Climb Aboard for a Costume Crusade ๐Ÿงฅ๐Ÿ—บ๏ธ

Ahoy, Poptropicans! It’s time to embark on another journey and uncover some Poptropica news. We’ll admire some amazing artwork, say “Bonjour!” to the Baron, and chronicle some creative costumes. Let’s go!

Here are some fan art features from Pop’s recent Instagram stories. Plenty of fan art per usual, but also some promo for the Baron’s Crusade!

Two of the stories relate to the new Baron’s Crusade side quest. One is a poll asking users if they had played the quest, and the other is a Poptropica TikTok video that was posted on a Bones Day. We can safely say that this quest is Noodle-approved. ๐Ÿฆด

The Creators’ Blog also published a walkthrough for the Baron’s Crusade side quest. The written walkthrough and accompanying video show players how to complete the quest and uncover the hidden Easter eggs. You have one week left to set off on this once in a lifetime adventure and to snatch some Halloween goodies, including the six winning designs from September’s costume contest. Good luck, adventurers!

Speaking of costumes, I’m excited to share that I wrote a guest post for the Creators’ Blog! Since the PHB Halloween costume contest is still open, I wrote Gentle Dolphin’s Declassified Costume Creation Guide (Points if you get the reference๐Ÿ˜‰)! This guide gives tips for making custom in-game looks and showcases some examples as seen below. I hope these tips help you create your ideal costume whether it be for trick-or-treating, island perusing, or contest submitting.

You may also notice a new Contests page on the Poptropica website menu. So far, this page only features the original announcement of monthly costume contests from June 2021. Maybe this is where the Creators will post updates about upcoming contests? There hasn’t been any word regarding a new costume contest in October, so I think we might get an announcement in early November. We’ll wait and see!

That’s all for now! Did you play the Baron’s Crusade side quest yet? What did you think of it, and did you discover every secret? Have you entered the PHB’s Halloween costume contest yet, or are you planning to enter this coming week? Let us know in the comments below!

Thank you for reading, and have a good day!

Popping with Perils and Personality ๐Ÿ˜ฑ๐Ÿ˜Ž

What’s popping, Poptropicans? Pop a little closer for a little dive into spooky TikToks, Popsona stories, and character personalities!

First up, we’ve got TikToks for the spooky season. Last week, Poptropica threw it back with a clip from an old classic: Virus Hunter Island, released in 2013. The warning of how disease spreads really hits different in our pandemic age! The clip was also released as a YouTube short.

This was followed up a few days ago with a part two in “Spookiest Moments in Poptropica”: that moment when all the carnies turned into monsters on Monster Carnival Island. Itโ€™s also a YouTube short.

Adding to the Halloween feels, they also dropped a vid exploring the current blood red Home Island, colored by the Baron’s month-long visit.

(Speaking of Halloween, our costume contest here on the PHB runs all throughout this month of “Red October.” Enter if you dare, and you might even win a membership!)

Over on Instagram, the Pop Creators highlighted tons of spooky fan art on their stories, including several Popsona personalities. Enjoy!

The buzz about Poptropican psyche continues in a new post on the Pop Creators’ Blog from guest writer Golden Wolf, who takes a crack at explaining and predicting the MBTI personalities of various Fairytale Island characters โ€” specifically Rumpelstiltskin as ENFP, Cinder as ENTP, Red as ISTP, and the prince as INFP. (Learn more about MBTI personalities and take the quiz to find out yours here!)

In addition to the headcanons, Wolf also shared a couple of “creepy” anime-inspired Poptropica looks, with a Pop-style drawing of one character and a Pop costume of another. We’re feeling the spooky vibes!

That wraps up this poppin’ post of personalities. How did you enjoy all the TikToks and IG stories? Have you partaken in our Halloween contest yet?

What MBTI or other personality labels would you use to describe Poptropica’s characters, or your own Popsona and self? Tell us what’s popping with you, and don’t forget to be awesome!

Old island makes a splash: Mission Atlantis on Haxe’s horizon ๐ŸŽฅ๐ŸŒŠ๐Ÿก

Hey Poptropicans, a classic island is making a comeback!

