Pop Petition: Let us levitate! ๐ŸŽˆ

Hey Poptropicans, this is a guest post by Dangerous Dragon. Enjoy!

Hey Poptropicans, DD here! Today Iโ€™m going over things that I want to see in Poptropica, and they all have to do with levitation.

Yes, the modern Jetpack from the store lets us fly around, and that’s pretty sweet. But in this post, I’ll be imagining some other ways of floating above that I think should be part of the new Poptropica. Let’s go!

#1: Levitating and Teleporting Boots

It would be awesome if we could get these boots and then fly in the sky! Unlike the Jetpack, though, these boots could teleport us places. We would disappear and then land somewhere near the place we started, or better yet, jump to a new scene altogether โ€” perhaps traveling across the islands?

#2: Bring Balloon Boy back

Remember Balloon Boy? He’s been seen floating around in the skies on many, many Poptropica islands. Is it finally time for him to land? Imagine seeing a TV broadcast on one of the new islands showing that Balloon Boy has returned to earth! What do you think he’ll say? I imagine the conversation going something like this: โ€œPhew! A long long journey! Iโ€™ve visited every island! Iโ€™m becoming older!โ€

Balloon Boy first appeared on Counterfeit Island in 2009 and was seen still floating in many future islands.

#3: Sky Balloon with a Mini-Game

Another item idea I’ve got floating around (heh) is a sky balloon! Not only do you get to hover with it, you can also activate a mini-game where you fly around, dodging birds and other things, like the Hang Glider game from the original Reality TV Island or Flappy Bird. Of course, you’d also encounter fun Poptropica sights, like Balloon Boy โ€” and eventually, when you reach space, it’ll be time for you to come back down.

Hang gliding on the original Reality TV Island.

#4: Throwing Cute Pillows

This next item idea would lift up not our character, but a handheld item. I’d love to carry around cute pillows on Poptropica like I’m hugging them. Then when we tap the space bar, we throw the pillow into the air! And when it comes back, we jump, land on a bed and fall asleep… with snoring Zโ€™s.

#5: Ding! Elevators

Remember riding elevators in places like the mall on Night Watch Island? That lift-off mechanic is pretty fun. I think one place Poptropica could install an elevator would be the inside of the store. After all, the store has so many items, it could use a second floor (and a third, and more…). Then, we would take a lift and go up up up!

The great glass elevator in the bonus quest of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory Island, which could go in all directions.

That’s all I’ve got for levitation, but I also wanted to throw in another quick Pop Petition to wrap up this post: Poptropica should bring back asking questions in the arcade! I was inspired by a comment White Fox (or as I say, White Foxy) recently posted on the PHB:

I miss the old way of talking. Back then, you could say, โ€œDo you like to read?โ€ or โ€œDo you like getting mail?โ€ or anything. Nowadays, you can start conversations with โ€œYour costume is awesome!โ€. While the compliments are fun and appreciated, I feel like conversations and friendships should be based off of something more than โ€œYouโ€™re great!โ€ โ€œThank you!โ€ โ€œYouโ€™re cool!โ€ โ€œYouโ€™re the nicest!โ€

Compliments just going back and forth tells you nothing of the person you are friending. I want to know my friendsโ€™ personalities better, and more questions that ask about that person would be great.

White Fox (from this PHB post’s comments)

Yes, questions do make it easier to get to know your friends on Poptropica. Bring them back, Poptropica!

Thanks, and this is DD popping out! Keep popping, Poptropicans!

My Place in Poptropica: Pink Lightning

This is the My Place in Poptropica story of Pink Lightning, who shares her love for Poptropica adventures through her story and poem. Enjoy!

Hi! My name is Pink Lightning. I am a big fan of Poptropica. Today, I am going to tell you how I started playing Poptropica.

One day, I was bored. It was summer vacation, and I was playing random baby-ish games with themes like โ€œPlease answer 1+1 in 10 seconds! Congrats! You got 10000 coins!โ€ and other games that seemed even more low leveled. I wanted a challenge!

Suddenly, I spotted a big-eyed pilot wearing red pilot clothes. I tapped the link to this new game, and repeated: โ€œPop-ro-pi-ca? Pop-trop-ica? Pop-tro-pica?โ€ What an interesting name.ย

From there, I had stepped into this fresh world of mystery, adventure and friendship. Soon I was making friends, exploring different islands, and decorating my club house. My first island was Mission Atlantis: Episode 1. I enjoyed the part when I dumped the bucket of ink on the key-stealer’s head. Ha!

Every single island is perfectly mysterious, fun, and interesting. Once you start, you can’t stop! To capture the magic, let me share with you my poem about Poptropica:

What is the best game in the whole world?
Poptropica! Poptropica!
Ladies and gentlemen, behold!
It is like the chocolate factory of Willy Wonka!

Where you make friends and go on adventures,
Where evil villains have pink bunny ears.
Where you make a lot of friends,
Where the stories will never end.

Where robot Modred controls the universe,
Where in dark castle lives a vampire with a curse.
Where the kind old lady is actually a ghost,
Where someone wanted to hunt you, and it was the host!

Want to have friends, and have a fun time?
Donโ€™t just sit there eating candy lime.
Open your computer and type Poptropica.
And then have a fun time playing, hahaha!

Thatโ€™s it, guys! If you want to be friends with me, my username is SNA333. And if you want to share your story, you can write for the PHB!

Clubhouse Tour: Sleepy Starfish ๐Ÿก

Hey Poptropicans, this is aย guest postย by Sleepy Starfish.ย Enjoy!

