Roblox game. If you have questions about island inspiration, gameplay, or other miscellaneous details, then you’ve come to the right place.
Many fans speculated which classic island inspired this little collab, with the most frequent guess being Monster Carnival. While our guesses were close, Pop’s debut Roblox game is actually based on the similarly spooky Zomberry Island! ð§ââïļðŦ I guess the swan threw us for a loop. ðĶĒ
This crossover event will pit humans and zomberries against each other in an all-new multiplayer experience. Considering the fact that zombie games have a great presence on Roblox, it’s easy to see why Zomberry Island was a prime candidate for a Roblox spinoff. However, it would have been nice to see another island get the spotlight since we got the Zomberry Hero event less than two years ago.
Some fans might also be disappointed that this game won’t prominently display Pop’s storytelling capabilities. While I don’t play or watch anything relating to Roblox, it seems storytelling is not Roblox’s main priority. Plus, we hope the best stories are being saved for Poptropica’s main projects.
Update: Turns out the following featured image is just fan art. Still cool nonetheless!
We also got an inside scoop outside of the Creators’ Blog. DataSigh, a 3D modeler for Roblox, revealed a 3D recreation of Poptropica’s iconic yellow blimp on Twitter. The model looks great, and I can’t wait to see what it looks like in the game!
DataSigh’s tweet also included one of my own Poptropica illustrations. The original tweet did not credit any artist for the illustration, but proper credit was added after I asked for it. I’m honored that my art was featured by a game developer even if I would have appreciated credit from the beginning. That begs the question: why was fan art included and not any official Poptropica images? ðĪ
According to their Twitter bio, DataSigh works for Dubit, a games studio with a slight connection to Pop: a former Pop Creator published an article about the game on Dubit’s website back in 2013. It’s possible that Poptropica hired Dubit to create the new Zomberry-inspired Roblox game, or DataSigh might just be a Pop fan â another Roblox project they shared was a boat combat systeminspired by Skullduggery Island.
Before I sign off, here’s a reminder that today (March 11) is the last day you can visit the Baron’s airship and purchase the latest collection of curiosities. Grab every item to your liking before the Baron sets off on her next adventure!
If you want your costume design brought to life in Poptropica, why not submit it to March’s costume contest? You can enter via social media or Poptropica’s submissions page until March 21 at 8pm PST/11pm EST.
‘Allo Poptropicans! I am back and so is the Baron’s Airship, with 24 Carrot magic in the air~
Hop aboard and grab the most recent costume contest winner: the De-Man by Striped Thunder. (It’s free as always.) Remember these contests are held monthly, so there’s always a chance for you to join!
On the other side of the Cabin of Curiosities, there is also some memorabilia released straight from 24 Carrot Island. If any of you want to decorate your clubhouse like that classic island, now is your chance! The full set includes the Carrot King Diner’s Booth (50 credits), Table (50), Hanging Lamp (50), Salt-n-Pepper Shakers (10 credits), Exit Sign (50), and Carrot King Sign (100). ðĨ
Also off to the side, you can grab the returning Gothic Cheerleadercostume for 100 credits. Dark yet alluring.
Over at Adventure Outfitters, we have some new items for the upcoming St. Patrick’s Day, the holiday of lucky green. âïļ
This includes a returning Leprechaun Costume and several green furnishing items for your clubhouse. Does the “wear green” rule count in Pop if your home is decked out in it? ðĪ You can also opt for the Mardi Gras JesterCostume which technically has some green.
Also, here is a whole paragraph just for that lion plush because it is so cute. I’d want one IRL. ðĶ
March member gifts have also arrived, sprouting a Flower Crown, Crazy Bee Follower, and Flower Bow. Perhaps Poptropica could have a prettier and less deadly Hunger Games in the future.
The official Instagram also shared more memes, art, and mixes of the two, including my own piece remembering the classic Astro-Knights Island (soon to have its release anniversary in April)!
And that’s all! I’ll get back to working on that Mordred piece now. Do you have any cute or cool ideas for future members’ gifts? And how are you going to “go green” on March 17? âïļ
Until my next news update, The Villain Saga post, or Astro-Knights ramble â see you around.