Poptropica recently dropped a new YouTube video offering a quick glimpse at something to come. It’s got bubbles and submarine pods โ€” can you guess what it is? (Oops, the title of this post gave it away.)

If you’ve been around a while, you’ll probably recognize the beginnings of Mission Atlantis Island in this clip. Oddly, the original trailer video has disappeared, but you can watch the full clip in this old video from Thinknoodles, which also has Daily Pop sneak peeks:

Mission Atlantis originally released in 2014 and had three episodes, all of which disappeared in the transition to Haxe in 2020. (You can still play it on the Poptropica app, though.) In this island, players discover something amazing at the bottom of the sea… if only you can get inside and figure out how it works.

While Mission Atlantis may not have been as popular as other past islands, it’s nevertheless exciting to see that we’re getting closer to another classic returning to the Poptropica map! ๐Ÿ

Although the Haxe map currently contains only the first episode for other episodic adventures like Survival and Arabian Nights, we’re hoping that the rest of the story eventually comes along, too. And while we wait, join us in jamming to “Backspace,” our anthem for the old islands!

Also on the Creators’ Blog is another video from guest writer Invisible Ring, who picks up from her last post where she spotlighted Perfect Sky, a Poptropica fan movie creator on YouTube who is no longer active. This time, Ring shares how Poptropicans have been hoping for someone to continue Sky’s legacy, and how she could be that person.

So, inspired by Perfect Sky, Invisible Ring announces that she’s working on a “full-length movie,” and drops a trailer for her upcoming creation. “Poptropica: Battle Morale” tells the story of one little girl standing up to the winds of change in the Poptropica universe. Where others are pessimistic on Pop’s future, she’s optimistic, refusing to let naysayers have the final word. Watch it here:

The world of Poptropica could certainly use more hope, and “Poptropica: Battle Morale” might just be able to offer that light to the fandom. Best of luck on the movie, Ring!

Across the fandom, other stories are being told in still yet spectacular pictures. Just take a look at the latest fan art of haunting characters and places on Poptropica’s Instagram stories!

That’s a wrap for this update. Are you hyped for the return of Mission Atlantis? What about the upcoming fan-made movie? Have you started putting together your outfit for our Halloween costume contest? (It was retweeted by the Pop Creators!) Let us know what’s popping with you!

Vertical Stripes and Stories Free for All Guests and Pets ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ‘•

Hello, everyone! The Creators gave us a lot of updates over the past few days. Weโ€™re seeing fashion fur-ward outfits, hip-hoppin’ story features, and blogging opportunities for all ages. Let’s check them out!

Amelia just stocked Adventure Outfitters with some new items for both players and pets! The latest rotation gives us Poptropicans the 90’s Vertical outfit, a retro style perfect for going back to school or hanging out at the mall. Everyone can rock this colorful look for a price of 200 credits.

While we Poptropicans have one new outfit this week, our four-legged friends can rock five new pet costumes! All players can dress their pets with the Zebra BucketMighty Hero, and Princess Dress. On the other paw, members can buy the Leopard Growl and Princess Hat. Whether member or not, all of these items cost 75 credits. Anything for our cute little critters! ๐Ÿ˜บ๐Ÿถโค๏ธ

Now enough about clothes, let’s talk about the latest Poptropica Fan Art Features! Instagram user pinklightningmc made a ๐Ÿ”ฅfire๐Ÿ”ฅ OC edit and redrew a Mighty Action Force comic page. Another user named pompadourcoco drew a funny comic about Mademoiselle Moreau’s arrest, and (shameless plug alert!) I shared my Pumpkin Punk entry for the Red October costume contest. Speaking of punk, don’t forget to submit your punk-related entries to this month’s PHB Community Creations!