Hello! I am Sleepy Starfish and this is my first guest post. Welcome to my house! I am doing a Poptropica house tour. Letโ€™s get started!

On the first floor, to the right, place your shoes on the shoe rack when you enter my house. You can watch TV and there is a fridge. To the left, thatโ€™s the living room. You will find a sofa, a basket, and a candle.

Letโ€™s head to the second floor! On the right, thatโ€™s the pet toys room. The basket is for storing the the pet toys. My cat loves the yarn and my puppy loves the bone. On the left, thereโ€™s a plant and a table with a flamingo lamp.

On the third floor is my bedroom. There is a window over my bed. My room also has an “Eat, sleep, game, repeat” poster, a gaming computer with hooks for a drink and headphones, and there is a speaker. On the fourth floor, there is a bookshelf with books to read and some plants.

Well, thatโ€™s my house in Poptropica. If you want to see my house in game, add me as a friend on Poptropica. My username is 100349. Bye!

Pop 5: Popular Villains of Poptropica ๐Ÿฆนโ€โ™€๏ธ

Hey Poptropicans, this is a guest post by Smart Icicle. Enjoy!

Hi! Smart Icicle here, and I would like to share a Pop 5 list for the greatest villains of Poptropica. They’re based on all your votes in my poll a while back. Now to announce these fan favorites:

#5: Zeus

“Angry Zeus” by BrittScarlet

The lightning king of all Greek gods! Zeus is infamous in Poptropica, having (spoiler) tricked the player twice in both Super Villain Island and Mythology Island. Mythology fans can’t help but be intrigued by Zeus!

#4: Myron Van Buren

“Myron Van Buren” by Brave Tomato (1313cookie)

The main hunter (and stalker) of Survival Island, Myron Van Buren is well known for hunting down the player for sport โ€” as well as for his iconic cry of “Tally ho!”

#3: Binary Bard

“Binary Bard” by Gentle Dolphin

The cyborg Poptropican himself, and also a former alias among the Poptropica Creators, we have Binary Bard in third. Binary Bard, also known as Modred, reveals himself at the end of Astro Knights Island. People might favor him if they enjoyed the plot twist or his style โ€” if anyone knows how to look good as a cyborg, itโ€™s Binary Bard.

#2: Ringmaster Raven

“Ringmaster Raven” by ray-of-flight

The one who hypnotized the carnies of Monster Carnival Island out of a tragic past, Ringmaster Raven is a dedicated villain. Many fans are of the opinion that Ringmaster Raven was good because he helped the player and Edgar, and the monster he became was a result of how unjustly he was treated, while others may think thatโ€™s heโ€™s nuts and definitely evil (the comments of a recent PHB Pop Petition post sure had a lively debate on this!). After looking at his past as Bird Boy, Raven definitely deserves a soft spot in our hearts.

We are at our final stop. Now to introduce the greatest villain of all time!

#1: Dr. Hare

โ€œDr. Hare and Dr. Beev’s first date” by HfEvra

It’s the evil bunny himself, Dr. Hare! Since his first debut in the original 24 Carrot Island, Dr. Hare has been saying that he will one day rule the world. But despite all the iterations of 24 Carrot we’ve seen over the years, he’s never succeeded in his villainy.

Recently, Dr. Hare’s had a new friend: Dr. Beev! Like a dynamic duo, Dr. Beev has everyoneโ€™s attention while Dr. Hare is busy making plans. Both Beev and Hare have been celebrated by fans and in Poptropica events like Hoptropica. Congratulations, Dr. Hare, on the title of fan favorite villain โ€” and Dr. Beev for being a recent fan favorite sidekick of sorts.

What did you think about the results of my Favorite Poptropica Villains poll? Did it match your list? Share in the comments!

Thatโ€™s it from me, Smart Icicle out. ๏ธ๐Ÿ“šโ„๏ธ

Fairy Tale Island, Sneak Peeks

Upcoming Island Tale looking Fairy good ๐Ÿงšโ€โ™€๏ธ

Hey Poptropicans, check out these sneak peeks from the upcoming Fairy Tale Island shared this Friday on the Poptropica Creators’ Blog!

The main scene here is this majestic medieval castle atop some big stone steps and covered by thorny vines, with the king seen in an earlier sneak peek looking out from a balcony. The backdrop contains Twisted Thicket-like dark forest contrasted by a fluorescent pink sky with more castle towers just beyond. What beauties and beasts lie in wait? ๐Ÿฐ

The next couple of shots give us a closer look at what’s to the sides of the castle. To the left there’s Ye Olde Roastery Co โ€” a coffee shop? By the looks of the lurking dragon tail, perhaps we’ve got company…

To the left we have the roastery’s companion, Ye Olde Stables. An apathetic unicorn-cow and goat chill here. Wonder which fairy tale they belong to? And it seems you can make anything sound medieval by adding “ye olde,” hmm? ๐Ÿ˜œ

The Pop Creators previously promised that Fairy Tale Island, a winner in the recent Dream Island contest, would be out “before summer.” It seems they may in fact be on track to make this wish come true!

In other news, earlier this week, the Pop Creators shared a fan doodle from @brittscarlet1 on their Instagram story. There’s more where it came from, too: BrittScarlet regularly shares her Poptropica fan art on the PHC, our Discord server โ€” like this one of an angry Zeus! โšก๏ธ

That’s all for this post! Keep on popping on, Poptropicans. โœŒ๏ธ
