Poptropican’s 911: Issue #2

It’s time to kick off the month of July 2009 with another issue of the PHB’s Poptropican’s 911 newsletter! You’ll get to learn how to play any room on Astro-Knights Island in full-screen, read some cool tales about courageous Poptropicans, admire awesome artwork, and lots more! So, let’s go ahead and…

Enter the realm of Issue #2!

Also, the Poptropica Help Blog’s ”Poptropica Poll” has been updated! Our latest question reads, ”Reality TV Island is coming this summer! I’m most excited about:” followed by some cool answers, so take your time voting!

June 2009’s poll question was, ”How many credits do you own (on a single/main Poptropica account)?” Here are the results:

Option | Votes | Percentage
None, I spent them all. | 519 | 22%
25 – 75 | 443 | 19%
100 – 475 | 653 | 28%
500 – 575 | 118 | 5%
600 – 775 | 121 | 5%
800 – 975 | 187 | 8%
1000+ | 301 | 13%

You can now rate any of the PHB’s posts or pages with awesome blue stars! At the bottom of every post and page, you’ll find 5 stars with a ”Rate This” sign next to them. (Note: For posts, you have to click on it to actually see the rating section, because it doesn’t show on the homepage.) To rate our pages/posts, simply hover your cursor over the stars and select how many you’d like to rate us (out of a possible 5). One is the worst; five is the best; and you can see what each number of stars stand for when you hover over that amount. Here’s the list:

  • One star = Very Poor
  • Two stars = Poor
  • Three stars = Average
  • Four stars = Good
  • Five stars = Excellent

Once you’ve decided how well we’ve written a post or page, click on the stars to submit your rating. A ”Thank You” will appear for a brief moment, then it will show you the average rating of the post/page from everyone who has ever rated there. Next to it, it will show you how many people have rated the post/page. If you try to rate again, but with a different star level, it will be saved over your first one. If you try to rate again, but with the same star level, it will not add one more to the number of votes.

So, please send us your valued feedback! 🙂

That is one HOT ride, dude!

Today at the PCB we get a look into Binary Bard/Mordred’s transportation life! He sure does have taste in cars… and flame decals. Yet, it makes me wonder how much money he has to afford a giant robot that spews super-spiky wheels of doom, a robotic mouse and owl, and now a car?! Geez.

The binary, by the way, translates to Geo Metro (which I’m guessing is the model of the car =P)

Next, it seems like we have found yet another secret “Cool Stuff” item from the Poptropica Credit Store, much like the Party Room that was also discovered recently. This item seems to allow you to vanish/turn invisible! Cool!

That’s about it! Please check out the below posts detailing the results of our Dr. Hare Competition results and the new forum, the Poptropica Help Forum!

Also, sorry, I just have to make reference to the King of Pop[tropica], Michael Jackson, who died yesterday. =( This seems kind of awkward for a Poptropica blog, but this needs mention. Smockers out!

Keep on singing, Michael Jackson!

The PHB Competition Results!

Its been a while since Dr. Hare took over the site. Its been too long. But you can blame Codien for that 😛

The PHB was so close to been taken over after its header and the competition email were stolen. But we thank everyone that helped out and found them.

And for a reward we have randomly chosen 13 (Was 20 but you can ask Codien how he lost them!) Poptropicans who entered and have given them a specially rare PHB Monster User.

Even better, look what the Creators of Poptropica are planning:

Blog Post Title: New outfits and more – Coming Soon!
Description: We are busy creating tons of cool stuff for Poptropica, and here are two new outfits you’ll soon be able to purchase in the Poptropica Store!

Note that the post’s title says “new outfits and more“. What could the “more” be? Many of you who have been commenting on our Cheat Codes page may have an idea! A lot of you have helped in discovering that the Creators may be working on a party room. Take a look at this leaked item SWF:

http://static.poptropica.com/items/item3024.swf

The stars in the background suggest that it is an item you will be able to purchase at the Poptropica Store. The description says, “Create a party room and connect with your friends to chat or play games!” Underneath that is a button that says “Connect”. It seems that if you click Connect, you would be teleported to your own party room which you can create. You might even be able to choose which Poptropicans you want to play with, and there may or may not be a maximum amount of players for each room. From the description, it seems that party rooms will be very similar to multiplayer rooms.

The image on the item card is very much like a previous sneak peek thought to belong to Astro-Knights Island, but turned out that we were wrong about. Also, since this feature obviously sounds really awesome, it’ll probably cost a lot of Poptropica Credits. So if you’re thinking of getting one, better save up! 😛

A Quick Update

Hey guys just wanted to keep you up to date with everything.

First off due to the huge amounts of people wanting to play Astro-Knights island Poptropica is experiencing a high amounts of traffic. The creators are working on the problem and say it will be back online in less then 24 hours. While this is disappointing we’re happy because it gives us time to write the guide. 😛

Secondly the winners to the PHB 1 million Monster Competition will be announced later this week and their special monster outfits will be sent to them. Although i myself must say this quickly, unfortunately i accidental lost 7 of the monster outfits and will only be able to give out 13 of them. I am very sorry but i guess it makes the costumes more rare. There’s always a positive to a negative. 😛

If you haven’t seen yet we have released our first issue of Poptropican’s 911 post. It’s filled with loads of cool stuff so check it out. You can access it from the post below or from the top bar.
