Hello, everyone — long time no speak! It’s been a little while, but it’s time for another Pop Fan Artist Spotlight! Today, I’ll be showcasing the works of ray-of-flight.

Ray-of-flight draws in a variety of cute, cartoonish styles that really do Poptropica characters well! Their use of lighting and other affects really make their pieces something to look at. Take a look at this gallery of some of his best work:

What’s up, Poptropicans? It’s about time! We didn’t get a shop update last month, so after two months of waiting, did Poptropica deliver? Well, kind of…

Despite the fact that most items are members only, I do appreciate the brand new winter outfits and the integration of the gender-specific costumes for all genders (i.e. all of the above winter outfits are available regardless of your character’s gender). Just like Worlds, it offers more customization options for certain handheld items and accessories.

Sneak Peeks

A peek at the pet barn 🐾

Hello, Poptropicans!

If you’ve seen Poptropica’s latest sneak peek, you’ll see construction for the Pet Barn is nearly finished, and soon we’ll all be able to adopt our very own companion animal — how exciting! Here’s one of the screenshots that was posted on the Creators’ Blog yesterday:

We can see that there’ll be at least 4 different animals to choose from: a bunny rabbit (which appears to be exclusive to members only), a dog, a chameleon, and a cat — which in my opinion kind of looks like another type of dog. 😅

In the previous gif sneak peek we received in November last year, we saw a goat along with the others which is now absent. I think it’s safe to assume it’s just cropped out of the game screen in this particular sneak peek, so no biggie.

The animals are cute as they are, but how cool is it that we’ll actually be able to change their color (using the colorizer tool!)? All the more way to make your pet your own!

In the post on the Creators’ Blog, they imply that there’ll be other ways to customize your pet. In what ways would you like to make your pet unique? I’m hoping for some clothing options, myself.

Well, that about wraps it up as far as news goes. There are a few questions I’d like to ask the creators regarding this upcoming feature before I sign off, though:

  1. Will we be able to name our pets?
  2. Can we have multiple pets?
  3. Can having a pet benefit us? (e.g. in Club Penguin, pets called Puffles could dig up coins and special items while walking them around)

Advertisements, Member Gifts, Membership

The Gifts That Would Be For Members Only

What’s up, Poptropicans? It’s Lucky Joker here with this month’s wintery member gifts and an advertisement.

If you’re currently a member, you’ll receive three winter styles upon logging in. Boys will receive outfits called Frosty, Ice, and Cool, and girls will receive outfits called Meow, Toasty, and Snugly.

Remember, if you purchase a membership any time within January, you’ll obtain all the member’s gifts (corresponding to your character’s gender).

Also, an ad for the upcoming movie, The Kid Who Would Be King (which premieres on January 25), can be found on various islands. Home Island or 24 Carrot would be your best bet.

There’s no game this time, but there are prizes. To get them, all you have to do is watch the short video trailer.

Magic!

New Years is a magical time for a lot of people, as well as a chance to start fresh and work towards new goals. Meanwhile, fictional worlds like Poptropica bring similar magic to a wide variety of players! From the simple wonders of fortune cookies to the grand impressions of Disney World, magic is something that everyone loves to behold. So… it’s an appropriate theme to kick off the new year!

Well, what can you submit exactly then? With this broad theme, the only limit is your imagination! Draw a scene from one of the most magical islands! Create costumes for beautiful fairies or other magical creatures! Write a mystical Pop fan-fiction filled with spellbinding twists and turns! The magic is up to you…
