Pies, Rants, and 2nd Rate

?-Hello, my friends. Unfortunally, EL7 was the last of the ELs and was eaten by a large group of sharks with black eyes and chicken pox. However, I can take over this post and many more to come.

Director D-WHHHHYYY!!!??

?-What is wrong, little one?

DD-I lost the elections! Even after my patriotic speech on how Medusa was 2nd worst!

Why you should vote for me, Director D.

Hello, Poptropicans. It has come to my attention that I am currently lagging in the polls behind Medusa.

Medusa!

Elections such as these are about issues, and no issue is more important than a candidate’s appearance. I ask you to consider my perfectly coiffed salt-and-pepper hair, and then look at the hideous mess of wriggling snakes that Medusa calls a hairdo. Or, rather, don’t look at it, because you will immediately turn to stone. That’s the kind of villain she is. I, on the other hand, only want what’s best for you: a sleek, aerodynamic cranial appearance.

I mean, honestly, Medusa? She’s not even the main villain on Mythology Island. Zeus is! Medusa is a miniboss at best. I don’t even think she’s qualified to participate in this election. Until we see her longform boss certificate, we should consider her an illegitimate candidate.

You have one day left to vote in this round. Vote Director D. for best Poptropica villain!

?-Would you like a candy?
DD-OK! NOMNOMNOMNOM…..nomnomnomnomnomnomnom…..nnnnnnnnnnnnooooooooooommmmmmmm…zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
*later in an abandoned garage*
DD-Where am I?
?-Hello, Director Donaldious. I would like to play a game.
DD-What game do want to play?
?-Poptropica.
DD-But I am in Poptropica.
?-Exactly. I can control you at any point. I know your password and username. I can put you in stainless steel straps. I can put you in lonely chambers. ♪ I can show you the world! Shining, shimering, splended! ♪
P.S. There is also a new ad on main street. Survive the pies, or face falling text boxes. Bugs Bunny or Narrators. Live or Die. Make your choice.

Daily Pop, Skullduggery Island, Sneak Peeks, Store

Trees, Japanese, ships on seas and a winter freeze.

Hey guys! GB here. So sorry I haven’t posted in like, a MONTH. I was busy with… errands and stuff. 😛

Anyway, off the off-topicness, and on with the on topicness!

I report PCB posts!

Go climb a tree

What do you suppose is happening here?

I’ve never seen a Poptropican do that before…avatar image
CAPTAIN CRAWFISH

OMBR (Oh my blinking radish) that’s so cool! It looks like a tall tree too, and what do we grip on to?! What are we, part monkeys?! (BTW, I know a few siblings of mine who already are part monkey, in the noise factor, they’re howler monkeys)

Memoirs of a Poptropica costume

Looking through the store, it seems there are even more Japanese-inspired costumes that can get you geared up for the upcoming launch of Red Dragon Island. This Geisha costume for girls comes with a special item.

The Shamisen is a traditional three-stringed instrument found in Japan, which is a speciality of the Geisha. Put on this costume and press the spacebar to strum your Shamisen. Then sing yourself a happy tune as you await Red Dragon Island.

Yeahhh…. we kinda knew that already…

From the vault

Time goes by so quickly on Poptropica. Hard to believe that it’s been a year since we started working on Skullduggery Island. Here’s an early sketch of the Phoenix Warbird, dated from April 2010.

Somehow, that ended up being the ship that sank… me! Incredible.avatar image

OMBAWRWO! (Oh my blinking and winking radish with onions… lol, I love being random) It’s a birthday!!!! WE NEED A CAKE!!!!! CANDLES!! RADISH!!! SONG!!!! 😀
Happy birthday to it,
I almost had a fit,
When I forgot it’s special day,
But we’ll PARTY anyway!! 😉
I am such a poet… 😆

Sleigh ride

It’s time to check in once again on our top scorers in the Daily Pop. This month, let’s take a look at our Sleigh Shot leaderboards. Because who doesn’t want to play a Christmas-themed game in April?

