Fanfic: The Pink Knight, Part 3/4 💕🪶

Hey Poptropicans, this is a guest post by Dizzy FeatherEnjoy!

It’s Dizzy Feather here, with part three of my fanfiction, The Pink Knight. (Read parts one and two here!) Also, the next and last Poptropican to be featured in the story is Pink Crush. (Don’t worry if you didn’t get picked; there may be more chances in the future.) That said, let’s go!

We see DIZZY FEATHER walking inside of the Con. Suddenly a group of people run past her and security pushes them back. DIZZY FEATHER pushes through the crowd to see what all the fuss is about. In front of the crowd is a small table with clothes hanging. On the right there is a green folding chair seating famous fashion designer PINK CRUSH.

SECURITY GUARD:
OK, one at a time.

The GUARDS make sure people to stay in line. DIZZY FEATHER walks away from the line.

A few hours later, PINK CRUSH walks out of the Con exhausted, and crashes into — DIZZY FEATHER, literally. DIZZY FEATHER gets back on her feet first and walks over to help PINK CRUSH up.

Pink Crush

DIZZY FEATHER:
I’m so sorry! Are you OK?

PINK CRUSH takes DIZZY FEATHER’s hand and gets back up.

PINK CRUSH:
Apology not necessary, and yes, I’m OK.

DIZZY FEATHER:
You’re Pink Crush, right?

PINK CRUSH:
Yes I am.

DIZZY FEATHER:
I don’t want to bother you too much — I’m sure you’re always being bothered by fans. But I love your work, especially your smart cape and the safety jumpsuit you came out with a couple years ago.

PINK CRUSH:
Wow! I can’t believe you remember those. They were not popular or fancy, but they’re some of my favorites.

DIZZY FEATHER:
It always confused me how they got bad reviews! The cape literally popped off when it was pulled on or got caught on fire, and the jumpsuit was so thin but bulletproof and fireproof. They were amazing.

PINK CRUSH:
The bad reviews were because nobody thought they’d be useful for normal Poptropicans. Call me crazy, I actually knew the reviews would be bad, but I designed them for superheroes.

DIZZY FEATHER:
I don’t think you’re crazy! There are real superheroes out there.

PINK CRUSH:
Thanks. I wonder if the superheroes have cape problems, like if their capes get stuck on things and stuff — you never see that in movies.

DIZZY FEATHER:
Is that why you made the smart cape, to somehow help the superheroes out there?

PINK CRUSH:
That and I have always wanted to design something for a superhero! The jumpsuit and cape are probably the closest I’ll ever get to doing that.

DIZZY FEATHER:
You never know, it could happen one day. Sorry I took up so much of your time, have a great rest of your day!

PINK CRUSH:
You too.

Cut to DIZZY FEATHER in the atrium. Suddenly a figure leaps out of the shadows and pulls the straps on Dizzy Feather’s backpack. Her outfit is replaced with the PINK KNIGHT’s uniform.

Purple Galaxy

PURPLE GALAXY:
Hello, Pink Knight. I haven’t seen you in two years. Whatcha doing here?

PINK KNIGHT:
I could say the same to you! Amelia sent me to protect the Con this year.

PURPLE GALAXY:
Well, I would have liked to have more than one person stopping an invasion, but I don’t have a choice. Omegon is attacking Home Island with an army of robots! The Knight Squadron is taking care of that though. Meanwhile, the Lightning Hero is defending the kingdom of Arturus from Binary Bard, and I was going to hop in the spaceship and shut down E. Vile’s invasion, but I’m going to help the Lightning Hero since you’re here already.

PINK KNIGHT:
I thought that was E. Vile’s spaceship. Also, how were you planning on stopping E. Vile’s invasion from inside the spaceship?

PURPLE GALAXY:
Just get inside the spaceship and unplug the main computer. It’s easy, there’s no way it could go wrong.

PURPLE GALAXY disappears. The PINK KNIGHT pulls the string out of her pocket and her uniform turns back into DIZZY FEATHER’s.

History Lesson: Golden age, silver age, outrage… we’ve got it all.

Hope you enjoyed the third part of this story! Would love to hear your thoughts in the comments.

Pop 5: Most Underrated Islands

Hey Poptropicans, this is a guest post by Silver Shell. Enjoy!

Hey Poptropicans! It’s Silver Shell again with a new Pop 5 post.

You’ve heard of Pop 5: Underrated Characters. You’ve seen Pop 5: What would happen if there were no Villains. But now it’s time for a Pop 5 of Most Underrated Islands — a top 5 list of amazing islands that don’t get the attention they deserve.

