Recap: PHB’s gr8 8th birthday party for Poptropica!

As you may know, Poptropica has been celebrating their 8th birthday these past two weeks, and to join in the 8-bit festivities, this past Saturday the PHB invited all Poptropicans to join in for a party on the PHC and Poptropica! Thanks to all those who came; we hope you’d r8 it 8/8!

Don’t all those balloons look so orn8? With birthday balloons of various colors (and similar-looking musical trees) filling up the several Multiverse rooms we had going on, plus fireworks being set off as players competed in games and got turned into pixel pigs, the party rooms were definitely very lively (and laggy, because Poptropica can’t handle our partying 😉 ).

Over on the PHC (the PHB’s official Poptropica Help Chat), Poptropicans enjoyed chatting with each other, got to meet a few PHB authors (UiPE, BT, Sam, Slip, and yours truly were there!), and even had some fun on the Doodle feature with Poptropica artists like MasterPinpey!

The party went on for a few hours, and it was great to see many of you there! For those who couldn’t come, as well as those who had a fun time, remember the PHC is always open – not just during PHB parties – and we welcome you there to hang out with other Poptropicans anytime! I’m doing a very special post for everyone today! Well, the most wonderful time of the year is here, and no, it’s not Christmas – it’s Poptropica’s 8th Birthday!

This year’s celebration is quite different from our traditional one. Remember the pixel Prized Porker we saw last week? As you can guess, it does have something to do with this year’s celebrations! You may have seen this critter hopping across the login screen, for starters.

For the first time ever, Poptropica is going to add a World Champions live map for a classic Poptropica island: Early Poptropica! Not only that, members and non-members can compete against the crown of being a top finisher for the first ever Poptropica island. And if it’s your first time finishing EP, you’ll get 200 credits instead of the typical 150! Isn’t that the best thing ever?

The yearly balloon hunt is now on as well! This year’s prize is different from past years. Once you pop the 8th birthday balloon in common rooms, you will receive the 8-bit Birthday Pixel Pig Power! (What a long name!) Happy hunting!

UPDATE: WOAH GUYS. WOAH. I (Slippery Raptor) just got first place on the Early Poptropica World Champions Map. Best birthday ever? Other PHB authors and friends ranked pretty impressively as well: HPuterpop (Messy Sinker) was #11, UiPE (Yellow Sword) was #6, and his twin brother Giant Hawk finished at #7! Congratulations to all the finishers! :mrgreen:

Heyyo Poptropicans, it’s Ultim8 iPad Expert here with some news on Poptropica’s 8th birthday! The Creators took to their blog to explain a little about what’s happening for this year’s celebration. For those who don’t know, Poptropica’s birthday is in September – the whole month counts, because no one seems to know the specific date. 😛

Anyway, it seems we’ll be getting more giveaways, which could mean some really epic prizes. They also mentioned games, which I’m not sure about really. Does this mean some sort of birthday mini-game or something? Who knows? Looks like the fun starts next week on September 15th:

I’m excited to see what Poptropica does for this year’s birthday suit, if there’s to be one, and so are fellow PHB authors Slip and HP. Check out this fan idea from Slip, plus HP’s remade version:

So that’s all for the 8th birthday so far, but I wanted to give a little update from the Poptropica (Help) Wiki. If you’ve visited there recently, you may have noticed our new logo:

That’s not all – we’ve also been working on a spiffy redesign for the entire website! Just a reminder that we recently relocated from Wikia to host the wiki on Gamepedia – head over there to check out the new layout and help with editing pages!

Hey everyone! As you may have gathered from the invitation above, you’re all invited to join the PHB in celebrating Poptropica’s 7th birthday this Saturday, September 20th on our official chat, the PHC! I’ll also be turning 15, and I’d really love to celebrate with you all! Just to reiterate, here are the details:

  • WHO: Poptropicans of all ages who want to hang out & have fun!
  • WHAT: Partying in Multiverse rooms on Pop, playing games, and chatting on the PHC, and possibly playing some music on plug.dj
  • WHEN: Saturday, September 20th @ 7pm EST / 6pm CST / 5pm MST / 4pm PST (for those who don’t live in America, use a time converter to check when that’ll be in your time zone!)