At the end of the story, the Creators added a small Hoptropica-themed poll asking fans to vote for their favorite doctor. Looking at the results, it seems that Mocktropica meme Dr. Beev can’t outclass the classic Dr. Hare. Speaking of Hoptropica, you can still play the birthday edition of this 8-bit platformer until September 30! Hop to the top of the high score list and wish a hoppy 14th birthday to Poptropica! ๐Ÿฅณ๐Ÿ‡๐Ÿฆซ

Are you a Poptropica fan who wants to share that love with fellow fans, but writing for the PHB isn’t glamorous enough for you? You’re in luck because the Creators’ Blog put out a new call for guest writers! Fans who are 13 years or older can head to Pop’s submissions page and answer what they want to write about and why they would make a great contribution to the Creators’ Blog. They also need to include their own or their parent’s email address so the Creators can contact them.

One exciting development is that fans 12 and under can now submit guest posts, although the submission process is different for them. Younger writers can only submit their finalized guest posts through the submissions page, and they can’t include any identifying information or email addresses in their message to the Creators. Due to this, they won’t have direct contact with the Creators.

Speaking of guest writing, you can still submit a guest post to us here at the Poptropica Help Blog. While it’s not as fancy as getting featured on the Creators’ Blog, you can also reach tons of fellow Poptropicans! Check out our Write for the PHB page for more details!

What do you think of the new outfits? Who’s your Hoptropica main: Dr. Hare or Dr. Beev? Do you plan on writing a guest post for the Creators’ Blog?

Thank you for reading, and have a good day!

Riding high on a Perfect Sky ๐ŸŒค

Hey Poptropicans! The forecast for this post seems to be showing a perfect skyโ€”oh, but wait, it’s looking spooky later onโ€”and with a side of something sticky? Hmm… let’s just pop in and see what’s up!

Some Poptropicans may know Perfect Sky โ€” a Poptropica fan movie creator on YouTube who later became a PHB staff writer. She’s no longer active in the fandom, but her legacy recently resurfaced on the Pop Creators’ Blog in a guest post from Invisible Ring.

As Ring mentions, Perfect Sky made all sorts of Poptropica TV shows and movies, while the Pop Creators themselves could only dream of it (thanks for the shout-out to the PHB’s interviews with the CEO and the PHC!). You can read more from Ring here and browse Perfect Sky’s YouTube channel here. And just for a taste, here’s a trailer for one of her movies released in 2016, “The Archives of Cypress Cove Press.” ๐ŸŽฅโœจ

All this Poptropica video conviviality is just perfect timing with the backdrop of Poptropica Month, the month-long fan-run event of creating videos inspired by the game. We’re a little under halfway through September and the Pop Month 2021 playlist already has tons of videos to enjoy. Take some time this weekend to check ’em out and maybe even make your own. The sky’s the limit!

While we’re looking up at the skies, don’t forget the Red Baron is looking around for entries to her Red October Halloween costume design contest! To get your spooky senses flowing, the Creators’ Blog featured several enchanting entries they’ve received so far:

Remember, the deadline for this month’s contest is the coming Tuesday, Sept 14 at 8 pm PST, and there will be not one, but SIX winners who’ll get their costumes in the game! Be sure to read all the details on the official blog and submit your creation(s) through Pop’s submissions portal. Poptropicans, dare to dream! ๐Ÿ’ญโœ๏ธ

There’s more art to be inspired by over on Instagram! Poptropica’s latest stories include chaotic villain doodles, an infographic from a podcast about Hong Kong life (shoutout to my hometown!), and even a new TikTok about computer lab days (with a nostalgic Black Eyed Peas beat).

Speaking of TikTok, looks like Pop’s going viral โ€” their latest video thanks viewers for 1,500+ followers, and at the time of this writing, they’re already up to 2,800+ followers. That’s a pretty huge leap from just two days ago when they were still at 700+ followers, and perhaps the big boost is owed to their recent TikTok about changing hair on 24 Carrot Island paired with a “good soup” line from Marvel. That video, which is currently their most played, was at 200K+ plays a couple days ago, and now the clip is at almost 500K. Well played, Poptropica! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

Wrapping up this post is a quick mention for another guest post on the Creators’ Blog from yours truly โ€” a Poptropica sticker haul! (You might’ve seen it here on the PHB, too.) Wherever you prefer to read this little merch review, I hope the Poptropica joy sticks with you. โœจ๐Ÿ’™

Thanks for popping by, and stay awesome, Poptropicans! โœŒ๏ธ
