Dreamy Clubhouse Tour: Invisible Ring 🦄

Howdy Poptropicans, this is a guest post by Invisible Ring. Enjoy!

Hey, it’s me, Invisible Ring! Remember me from my first, second, and third clubhouse tours? Well, get ready for the grand finale, because my final clubhouse tour is ready!

Wow, look at this place! I’ve never seen so many flowers and — *GASP* Oh my gosh, UNICORNS! This is a dream come true! Is this a dream room?

Me: What else is in here? Ooooh, what a forest! It’s even better than the one in my room!

Tourist: I know, right?

Me: Huh? Oh hi! I didn’t know there was someone else here.

Tourist: Yeah, these woods remind me so much of Twisted Thicket.

Me: You wanna explore these woods with me?

Tourist: Whoa, dude, I don’t think going any further is a good idea. Dangerous things always go on in forests just like this one.

Me: I’m not afraid. I mean, this is all part of my clubhouse!

Tourist: Oh, ok. So that means you already know what goes on in here, huh?

Me: Well, I uh….

Tourist: Oops, gotta go! Great talkin’ to ya!

Oooh boy, I suddenly have a bad feeling about this. Maybe that guy was right. Maybe rushing in there is a bad idea, but what should I do? I’d better slow down and set up camp around here somewhere and figure this out.

Ok, so I knew what I was doing in the rest of the rooms in my clubhouse, but I don’t know what I am doing in this last room. That’s a scary thought, but then again, figuring out what you don’t know along the way is half the fun of exploring. Ok, It’s decided. Back to the forest!

Me: Oh my gosh! Who are you? And where did these flowers come from? It’s as though the whole forest instantly bloomed! Did you do this?

Fairy: Indeed. Welcome home, Invisible Ring. Much has happened since your last arrival here.

Me: Yeah, It’s been a busy year, y’know?

Fairy: Yes. You have come a long way. Please continue. I will be here if you need my help.

Gnome: Hey, you! FREEZE!

Me: Everybody clap your hands!

Gnome: Don’t try to smooth-talk your way outta this, trespasser! You’re comin’ with me!

Me: Trespasser? I know I haven’t been in here for a long time, but this is my clubhouse! But since you seem to know your way around this place, I’ll come with you.

Gnome: That’s more like it. Don’t try anything funny now, ya hear me?

Gnome: Your majesty, I found an intruder in the woods. What should I do with her?

Gnome King: Mango, put that squirt gun down. That’s Invisible Ring! She owns the place!

Me: Your name is Mango? Haha! *ahem* I mean… Told ya.

Me: It’s nice to meet all of you, but I have some questions here.

Gnomes: And we got answers! What’s up?

Me: Has anyone noticed this place keeps changing? First, the unicorns ran and hid somewhere, then the trees themselves moved around! What’s going on?

Gnomes: This room is your creation, right? And don’t people describe their favorite art as “moving”?

Me: Ohhh, I get it! That makes a TON of sense, thanks a lot! Now I know exactly how this place works.

Ooh, this is just beautiful. Look at all of the stars in the sky tonight! I have such a good view of ‘em from here. This room really is a gem!

And speaking of gems, this tree is covered with ‘em! It’s so colorful, no wonder these butterflies like this spot so much!

Me: What’s up here? Oh, It’s a giant! Um… hello. I come in peace

Giant: So you’re the Invisible Ring that the gnome guards were talking about, huh?

Me: Uh, yes sir! …Oh look! The unicorns! So that’s where they went!

Giant: They’re with me, kid. We guard the place. If you run into any trouble, call us. Got it?

Me: Gotcha! Oh by the way, what’s that stuff the gnome is drinking?

Giant: It’s an enchanted elixir. You should give it a try. There’s an extra bottle over on the right.

That’s a lot of treasure! And that dragon is one heavy sleeper. There it is — The elixir bottle! I should find a good place to try it.

I think this is my favorite clubhouse room! Why don’t I come here more often? I must remember to come here every time I need a creative inspiration! Ok, this looks like a good place for a drink break.

What the? Where did this helicopter come from?!

Lumberjerks: Well, what do you know! I didn’t think we would run into a second magical forest. Hey, wait! We know you! You’re the brat who stopped us last time over at that twisted thicket! But it doesn’t matter now, because you’re not wearing a magical necklace this time. You’re in big trouble now!

Me: What are you doing?! Why are you here? You’re scaring away all the inhabitants! Guards, get down here quick! It’s an emergency!