#5: Wild West Island

I love this island, but it’s not super popular among the majority of the fandom. I think everyone enjoyed riding Elmer, playing Slap Jack, and herding cattle, but like most of the islands on this list, this adventure was overshadowed by the longer, more challenging islands.

#4: SOS Island

When Old Poptropica was brought back for a short while in 2020, SOS Island was the first classic I played, and I loved it. I liked how although you didn’t interact with NPCs all that much, there were a lot of little mini-games, each revealing a little part of what really happened after you complete them. I loved the twist ending as well.

#3: Nabooti Island

This one took me forever to complete. I loved flying around Africa, exploring different regions and collecting jewels. (Spoiler alert: Not gonna lie, though, the part when the totem pole comes to life, talks, and flies away did freak me out.) I had to look up how to play Mancala before I could even do the Mountains of the Moon part because I had no idea what this game was, and I didn’t really understand what I was supposed to do when I was taking pictures for Big Zeke, but this was still one of my favorite islands.

#2: Big Nate Island

I feel like the islands based on comics, books, and other franchises unrelated to Poptropica don’t get as much attention as the more original islands do, but Big Nate Island really nailed it as far as gameplay, storytelling, and humor goes. I really miss playing this one.

And last but certainly not least…

#1: Great Pumpkin Island

Okay, you gotta love Charlie Brown and this island. Even though I didn’t know what to do when the Red Baron ship was chasing me in Snoopy’s mini-game, and I had a really hard time with the part where you roll the pumpkin over to the Van Pelt house, I loved the simple yet challenging gameplay, the hilarious cutscenes, and the lovable characters. This was an overall fantastic island that feels like it should be more popular.

So there you have it! These are five islands I believe to be underrated and don’t have all the attention they deserve. Hope you enjoyed it!

On another note, does anyone here know about Blooket? It’s a site where you can take random quizzes and play games, and I recently created a quiz about Old Poptropica!

It’s got a range of trivia questions about the game from basic to advanced, and I’m always adding new questions! You’ll need a free account to play. Once you log in, look for my “Ultimate Poptropica Quiz” by searching for it under the “Discover” tab.

Please try it out and let me know what you think of it! You can share your suggestions for new questions in the comments. Thanks for reading!

Popsona: Pink Crush, Fashionista 💖💃

Hey Poptropicans, this is a guest post by Pink Crush. Enjoy!

Hi Poptropicans! Pink Crush here! You may have heard of my name from my fashion series on the Poptropica Creators’ Blog or other guest posts I’ve shared here on the PHB (linked below in the post).

Anyway, I wanted to do a post more about me, Pink Crush (not me like in real life, but my Popsona, or Poptropica persona). So, a good place to start is the beginning. My full name is Pinkertia Rosella-Moreau Crush, but I shortened it to Pink Crush for ease.

I was born and raised on Mythology Island, where I developed a deep love for Greek mythology (side note: in real life, I actually do love Greek mythology!). Even though I’m from Mythology Island, I do have French ancestry. In fact, I am closely related to Mademoiselle Moreau, whom you know from Mystery Train Island.

Living and growing up on Mythology Island was full of great experiences. As time passed, I developed an interest in traveling the world and visited many Poptropica islands.

Years later, I went to Paris, France to pursue a career in the fashion industry. I loved fashion because of this great idea of expressing yourself to the world in what you wear. Also, because dressing up is fun!

I went to the fine institutions of fashion in Paris. After that, I began to travel the world again, making designs and making a name for myself. Soon I realized that I needed a place to settle down.

I came upon an Island named “Home Island,” though I didn’t know yet that this would be my home. I got myself a house and went adventuring on many other islands. As I really made a home for myself, I got an idea to write a fashion blog, reconnecting with my passion.

Many loved my post, so I made another one, and even did a clubhouse tour. Basically, that leads us up to now, where I am officially in the Look Book on the PHB, and known as a fashion advisor to the Poptropica community. You could say I am starting to have a bit of fame.

Nowadays, I am at home, making more fashion designs, creating outfits and sharing them to all of Poptropica. I also love to meet new Poptropicans, or catch up with friends once in a while.

Let’s see, what else? I have eight pets, and I splurge on them often because I love my pets! 😊 I also have a lot of friends in my friends list — like, a lot. It takes about a minute or two to get through the whole list! I’ve even added some of the PHB staff. I love making friends, so if you want to be friends, my username is GoldenPuppy3.

