Mood boards bring a POP of color ๐Ÿ’ซ

Hey Poptropicans! A new creative trend has swept the Poptropica community, and we’re here to share some of it with you. Unveiling: Poptropica character mood boards! ๐Ÿคฉ

Mood boards are a collection of images and color schemes that relate to a particular subject (in this case, Poptropica characters). They’re common in the world of design, and the Poptropica fandom’s been getting in on them too. Check out these collages inspired by NPCs (non-player characters), from people of the PHC:

In addition to NPCs, OCs (original characters, perhaps your own player Poptropican) are also a popular subject. Check out these OC mood boards from various Poptropicans, where the pic pile might inspire your character’s next wardrobe and vice versa!

Like a visual version of the Popsona, or Poptropica persona, where one creates a story for their Pop character, these collections sure have a lot of personality! Now, what story does your character tell?

Thanks to all the above artists for sharing their mood boards with us! You can find them on our Discord server, the PHC, particularly on our #pop-art channel. Plus, feel free to share your own creations there too, and/or in the comments of this post. We hope you enjoyed this aesthetic feast and maybe feel inspired to make your own too. ๐Ÿ’ซ

Keep on popping, Poptropicans! โœจ

Pop-TROPE-ica: Top 10 Poptropica Betrayals

Hey Poptropicans, this is a guest post by White Fox. Enjoy!

Hey, Poptropicans! Today I’m going to talk about the Poptropica trope of us meeting cool characters who eventually betray us.

Off the top of my head, the first person who comes to mind when I think of Poptropica betrayers is the one and only Director D from Spy IslandHe played the part of seeming extremely trustworthy, because he could persuade everyone at the Spy HQ to do his bidding, and they thought they were doing it for the good of Poptropica. That’s why I was so surprised when I saw this:

So now you see why I have trust issues…

Now I have come up with 10 islands where someone you trust ends up being the bad guy. Okay, I’m gonna take a deep breath and list them all…

1. Mordred on Astro-Knights Island, after he became the Binary Bard and tried to take the princess.

The Life of Mordred: A Cautionary Tale

2. Director D on Spy Island, who secretly works for the B.A.D (Bald and Dangerous).

3. Zeus on Mythology Island, who steals your items after you worked so hard to gather them, and tries to take over Poptropica.

4. Dr Jupiter on Super Villain Island, who is Zeus in disguise and tries to take over Poptropica โ€” again!

5. The captain of the ship on SOS Island, who isn’t really a bad guy, but he kinda betrayed you because he caused the whole shipwreck in the first place but said he didn’t.

6. Ringmaster Raven on Monster Carnival Island, who tried to hypnotize the whole town. Well, the betrayal lies more in the fact that it turns out the carnies weren’t just regular people when night fell, thanks to Raven’s meddling monster-making!

7. Mr Silva on Shrink Ray Island, the teacher who tries to steal CJ’s invention.

8. Inspector Veuvre-noire on Counterfeit Island, or Black Widow, who attempts to steal “The Scream” painting.

9. Myron van Buren in Survival Island: Episode 4, who takes you in but has bad intentions in mind โ€” keeping you hostage in his log cabin and hunting you for sport!

10. The governor’s aide on Skullduggery Island, who, it turns out, secretly works for Captain Crawfish.

That’s all I thought up, but I might have missed some. Please put any others in the comments!

Because Poptropicans have been tricked and backstabbed countless times, it is often a surprise when you come across someone who actually holds up their end of the deal.

For example, the weight guesser on Monster Carnival Island. He actually gave you the bouncy ball. Since when do carnies just give away the prize? I guess they aren’t all cheap, lazy, and cheating, but all I got was a cup when I won the dart throwing contest!

Yay. My point is, Poptropicans are so often tricked on islands, it’s kind of hard to believe when people actually do what they say they will. A lot of people are suspicious in Poptropica. Next time you play a new island, don’t let anyone double-cross you… ๐Ÿ•ถ

That’s all for this post! Thanks for reading!

Peace,
White Fox

My Place in Poptropica: Golden Singer

This is a guest post from Golden Singer sharing her My Place in Poptropica story, which is all about oneโ€™s Poptropica journey. Enjoy!

Hi Poptropicans, this is a guest post by yours truly, Golden Singer! And Iโ€™m here to share my “My Place in Poptropica” (MPIP) story with you! Right now I am eight, and this is my first year on the Poptropica Help Blog. Enjoy!

2016โ€“2017 | Bored of board games

I was 4 years old and I was bored while playing boring board games. So I logged on my computer and just started playing online games. Thenโ€ฆ I saw a pop-up saying “Poptropica: play now.” So I pressed on it and it brought me to some game.

I pressed on “new player” and made my account, then I started playing! The first Island I remember playing was Monkey Wrench Island. Later, in 2017, I started buying stuff from the store, but didn’t get much. So I tried to beat more Islands.

Monkey Wrench Island

2018โ€“2019 | Rewind

I stopped playing Poptropica for a while. I forgot my password, so I had to make a new account. My first account’s name was Icy Horse, but now my name is Golden Singer. All the stuff I had was gone, and I couldn’t get them back, so I decided to finish the same Islands I did before.

Thenโ€ฆ I found the Poptropica Help Blog! I didn’t go on it as much as I do now, but itโ€™s ok โ€” I started beating more islands and it was fun!