Giant: Leave here at once or I’m gonna smash your chopper and take you to jail.

Lumberjerks: Not if our chopper smashes you first, you overgrown gorilla!

*WHACK!*

Me: NO, What have you done?!

Lumberjerks: Oh don’t worry. They’re not dead. But now they won’t be able to get in the way when we rip this forest down to the roots!

Me: You’re gonna destroy this place?! But why? You’ve got no right!

Lumberjerks: Look, kid. This is how we, as people, make a living. Getting rid of this rubbish is all just part of natural selection. Now, there are two ways out of here, kid. The easy way and the hard way. And you do NOT want to leave the hard way!

Me: So this is what the tourist meant. This is the kind of danger that happens in a forest like this.

Lumberjerks: This is your last chance. Either you go away or we have no choice but to MAKE you go away!

Me: NO! Nobody threatens me like that! This is MY clubhouse! This is MY work of art! And if you think I’ll let you take it all away, you’re DEAD WRONG!

Lumberjerks: HAHAHA, What are YOU gonna do about it, little girl?

Me: Blast it! I don’t know. Oh wait, my magic juice! Now’s the perfect time to drink it and see what it can do! Behold — the power of this enchanted forest!

Lumberjerks: WHAT THE WHAT?! YOU JUST LIT ON FIRE!

Me: I did?… I mean, that’s right, I did! And if you think that’s surprising, behold the most powerful magic of all in this forest — my imagination!

Lumberjerks: Holy fricassee! Who’s moving all those stars?!

Me: I am! Now begone you intruders! Run away and never return!

Lumberjerks: AAAHHHH! RUUUUN!

Me: Hey, you all came back and you’re all ok!

Giant: Way to show those jerks who’s boss! You made us all proud, young warrior.

Me: Warrior?…Oh yeah, my sword! I remember now that I had it concealed in my ninja suit for emergencies!

Gnomes: Forget the sword, lady! Did you even notice that you transformed into some sort of flaming angel? That was incredible! And you saved the forest, for Pete’s sake!

Me: Yeah, the seraphim has always been my favorite tribe, and I couldn’t have saved the forest without you guys. I’m sorry I hadn’t visited for so long.

Gnomes: You don’t have to be sorry. You wouldn’t be much of an adventurer if you just stayed put inside your house all day, would you?

Me: Hehe,I guess not. Oh my gosh, why do I feel so tired all of a sudden?

Fairies: Nothing surprising there. An imagination as powerful as yours takes a lot of strength to use. You should go and get some rest.

Me: Well, ok. I guess I’ll be going now.

Fairies: Keep on adventuring! We’ll be here whenever you’re ready to visit!

Me: Alright. Bye, everybody!

Home, sweet home. That tour was a big job, but it’s done now.

Hey, did my garden grow while I was gone? Cool! Now I know what I’m gonna explore tomorrow!

Looks like my laptop is still on. What’s it say?… Aw, sweet! I can see all four parts of my clubhouse tour on the PHB now! So glad I took up the offer, and it felt great to finish the job.

That’s all, folks! Thank you so much for joining me on my whole tour, and I hope it was an adventure for you as much as it was for me. I’ve got no plans to post anything else now, but if you really want more from me on the PHB, just let me know in the comments section. Until then, I’m taking a breather. I sure won’t have any trouble falling asleep tonight!

Clubhouse Tour: Golden Crown

Howdy Poptropicans, this is a guest post by Golden Crown. Enjoy!

Hey, Poptropicans! Golden Crown here, showing off my clubhouse in my first ever guest post on the PHB! I’ve been playing Poptropica for a while now, but since I’ve started following the PHB and joined the PHC, I decided that I would completely redo my clubhouse. I hope you enjoy it!

When you first enter, you can see my wonderful unicorn banner hanging above the doorway. I got it from Pegasaia, a land full of strange mythical creatures and whatnot.

Now, to the left is the room I’m most proud of — the artifacts room! I have an ice dragon statue, the lunar dreamcatcher, a lantern I use when I’m in dark places, and, my personal favorite, a crystal skull! This artifact is my absolute favorite because it represents my tribe (the Pathfinders). You can find it in the Pathfinders common room!

Ok, here’s my living room, where I unwind and stuff! I mean, mostly I eat snacks and play on my phone, but ya know. Anyway, to the left of the couch is my favorite table with a “priceless” gold pineapple (I got it from a garage sale). I also have some plants growing in here, and it really makes the room feel more homey.

