Fan Art Features, Social Media

Top tier cheers from your Pop peers

Hey Poptropicans! We’ve got fan art features, Poptropica Month inspo, and more — let’s pop into it!

Poptropicans have been hard at work creating as always, and besides the usual OCs, we’re also seeing Pop Month plans and entries for the Baron’s Red October costume design contest in the latest batch of stories from Poptropica’s Instagram. Take a look:

Speaking of Pop Month, the fan-run festivities have only just begun, but they’re already gaining traction!

If you’re looking for some participation ideas, TheOrangeHelium just released a 2021 updated top tier list for Poptropica islands, where you can categorize all the islands (including individual episodes, mini quests, and more) according to your preferences. Enjoy!

We’re wrapping up this post with a vintage-style Poptropica bandana! This versatile sheet is available IRL through Pop’s merch store, and it’s a beauty. The PHB’s Spotted Dragon recently shared her review here, and her review also just came out on the Creators’ Blog this week.

And even if you can’t get your hands on the real thing, we have a lovely Wild West Island ASG for you!

Keep on popping on, Poptropicans!

Baron's Airship, Social Media

Baron’s back with birthday bounty, and fans kick off Poptropica Month 🍰

Hey Poptropicans! The Baron’s back, and so is Pop Month! With Poptropica turning 14, let’s pop into the September celebrations!

The much-hyped return of the Red Baron’s airship is finally here, and inside this sky pirate’s temporary Home Island landing, you’ll find the costume contest winner, the Shooting Star Hero, freely up for grabs. The arrow really does shoot a star! 💫🏹

Beside this outstanding otherworldly outfit, you’ll also find a call to the next costume design contest, which is already underway! This time, there’s a twist: this “Red October” contest will have 6 winners chosen to be made into the game for the Red Baron’s next pop-up. Check out the Creators’ Blog for more details »

Also on the shop floor, you’ll find various other goodies for sale: the Old Cheese (50 credits), Elf Queen costume (50), Hero Fountain (150), Bit-Pig (50), Bit-Cake (50), and even a free Big Cake costume! 🍰

The total bill if you’re grabbing everything is only 350 credits, which is much lower than previous Baron visits and can easily be settled with the 1,000-credit reward from Amelia’s mini quest. Seems like our Pop Petitions have paid off once again!

In other news, September means it’s Poptropica Month! Pop Month, if you haven’t already caught onto the hype, is a month-long fan-run event of sharing Poptropica-themed videos to a common playlist hosted by the Dimension Bros on YouTube. Check the deets:

Besides YouTube, you can also participate on Instagram by tagging @dimension_bros. The PHB’s Gentle Dolphin has already come up with a fun little reel showing off colorful Pop outfits with a jam! 🎨🎥

For more Pop Month ideas and inspiration, or just ways to show support even without making your own clips, check out the Dimension Bros’ PHB guest post on video-making tips and keep up with the Pop Month 2021 playlist here.

While this event isn’t sponsored by the PHB, we encourage all Poptropicans to have fun with it and celebrate Poptropica’s legacy. Happy birthday, Poptropica, and here’s to a poppin’ month! 🥂

Guest Posts, Mini Quests

Spilling the tea on Amelia’s mini quest ☕️🦄

Hey Poptropicans, this is a guest post by Giant Dragon, with screenshots from the PHB’s Slanted Fish. Enjoy!

Hel-lo Poptropicans! GD aka Giant Dragon here. A brand new mini-quest just dropped — let’s take a look!

First, we have to talk to Amelia on Home Island. She’s got a question mark on her head. When we talk to her, she says she hasn’t introduced herself properly, and invites us to tea at her house, which is on the floor above Adventure Outfitters. (Wow, two floors!)

Excuse all the Paw Patrol: The Movie ads you’re going to see along the way. Inside the store, to the right, you’ll see a secret doorway leading to the second floor. Go on, click enter. Then…

Ta-da, she has her own clubhouse! (And I have to admit, it’s cute.) But first, breaking news: Amelia owns Home Island! According to her, she bought the deed to Home Island with the money she got from her adventures. Oh wow!!

Have fun exploring her place — it’s lore galore, so let’s talk about some of it! Noteworthy parts include the magical lipstick from Fairytale Island, a cute kitchen, and photographs of flying with Xavier and defeating the Red Baron (the rivalry runs deep!). Does anything else seem a bit familiar to you here? Looks like she’s been to Escape from Pelican Rock Island and gotten her own dummy head made!

Now as for the mini-quest, Amelia will tell you she’s missing some cargo that got lost on Survival Island, just a short ride away from Home Island on the map. Apparently she’s afraid of a certain sky pirate

Make your way to Survival Island and head right to the second scene. There, you’ll find a box overstuffed with unicorn goodies on one of the snowcapped rock ledges. Take the Lost Cargo and return to Amelia’s!

Realizing you saw what was inside (I mean, girl, it is overflowing), Amelia will blush hard in an anime-like, sweat drop animation sequence never before seen in Poptropica. UwU or OwO? 😅😊😳

Anyway, she’ll give you 1,000 credits and a unicorn plushie décor for your clubhouse. Look, how cute!