I love desserts and sweets — basically anything with sugar. I try not to eat too much though, because eating too many sweets isn’t good for you, but can still have some once in a while. I visit the Poptropica Help Blog (PHB) and the Poptropica Creators’ Blog almost every day.

Every summer, I go on a worldwide trip to many of my favorite places, and to ones I haven’t been to yet. As a result, Pink Crush won’t really be around much, but shall be back in the autumn. I’ll often go to Paris to do fashion shows, and to just visit.

All Is Fair: Let’s skip all the exposition, shall we?

I do wish some Poptropica features will come back, but until then, I love to go adventuring on mountains and meeting creatures. I hope that maybe one day I can make a Poptropica magazine with fashion tips, interviews, and more.

*checks time* Oh dear! I have been talking for a long time. Well, that’s all for now folks! If you have anything you want to ask me, Pink Crush, please feel free to comment below. Bye for now, and keep crushing it! 💖

My Place in Poptropica: Dizzy Feather

This is a guest post from Dizzy Feather sharing her My Place in Poptropica story, which is all about one’s Poptropica journey. Enjoy!

Hello everyone! It’s me, Dizzy Feather, the Poptropican who is posting way too many comments on here. Anyway, I decided to write a “My Place in Poptropica” story.

2014 | Finding the game

In my school’s computer lab, I had finished my work, and the teacher let those who finished play games. At the time I loved Coolmath Games, so of course I went to that site. But this one girl next to me was playing a game I had never seen before. I asked her what she was playing, and she told me: “Poptropica.” It looked amazing, so I set up my first account.

When I got into the game, I had zero clue what I was supposed to do. I thought it was a game where you visit islands, look around, buy some stuff to make costumes, and decorate your clubhouse. I stayed on it for a few months until I forgot my username. Instead of setting up a new account, I went back to Coolmath Games.

Treeline: What wood you do?

2016 | Poptropica on tablet

A couple years later, I was thinking about all the computer games I used to play and googling them to see if they were still there. Poptropica came up, and I saw it was still going strong. I remembered how much fun I had on it, and downloaded the app on my tablet. I then found out, you were supposed to do something on the islands, can you believe it? Why I didn’t know that at first, I have no idea.

I couldn’t figure out the first few episodes of Survival, so I went to the fourth one — for some reason I thought it would be easier. When my character got locked in the guest bedroom, I thought I was supposed to wait in there till the hunt began, so I waited and waited. It wasn’t until I got the bear claw that I figured out I was supposed to get out of the room. I decided that I should talk to the cook, and after more than a dozen times of being sent back to the room, I got the idea that I didn’t want the cook to see me.

Hail to the Chef: Cleaver? I hardly know her!

Anyway, I got bored on that island, so I went to Shrink Ray. I just walked around the house as a shrunken character. Then Monkey Wrench came out, and I finally got my first medallion. Right after I did, my tablet broke. By the time I got a new one, I forgot about Poptropica yet again.

2022 | Rediscovering a different Poptropica

A few months ago, I was playing Coolmath Games when I saw an advertisement for Poptropica. I remembered playing it and decided to try it again. I made another account, but this time I realized most of the islands were gone. So I googled why that was, and found out Poptropica ran on Flash, which had been shut down.

Make Your Mark: Despoiling nature, one vainglorious act of vandalism at a time.

I looked at my player name and I didn’t like it, so I changed it. I scrolled through the names and found a super cute one: “Dizzy Feather.” A few months later, I found the Pop Creators’ Blog. Reading through all the guest posts, I wanted to write of my own. I sent messages to Poptropica about guest writing, and recently they asked me to send in my first post!

But it took some time for that email to come in, and during that time I was looking at fanfictions and started writing my first one, The Pink Knight. One of the fanfictions I found was The Villain Saga, here on the PHB. I looked at the site and soon found the comments section — now I can’t stop using it.

In Tree, Intrigue: The lone pine returns.

I soon found their Write for the PHB page and decided to send in my fanfiction before I forgot I wrote it. Soon after it was published on the PHB, I joined the PHB’s Discord server as M.

And that’s My Place in Poptropica! See you next time.

Hope you enjoyed this “My Place in Poptropica” story! If you did, you’ll probably enjoy our other MPIP stories here on the PHB.

If you haven’t already shared your story, we invite you to send in your own. Interested in writing for the PHB under a different Pop-topic? Take a look at our Write for the PHB page for ideas, guidelines, and more!
