Speaking of pictures, the Creators have also posted a new sneak peek for Back Lot Island, which appears to be a rather grainy movie clip of a chase sequence in a “Wild West” (not the island) film in sepia. Sometimes that’s just what a movie needs, along with heroes and villains and all.
Secondly, I found out about some more books on the Barnes and Noble website (I’m unsure if anybody saw this before me, sorry!), part of a series called Poptopics. They don’t have covers yet, by the way:
Introducing an exciting new line of nonfiction titles inspired by the world of Poptropica.
Many of the Poptropica islands feature stories based around different Mythologies, but what’s presented on the screen is far from the whole story. This 64-page nonfiction book introduces kids to the bigger world of Mythology in a fun and engaging way.
Introducing an exciting new line of nonfiction titles inspired by the world of Poptropica.
The Poptropica island Lunar Colony presents a fun, but fictional view of space travel—however, the origins of that story are based in fact. This 64-page nonfiction book introduces kids to the history and current advancements of space travel in a fun and engaging way.
These two new books are probably going to be like the Magic Tree House Fact Tracker series, with that it gives background information on what is presented in Poptropica. For the Mythology one, they’ll probably talk about the mythologies some Poptropica islands are based around on, such as the Scandinavian woodland creatures of Twisted Thicket, and of course, the Grecian gods and monsters of Mythology Island. And for the space travel one, they’ll probably talk about how space travel works in real life, and how some things compare to our adventures in Lunar Colony.

(Scroll down the post for news on the members’ Back Lot Island gear pack!)
Something for the Non-Members: For the first time ever, the creators have announced the first 10 Non-Members to complete the latest island. Not only that, it is the first time that the “Top 10 Finishers” has been presented in this new 1-photo format.
I will admit, I love yelling action and cut and pretending I’m J.J. Abrams just as much as the next guy but… I do wonder where in the world are the other two items, the Silent Treatment power, and the Clapperboard item? I guess only time will tell. Let’s hope that we see the next two items and a release date for Back Lot Island some time soon!
Edit: The Clapboard itemhas now been released! Thanks to Thing 1 for the heads up. When you activate it you yell “Take 1” “Take 2” and “Take 3” and slap the Clapboard together. Now we just need the final power!
Yet another edit: The final power has been released: the Silent Treatment power! You can now turn the world of Poptropica into a black-and-white world of film history with the click of a button!
Hey guys, BT here. First of all, the mall cop adventure, Night Watch Island, is now available to the public! If you’re having a hard time coping with Eddie the coral snake and a burglar on the loose, check out our Night Watch Island guide here.
First of all, here’s the trailer that makes you really feel like you’re watching a cartoon:
And people say that making a movie isn’t all fun and games. And here’s what the info page says:
The greatest filmmaker of all time has come out of hiding, and he needs your help to make his masterpiece. But will you be producing the next big blockbuster, or is there trouble in tinseltown? From the first frame to the final cut, it’s lights, camera, action!
So… we’re making a movie? Hmm… I wonder what it would be? Now, here’s the Bonus Quest information, which brings some distressing news for our poor Poptropican characters:
The back lot’s owners have returned– and they want you off their property! Can you outrun studio security and get away with a valuable souvenir? Find out how to get membership now!
Oh great. -_- . But why would our Poptropicans, usually selfless, want to steal bring along some sort of souvenir?
Now, here’s the desktop wallpaper:
So is that the famed filmmaker the main island description was talking about? Sheesh, he’s a stern-looking fellow.
And here’s the printable poster:
I see an award winner (who looks like Audrey Hepburn), old fashioned comedy, diva, some Elvis Presley looking guy, a director with a clapboard, some King Kong style thing, the director guy, a female pilot, a Wild West style thing (wait, is that Elmer?), a Gollum look-a-like (from The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit trilogies), and The Hobo guy (A spoof on The Hobbit) on a Hollywood style background. Hmm…
And here’s the Member’s Only Gold Cards:
So what do you think of this upcoming Back Lot Island?