And have a look at Amelia’s bedroom! Unicorns galore! You can tell her whether you think they’re cute or dorky, but either way, it’s now our little secret. For now… wonder what the Baron would think?

Remember the first sneak peek we saw of this mini-quest? We now get to see the final version! Too bad the identities of the others featured remains a mystery. Or is the one on the right the Baron?

Did you see the Crisis Caverns trophy from Poptropica Worlds? It seems your character doesn’t know what that “thing” is, so what do you think is the reason? The comments section is all yours…

That’s it from me today. Keep your eyes popped for my future posts. Bye!!!

Merchandise, Reviews

Pop Merch Review: Sticker Haul ✨

Hey Poptropicans, we’re back with more merch to review! In addition to the lovely Dr. Hare button, I also ordered some stickers from the official Poptropica Zazzle store. Check out the haul:

The stickers were custom made by Zazzle and arrived in a cardboard envelope.

As you can see, I got six stickers: the 8-bit Dr. Hare and Dr. Beev from Hoptropica, the iconic Poptropica blimp, the classic Time Tangled Island, the mid-stage Survival Island, and the fresh Fairytale Island. 🏝

The Zazzle store has plenty more stickers, though, including logos of fictional businesses, and beloved characters from Fairytale Island. 🐺

At a couple dollars apiece, and with Zazzle’s constant sales, the total of my six stickers came out to around US$12 (not counting international shipping, which was another ~$7 for me). If it’s your first time, you can get a free trial of Zazzle Black, which gives you free shipping in the US.

Anyway, on with the review! I’ll be going through these based on where I decided to stick these adhesive beauties. Let’s start with my laptop, where I placed Dr. Hare with Survival Island. 🐰🌩 (Hey, if this bunny can fling himself to space, he can hop anywhere and survive!)

Love the color combos here! Still, each sticker ran smaller than I’d anticipated: Dr. Hare was supposed to be 2″x2″, but was more like 1.25″x1.25″, while Survival Island was meant to be 3″x3″, but ended up 2.5″x1.75″. So if you’re planning to order a sticker, keep that in mind when you’re deciding what size to get! (Size options range from a tiny 2″x2″ to an extra-large 14″x14.”)

Next up we have the Dr. Beev sticker! 🦫 As with the above, Beev was supposed to be 2″x2″, but in reality was closer to 1.75″x1.25″. He was also the only one which I got printed on glossy transparent paper, so the white parts are negated and you can see through to the surface where he’s placed—in this case, my green iPad. Looking good!

Leave it to Beev.

Finally, we have the blimp and two more island stickers, Time Tangled and Fairytale. These are printed on regular matte white paper, so they come with a white outline. (You can choose the paper.)

Again, size runs small: the blimp was meant to be 2″x2″ but was really 1.5″x1.25″, while the islands were both supposedly 3″x3″ but varied, with Time Tangled being 2.5″x2″ and Fairytale being 2.5″x3″. Clearly the design shapes the size, with Fairytale looking large in its max height of 3″ while Time Tangled has a flatter design and ends up shorter.

Anyway, I plastered these pretty pieces onto my cardboard file boxes. Now I can go through my files like I’m traveling through the islands!

So that’s all six stickers! They’re all printed with pretty decent quality, are easy to use, and will look great wherever you want to stick them. 💫

Thanks to the Poptropica Creators for sponsoring this post! And thanks for sticking with me through this sticker haul review. Check out more merch reviews here on the PHB, and stay awesome!

Clubhouse Crawl, Fan Art Features, Social Media

Knock knock, Clubhouse Crawl 🏠🌙

Heyo, Poptropicans! Today on the docket we have one clubhouse crawl, two TikTok tapes, and three fan art features. Let’s pop that door open…

…and step right into this cozy crib from Golden Moon! This fuchsia furnished home is the first to be featured in a new series from the Pop Creators called “Clubhouse Crawl.” You can find all the sweet snaps on the official blog as well as a quick video on their Instagram!

The Clubhouse Crawl feels somewhat like the PHB’s Clubhouse Tours, but instead of Pop homeowners showing off their own spaces, the Pop Creators are randomly picking places to pop into and write about! According to the blog, no submissions are necessary to be featured—just work on decorating your dwelling and you never know when someone might pop in for a peek. For now, check out Golden Moon’s!

(Though if you do want to share your hangout in your own words, you can always send in a guest post for the PHB!)

Next up on the clock are two clips from Poptropica’s TikTok! First, for International Dog Day on August 26, we get a neon green pupper trying on various pet items to the classic jam “Who Let the Dogs Out”:

And the day before, the Creators popped in with this strange filtered face meme with a voice saying, “Yes I game, I know I don’t look like your typical gamer but look…” followed by a player sneaking her way around the Pelican Rock prison. (You can also catch the clip on Twitter!)

For more TikTok talents, check out “A walk through PoptropiTikTok“!

Finally, we have a few fan art features over on Poptropica’s Instagram stories! Enjoy some classic villains and a now-completed Popsona:

That’s a wrap for this post. Keep on poppin’, Poptropicans!
