…nothing is going to get better.” -Dr. Seuss, The Lorax
There’s a new ad game inย Thneedville Poptropica’s Main Streets, because The Lorax is coming to DVD and Blu-Ray this August 2012! Thanks to Fuzzy-B for the notification and prize pics, and Brandon C. for the video walkthrough:
The Once-ler and a Bar-ba-loot are riding down the river in a bed (even though this was the Lorax’s fault, he’s calling for help! haha), and you’ve got to save them. Run to stay ahead of the floating bed and reach the branch in time to save the Once-ler! Be sure to avoid obstacles on the way.
Prizes are Truffula Tree Hair and Marshmallow Rain.

Hey guys, BT here. Now you MIGHT be wondering…
“Why the heck did she include a song from a 1970’s movie in this post?”
Well, that 1970’s movie just turns out to be Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. In 2005, a remake directed by Tim Burton was seen by many. And maybe in 2012, Poptropica decided to revamp the story to make it an interactive experience?
Squirrely: We don’t imagine there’s a moose anywhere around here.Fruity: The juice is loose!Ramshackle: Life among the underclass.Oh, Fudge: Who is this great big greedy nincompoop?
There could be more Daily Pops relating to this, but those were the ones that stood out to me as Wonka-related. And the most obvious ones, at that. I wonder if this island’s quest would have to do with rescuing the 4 kids that ended up in tight situations (I’m talking about Augustus, Violet, Veruca, and Mike). Besides, I don’t remember the part in either movie where Augustus is seen on a conveyor belt covered in strawberry-flavored chocolate coated fudge, because it wasn’t in the movie.
I could be right. I could be wrong. It’s a prediction, and we’ll have to see. In the meantime, we wait for Lunar Colony’s release for members and demo for non-members. And the members get to have those special gold cards.
The Alien Archaeology card leaves a pretty tall pillar scripted with a peculiar alien language. And by alien, I mean outer space alien. The moon rocks card creates random moon rocks scattering across your screen. And the costume is-well-a costume.
The release of these island-specific gold cards give us the hint that Lunar Colony will be available soon, but not exactly when. We’ll find out soon, won’t we?
As many people know, Mad Libs is a popular word game for kids where you pick random words based on parts of speech, then fill it into the blanks of a story for hilarious, nonsensical results. And now, Barnes & Noble lists a book called Poptropica Mad Libsย by Roger Price available for pre-order.
There is also a pre-orderable book titled Poptropica Lime 1 by Elizabeth Corfe, and according to Amazon, “This title is part of Pearson’s Bug Club – the first whole-school reading programme that joins books and an online reading world to teach today’s children to read. In this book: Discover the online secrets of Poptropica. This title is suitable for ages 6-7 (Lime level).”
Do you think you’ll be buying these new titles if/when they’re released?
As you can probably guess, this is a post about some more of the creators’ favourite island. And as you can tell I desperately wanted someone to say Mystery Train. It is WAY my favourite island. Alas, it has not happened.ย Let’s just show you.
There’s a new big advertisement game in Poptropica, and it’s for none other than Poptropica creator Jeff Kinney’s upcoming Diary of a Wimpy Kid movie, Dog Days!
This YouTube walkthrough from InsidersNetworkย shows you all you need to do to win FOUR great prizes:ย Fruit Smoothie (Hand Item),ย Fregley’s Bandaid Costume,ย Soggy Cell Phone, andย Dog Bowl.
