Could it be?

Could it be another new island? No.

Could it be another new author? Yes.

And that new author is me. Yes, me, Angry Wing.

poptropican-2

Now for a little about myself.

I’m really excited to be a part of this awesome Poptropica blog. I’m twelve years old and I’ve been playing the game since Shark Tooth Island was released. Right now I’m running a blog of my own: Just Cuz It’s Friday. I post every Friday and my friends post throughout the week. You can find it at justcuzitsfriday.com.

Outside of the computer, I enjoy drawing, reading, hanging out with my friends. I play football, basketball, and I do track. And of course, I love blogging. I am a follower of God, a Christian. Happy Easter, by the way! My music interests include TobyMac and OneRepublic.

If you’re interested in friending me on Poptropica, my username is sleigh.

So I’m really excited to be a part of the team here. Feel free to ask questions below, and without further ado, I consider my first post finished!

A PHB Special: the Ongoing Story Creation

8mil ongoing story creation
In celebration of this Poptropica Help Blog recently reaching 8 million hits (thanks everyone!), we’re going to do something fun! In the comments section, ANYONE is welcome to join in as we weave an ongoing story, a Poptropica fan-fiction of sorts, told in second-person narrative. It begins here…

“Um, hello. I’m here to register for something called, uh, ‘Poptropica’?” Amidst the realm of blue vines in front of you, a crate, small and wooden, bounces out, shaking blue dust and spitting out a question of your gender. You stare incredulously before you finally manage to respond. “I’m a boy,” you tell the little box, and then it erupts a circle of numbers in individual bubbles as it asks you the next question. This is a very strange sign-up process, you think to yourself, as you decide to tell the box etched with a curious question mark that you are 9 years old.

“Your name is Jumpy Jumper. When you are ready, hop into the blimp and travel to any island.” You ponder the map for a while, but decide none of the islands suit you. “There’s got to be something better…” you mutter to yourself. Just then, you see it. Out of the corner of your eye, there’s another island, shrouded in mystery by layers of smog and unidentifiable smells. Island X.

“But no one’s ever been there before,” the voice warns, the voice of the box that had guided your creation earlier. “Jumpy Jumper, JJ, you can’t… how did that even get on the map anyway? It’s not safe… please no… JJ!!” But it’s too late. You’re gone.

What happens next? Will JJ survive the unknown dangers of the mysterious Island X? What is the island’s secret, its true name, the people, the villain(s), the setting? You and your fellow PHB readers get to decide what items he collects and uses, other places he visits, and the adventures that await…

RULES: Make sure it follows what others have written before you, makes sense, and if you wish to add a comment that is not part of the story itself, use parentheses, for example: (I think we should…) Your comment can be as long or short as you like and you are definitely welcome to contribute as many times as you like. Be creative!

Where will these words take us? Continue the story in the comments!

Introducing… Fuzzy-B!

Hey guys, I’m Fuzzy-B and I am the newest author here at the PHB! I would like to thank Slanted Fish so much for letting me join the blog. This is something that I have been dreaming of since I found out about the PHB back in 2009 from friends in my class. I hope to have a lot of fun here and post a lot of good updates. You may know me from the blog I run over here. Don’t worry, I will still post over there too.

A little about me is that I am a 14-year-old boy living in the central U.S.A. I love movies, running, and Jesus. I enjoy going to concerts, listening to music, and playing Poptropica (but that is obvious). “It’s been fun but now I’ve got to go, Life is way too short to take it slow, But before I go and hit the road I gotta know, till then, When can we do this again?”

Nothing better than an Owl City quote to end a post with, eh? ;)

Comics, Zomberry Island

Light is bad, bad stuff (Zomberry: Day Zero – Part Five of Six)

You’re warm and sleepy in bed, having dreams of chocolate and zomberries. The room is nice and dark and you float around in Poptropica, perhaps scaring tourists in Shark Tooth Island or laughing at all those humble Poptropicans dutifully packing up their bags to go camp out for Zomberry Island. Everything is just perfect. perfect, that is, until-

“Oh, no, momsie! You absolutely must turn off the light now!”

“It’s time for school, get up now.”

I’m positive this scenario has occurred to every Poptropican more than once. Don’t be ashamed to admit it. We’re all in this together.

Anyway, it appears that those epic zombies (or are they epic?) of Zomberry Island need to be stopped! And who better than Joe to stop them? Here we continue on with our epic story, Zomberry: Day Zero!

Well, Poptropicans, it seems that we all share one common trait with zombies; we all burn from light on certain days. What if… *epic gasp* the moral is that Poptropicans are the real zombies?

The whole idea of a zombie apocalypse is fresh in my mind due to the idea of zombie and berry being together in one sentence. Zomberry is such a nice word, isn’t it?

Remember to check back here, the PHB, for details. Everything you need to know for Zomberry Island will be brought to you here, by us! And while you’re at it, why not check out the island guides and complete any islands you’re missing? That way, you’re all ready to go when Zomberry Island comes out!

P.S. Did you guys notice how we got left with a cliffhanger until Monday?

Tribes, Web Development, Zomberry Island

Zomberrified Updates

That’s right. I just said ‘zomberrified’. u mad bro?

So, we’ve just learned that the totally awesome (and yet slightly ominous) island is called Zomberry Island. The Creators have interested us by releasing two awesome posters.

(See that? Released by Mews Corp, rated P for Poptropica? I do believe this is interesting.)

And not only do we get these posters, but we also get the fantastic new… common rooms! That’s right, remember the innuendos and outuendos floating around about the tribe common rooms? Well, they’re confirmed now!

You just need to go to your epic profile on Poptropica and ‘Join Room’! This’ll take you to your secret hideout where you’ll meet with other tribesmates. Pathfinders, hope to see you there!

Also, remember that these common rooms are special in more than one way; they’re interactive. Hunt around the vast rooms to see what you can interact with, besides your friends! 😀