The scores are pretty tight. As of this writing, the day’s leader is Sticky Spinner with 7,917 points. The week’s leader is Green Catfish, with 8,310 points. But your monthly leader is…

Hyper Crumb, with 9,081 points! That looks like a beatable score to me. Do you have what it takes to become the top Sleigh Shot scorer in the month of April? You have a little over a week to find out!

The creators are always just having posts telling us what we already know. Geez creators, get your game on. More peeks, less repeats.
Not that it rhymes, but it should be good. (did I mention I’ve got nearly 450 words in this post! Geez! I write such infrequent, mammoth posts!)
Later peeps!

Smashing Success

Hey PHB readers! Just wanted to thank all of you for continuing to come to the Poptropica Help Blog, as we have just hit 4.8 million pageviews (and hopefully reach 5 million by summer)!

Last night’s PHB Author Night [2] was a smashing success, and although I was not available, those in attendance can probably attest to having a great time chatting with PHB authors and other fellow readers! If you would like to be a part of a Poptropica chat community, the PHC (Poptropica Help Chat) is a friendly place and an affiliate of ours. The next Author Night will be here before we know it, and hopefully continues to become a successful event!

See the champion, my friend.

The Poptropica Creators have a new post on their blog about the Daily Pop game leaderboards for the ‘brick-obliterating’ “Smashing.” Captain Crawfish admits he’s not doing quite as well the current top champion, Grumpy Lightning with his score of 1,199,000. Nice job!

The PHB probably won’t be posting this kind of post (Daily Pop game scores) much, since it isn’t really considered news that most people would prefer to see, but if you’re interested: it’s a reminder that scores reset at the beginning of the month, so you’d better get “smashing” if you want to beat that high score!

[Update] Game for another SMASH HIT? The Flamin’ Skulls Poptropica band is out with a new song – “Drawn This Way,” a parody of Lady Gaga’s new hit ‘Born This Way,’ written by FS fan Scootdaloop188! And this one’s about sketchydoodley (okay that’s not a word xD) Wimpy Wonderland!

CAPTAIN CRAWFISH

Well, that’s pretty much the “Let them eat cake” isn’t it? (For those who don’t know, “Let them eat cake” were the words that started the French revolution) If that doesn’t start a non-member revolution then I don’t know what will. -___-
Changing the subject, here are a few sneaky peakies from the Daily Pop.
Home Sweet Home: Just a quiet house in the suburbs. Or is it? Yes, it is.

No! It’s home to the chicken, who, quite famously, crossed the road. :O
Track Changes: You might want to watch out for anyone from the wrong side of the tracks. But which side is that?

Oh, dur. It’s the right side that’s the wrong side! Uh, wait no, it’s left that’s right and right that’s left! Um, no, I got it, the right is half wrong and the left is half right, but how much more half wrong or right than the other side? It’s tough to say. Hmmmmmmmmmm.
Old School: This is Poptropica — you know there’s more here than meets the eye.

Yep, there are cheerleaders hiding inside the lockers, ready to leap out and cheer the new cheer. Or the lockers are revolving doors that lead the cheerleaders into the tryouts. Or………….. *suspense*…………….. it’s a school! *SCREAM!!!*
Dryer Eyes: Even more fantastical adventures await. Behold, the Laundromat!

Yeah, fantastical! Socks, breeches and britches!
We did not know you were real,
But the creators reveal these pictures!
Round and round and round you go,
making the wet clothes dry!
It sounds so exciting,
so in our blimp we’ll fly!
To laundry island! The island of clothes!
And washing machines, I’ll bet!
Everyone’s cleaning, and washing their clothes!
Be careful not to get wet!
But now the soap is running out,
and the clothes are clogged with mud!
Everyone pays for brand soap,
But the mixture is actually a dud!
So you catch this fraud, this crooked thief,
The one who everyone blames!
The wicked soap maker, who is called,
Ironically, Dirty James!
Ta daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!
Later, peeps. Green Boa