Here is my music room! I mostly have dance parties in here and I also just like to hear myself sing, so yeah! There’s also two of my favorite types of tree here — palm trees! From here, you can see a sign that says “Keepeth Out.” You see it, right? Well, I mean it! Don’t go snooping in my bedroom! Okay fine, I’ll let you see it, but only for a little bit. That is my private place!

Well, not much to see here. Just a bed, a vanity set, and a little hanging decoration. Please don’t tell anyone that I still play with toy plushies! I’ll be ruined! You promise not to tell? Ok, next room.

Here is my favorite room — my study! I read, write, and of course, study here! I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but I am a big fan of books, adventure, problem solving, music, and so much more! But I don’t think I have the time to name everything I like. Next room!

Here’s the last room! This is my pets’ room. 🐱🐶 I have a dog named Axel and a cat named Violet. I’m more of a cat person than a dog person (don’t tell Axel), but I love them equally. They each have their own house and something to fidget and have fun with. I spoil them, I know, but I need something to keep them out of my fur… er, hair… while I’m working. Axel, come back! Don’t hide in that dog house! What about you, Violet? I know that you’ll stay. Who’s a good girl?

Well, I hope you enjoyed this Clubhouse Tour! While I’m not a member, I fully intend to keep moving forward with my Poptropica journey! Tell me what you think of my house in the comments, and have a great day, Poptropicans!

Guest Posts, My Place in Poptropica

My Place in Poptropica: Paris

This is a guest post from Paris sharing his My Place in Poptropica story, which is all about one’s Poptropica journey. Enjoy!

2010 | The world of online games

In 2010, my siblings and I were obsessed with online games — Animal Jam, Webkinz, and even that one McDonald’s MMO, if anyone remembers. Around 2010, my sister introduced us to Poptropica, and everything changed. From the years of 2010 to 2013, I was obsessed with Poptropica.

2013-ish | A PHB obsession

Near the year 2013 (or was it 2014?) I discovered the Poptropica Help Blog. I don’t exactly remember when or how (perhaps I was searching for island guides?), but when I discovered the PHB, I became even more obsessed with Poptropica. I idolized the PHB authors at the time; this included Slanted Fish, HPuterpop, etc. This obsession of mine continued throughout 2015.

The PHB team in 2014, drawn by Pop creator Ashley Lange

Then in 2016, there was hardly any Poptropica content, and I fell out with the game. This all changed a couple years later…

2018 | What happened to Poptropica?!

In 2018, I decided to check back on the current situation of Poptropica, only to find it a mess. Flash was shutting down in a little over two years and the creators were spending time on Poptropica Worlds: a laggy, slow, and unfinished mess. The old islands seemed like they were doomed to die, so that summer, I decided to play through all of the old islands I hadn’t completed yet.

Scene from Crisis Caverns on Poptropica Worlds

Also during that summer, I decided to join the PHB’s Discord server, the Poptropica Help Chat (PHC). It was not really active at the time, but it did introduce me to the larger Poptropica community. I participated in the Poppies, gave the PHB a tip-off about the ad-based Lego Island, and all sorts of things. But 2019 brought even more things to the table.

2019 | Finding community

I became even more active in the community and joined another Discord server in the fandom, the Poptropica Club. This was in its early days before I became a part of its staff. Due to the massive growth and activity of the Pop Club, I grew disinterested in the PHC, but still read the PHB religiously.

In 2019, we were introduced to Reality TV: Wild Safari, and later a new tutorial called Snagglemast. These underwhelming islands left me disappointed and even more pessimistic about the future of Poptropica.

Also, that summer, the old islands were taken off of the map. This proved to be devastating to most players, but quite fortuitous for the Pop Club, as it became a key place where players could conveniently access links to the old store inventory, the old islands, and the old friends page, and get tech support from idk, who made these links available. (These methods have long since expired, by the way.)

The summer of 2019 proved to be one of the most disappointing for Poptropica, but the most wonderful for me, as I was able to engage in this community. But when September 2019 rolled around, I had to take a break from Poptropica and the community for school.

2020 | Antagonism

When everything shut down for the pandemic, I was able to make my return to the Poptropica community. This time around, I had more of an antagonistic attitude towards the PHB. Certain community members got on my nerves, motivating me to troll the PHC during the 2020 Poppies and Tribal Tournament events. This eventually led to me being banned from that space.