2020 | The end of Flash

The end of Flash was kind of hard on me. All the island worlds I’d beat disappeared! I was kind of sad about that, but at least I still had fun, because Poptropica is fun.

2021โ€“beyond | The future

The future of Poptropica is coming, with all the excitement about the new things in Poptropica like the new Poptropica Islands. I’m looking forward to it all!

So thatโ€™s My Place in Poptropica. If you like this one, check out all the other MPIP stories on the PHB too. Bye!

Hope you enjoyed this โ€œMy Place in Poptropicaโ€ story! If you did, youโ€™ll probably enjoy our other MPIP stories here on the PHB.

Clubhouse Tour: Invisible Ring ๐Ÿก

Hey Poptropicans, this is a guest post by Invisible RingEnjoy!

Hi, Iโ€™m Invisible Ring, and this is my first guest post on the PHB! I never thought about writing for the PHB before, but when Slanted Fish saw my clubhouse and invited me to write a clubhouse tour, I got really excited and decided to go for it!

Shoutout to Silver Horse, because without your clubhouse tour, I wouldnโ€™t have thought of planting flowers around my clubhouse.

Poptropica challenged us to submit our clubhouses to them a few months ago, so I made a YouTube walkthrough of my clubhouse. But for this guest post, I felt like I could do better with my clubhouse at this point, so I rebuilt it from the ground up! This video shows how my clubhouse looked before I changed it. How does it compare?

While I was rebuilding my clubhouse, I saw a lot of clubhouse tours on the PHB, and the creative decorating and storytelling in all of them were a huge inspiration for me! I had a lot of fun the whole time decorating everything, and I just finished all of my new designs. So without further ado, letโ€™s open the door and see whatโ€™s inside!

The first thing to do is to get outta bed. Hmmmโ€ฆ Is it just me, or does this bed look exactly like the bed of the 21st-century Powerpuff Girls? Oh, thereโ€™s my game center! I gotta get on and see whatโ€™s new on Poptropica today!

Now to head down to my dressing room. Lookinโ€™ sharpโ€ฆ now what?

I suppose I should get a head start on my online schoolwork over hereโ€ฆ Nah. Iโ€™ll do it tomorrow. I have a clubhouse to tour!

I got my own movie theater over here, complete with popcorn, soda, and a big bean bag. Oh snap, whereโ€™s the remote? Do I even HAVE a remote? Oh well, moving on.

This is where the music happens! I got a trumpet right here, which is perfect because I actually have a trumpet myself! Oh look, thereโ€™s a karaoke corner too! โ€œMamma mia, here I go again, my, myโ€ฆโ€ Hold on, what am I doing? I gotta stay focused and continue the tour!

I like this part. Itโ€™s the perfect place to play pretend and film a movie! Itโ€™s a jungle over here, so watch out! Iโ€™ve got a sword and Iโ€™m not afraid to use it! And donโ€™t even think about messinโ€™ with my dragon or… Say, that is one awesome view outside that window up there!

Cut! Cut! Do a recount! Do a retake! Do something! Thatโ€™ll never do! …Hey, who threw that basketball?? Oh right, thereโ€™s a basket right above me. I should move that basket sometime so I can film without any distractions.

These gardens are my favorite part of my clubhouse! But I think I got lost in them again. No, wait, I see something! I think itโ€™s a pool. Care for a swim? Donโ€™t worry, we got the life preservers and towels right here. Just keep your wetsuit on and watch out for the Squirtgun-slingers!

Well, itโ€™s been fun, but that wraps up my clubhouse tour. Wait a minute, I almost forgot about that lever over there! I have more rooms to tour! I guess itโ€™s not the end โ€” itโ€™s just the beginning!

Say, what time is it? Oh no, look at the time! As much as I wanna pull that lever, I canโ€™t, โ€˜cause I gotta go! I have other stuff I need to do, but Iโ€™ll get to work on part 2 of my house tour as soon as I can. Thanks for reading, hope you enjoyed the tour, and Iโ€™ll catch you guys later! Gotta run!

Who is your favorite Poptropica creature? ๐Ÿฆ‡

Itโ€™s time for a Poptropica popularity contest! As requested through this guest post by Smart Icicle, share your favorite non-Poptropican creatures from the game in the comments, and we’ll see who comes out on top.

Animal Kingdom: Come to me, jungle friends.

Hello! This is Smart Icicle. Now you may have recognized me from my poll on favorite villains (and its Pop 5 follow-up) or from a post on cultural connections of a famous Poptropica villain, Captain Crawfish.

This time, the focus is not on any villains, heroes, or islands.. it is going to be on animals. Allow me to ask a question: who is your favorite creature from Poptropica? Since there have been so many, instead of doing a poll, I’m asking everyone to share your faves in the comments of this post. To get you thinking, here are a few of mine:

There are lots more creatures listed on the Poptropica Wiki, but be sure to pick ones that aren’t also human Poptropicans!

So comment down below about your favorite creature(s) from Poptropica, and I’ll tally them up for a future Pop 5 post! Comments must be made by April 30 to be considered, and the top creatures will be announced sometime in May. See you soon, Smart Icicle out! ๐Ÿ“šโ„๏ธ