I didn’t let that discourage me, though. The rest of 2020 held some good times in the fandom. One of the highlights for me was the Pop Club’s New Year’s party, in which idk created a custom snowglobe common room for us all to hang out in and watch a countdown to 2021. And with 2021, some things changed.

2021 | Letting go of grievances

After some drama on the Pop Club, I was promoted to an admin position. Later in April of 2021, I returned to the PHC during the open house party.

I’m willing to put aside my minor grievances with the PHB, because I can’t spend all of my time hating this blog; it’s exhausting. I’d rather spend my time participating with it and making friends, rather than enemies.

Clubhouse Tour: Pink Lightning 🏡

Hey Poptropicans, this is a guest post by Pink LightningEnjoy!

Hi! Pink Lightning here! I was busy going to school so it’s been a while since I wrote a post. (Last time, I wrote one on My Place in Poptropica!) Anyway, today I am introducing my clubhouse to you.

We’re starting from the pet corner! (Or the storage room, as I like to call it. But my dog DJ sleeps there, so…) It’s got a basket for clothes—actually, for old clothes that DJ will scratch and torture—and DJ’s bed. Because it is closest to the door, I chose to introduce it first.

And then… this is the unicorn corner. Where I enjoy watching cute unicorns and beautiful plants. I will imagine myself as a unicorn sometimes, too.

And then… this room is called the “I-wanna-punch-someone-in-the-face-so-leave-me-alone” room. This is nearly empty because when I am angry, I LOVE to smash things. But I have no idea why the chair and the plant survived. Probably because I want to leave something to smash next time.

And then… my study! My favourite place! It is where I read books and have some rest. I love reading! Do any of you love reading? Answer in the comments!

And then… the living room! It is where I have some golden pineapples and watch some TV. I like to watch the Poptropica channel. It is cool. Have you subscribed to the Poptropica YouTube channel? You should!

At last… my bedroom!!! Where I sleep between trees. The basket is for my unicorn follower to sleep in. I chose this spot for my bedroom because of the wallpaper. This room has the UNICORN.

Hope you enjoyed my post! See you everyone!

P.S. Does anyone else think that the Pop creators are being pretty generous lately? A lot of things that I thought should be members only are not. (Thanks, Pop creators!) What do you think? Share in the comments below!

Pop Petition: Tone down the ads

Hey Poptropicans, this is a guest post by White FoxEnjoy!

Hi, guys! Today I want to talk about the ads in Poptropica.

Now, don’t get me wrong, I totally understand that Poptropica isn’t making as much money as it used to, and advertisements bring in tons of cash, but things have been getting out of hand.

Remember Survival Island? The creators didn’t put a lot of ads there, because they wanted you to feel like you are stranded, and you don’t usually find advertisements for Rolex watches in the middle of the woods. Not having ads helped set the mood of the place.

Now, I find ads everywhere, and I don’t feel that stranded-in-the-forest vibe at all. Then there’s the matter of all the ads in your inventory.

I didn’t even watch the ad videos for these items! I just logged on one day, and I got a ton of stuff that I didn’t want. And it really fills up your inventory space! I wish Poptropica didn’t give you ad items without a choice, because it makes you scroll through a bunch of stuff just to get something you need for an island, and sometimes, you might not even like the stuff you get.

Even for people who do like the advertisement prizes, not keeping it separate from the items you need on an island is maddening. I can’t speak for everyone, but I really wish the creators would give you a choice, instead of stuffing random ad prizes into your inventory, where it takes up space and pushes your important items to the back.

Mega Fighting Bots took over on Mocktropica Island

As Slanted Fish noted in the 2019 PHB post “Is Poptropica turning into Mocktropica Island?,” the game has been falling into the traps of user-unfriendliness the island warned about in its cautionary tale. In Mocktropica, ads for Mega Fighting Bots popped up everywhere, and recently, when I was playing through 24 Carrot Island, Dr. Hare’s face was covered by an ad.

It’s upsetting that such an important part of the story — one of the most famous villains in Poptropica — was hidden because an advertisement for clothing had popped up. This could really make it hard to win islands, because I couldn’t see what he was saying. Even though I’d played the island before and knew what to do, it was still annoying.

At one point, Poptropica was wrapped in banner ads on all sides—promoting Poptropica!

Anyway, that just about wraps up this post! I hope the creators were reading this, because all this advertising stuff is really getting overwhelming. Thanks for reading!

Peace,
White Fox
