4 YEAR Fan-Art Journey + REDRAW! 🥶✏️

Despite the “Drawing Your Poptropicans As Emoticons” series coming to an end, and we’re going to ignore the fact that my most recent post was last year, I have not ceased to make Poptropica fan-art! >:D

My most recent drawing is actually a redraw of one of my oldest Poptropica fan-arts. I’ve made it a tradition to recreate every year and figured it would be fun to share my journey with all of you lovely poptropicans.

2022

Let’s start from the beginning, shall we? In 2022, the Poptropica creators did a “12 Days of Member Gifts” design contest. I submitted three ideas, and amazingly, one got used for it! I was an art baby back then and also EXTREMELY new to digital art. Somehow, I drew this on just an old Chromebook with the touch-pad thing under the space-bar. 😂

From the official Poptropica creators, when they announced my design made it! Proud moment for lil me :>

In between the first drawing and the second, I upgraded my drawing situation and saved up enough for a tablet! YIPPEE! I was really excited to have a much easier way to do digital art so I got really into it. So excited in fact, I was drawing faster than my brain could come up with ideas for the art in the first place. 😂 Then, I figured it would be fun to re-draw old art and see how much I’ve improved. I ended up picking my “Just Chillin’ ” drawing because I was still really pleased it got made into an actual in-game costume. 🙂

2023

You can definitely see the slight improvements. The shading exists, overall construction got better, and the line-art got sooooooo much smoother. ✨

For the 2024 redraw, I had developed a specific style for drawing poptropicans that I used for LOTS of drawings, which I applied in that year’s redraw.

2024

In that year, I discovered what layer modes were on procreate which I had A LOT of fun with. I may have gone a bit overboard with the ‘overlay’ mode on this drawing, but I think it’s a cool style and adds some pops of color! 🙂

In December 2025, I was so busy with life and touching grass (you should try it sometime, 10/10 recommend it 😝), that I COMPLETELY forgot about my re-draw tradition! Sometime early February 2026, I had some spare time and was looking at old art when rediscovered my evolutions. Instantly, I whipped up this quick addition which remains to be the most recent ‘Just Chillin’ upgrade! 🥶✏️

2025/26

For this one, I used my favorite brush, which I hadn’t for the others, and went back to the original roots for the pose inspiration. Instead of having the ice drip, it’s sticking up to one side. Another difference is finally having the addition of hair! In previous years I stubbornly didn’t add it (to stick close to the first drawing) but this year I finally caved in because… well… I like drawing hair, what else can I say? 😂✨ I also brought the scarf back from 2023. And while I still enjoy using layer modes excessively (it’s just a part of my art style at this point lol), I think it looks a little better now. 🙂

Thank you for reading along with my voyage with this drawing! I encourage you to redraw YOUR old Poptropica fan-arts and share them with the community because it’s so cool to see how much more skilled you’ve gotten over the years! 😀

Over n’ Out!

Drawing Poptropica Islands: Wave 1 🛕

Hey Poptropicans, this is a guest post by Lucky Fish. Enjoy!

Hello! Today I’m showcasing the first wave of a little art project that I’ve started of drawing all the Poptropica islands to ever exist. I tried doing this back when I was 10, and got all the way to Pelican Rock or Home Island, but since then, my art skills have improved and I now have supplies to work with, so I decided to start fresh. Let’s take a look!

I had to draw Early Poptropica Island twice. I used alcohol markers to make these, and accidentally put too many outlines on the water-tower and the buildings, so I started over. I’m very happy with how clean this one turned out, and with how much the markers bleed, I’m surprised I was able to pull off the name of the island.

Next up is Shark Tooth Island. I kept having to erase what I had because I just couldn’t get it right. Getting the color of the sand was crazy. I had to use this green-yellow that somehow matched. The only thing I dislike about this one is the outlines of the sand, because I definitely messed that color up. But aside from all that, I’m proud of the detail I could pull off on the temple itself.

Time Tangled Island looks a little simple to me. I might fix it later, but probably not. I messed up the clock a bit, but everything else I got right, especially the logo (besides the first T).

Those are my attempts at drawing the first three Poptropica Islands. My plan is to keep making these to assemble them into one huge map. Stay tuned, and have a good day!

Super Mario Galaxy Tour on Poptropica Realms ⭐️👾🍄

Hey Poptropicans, this is a guest post by Invisible Ring, showcasing a Realm inspired by Super Mario Galaxy. Enjoy!

“You’re MINE, purple coins!”

“Go mama go!” “You can do it!” “Don’t give up!”

-GAME OVER-

“NOOOO, not again!”

“You were SO close!”

“I know! Purple comets are the WORST!”

Invisible Ring! …Are you playing Super Mario Galaxy again?

Of course! It’s one of the BEST Mario games… AND my blueprint for building my new Mario-themed Realm Tour…

That you’re LATE for! There are tourists waiting by your Starry Sky Gateway right NOW!

Oh! I forgot! …Good thing I found a magic wand to go with my Rosalina outfit. I’ll be there in a flash.

Welcome to the Comet Observatory of Poptropica Realms! It’s just below this little Gateway planet.  Mama built this planet and this ENTIRE observatory out of a tiny barren rock, just like the Rosalina from Super Mario Galaxy!

Thank you Luma, I couldn’t have said it better myself.

Mama even built ME! And ALL the Lumas you see in this Poptropica Realm!

That’s right! The rest of the Lumas are down below in the observatory and the underground theater.

How are you gonna take the visitors down there, mama? Are you gonna use your wand again?

Not this time, Luma! There’s a red pipe right there. It can take us all down to where the tour begins.

Ok. Good luck, Mama! Good luck, intergalactic tourists!

Oh, good, you made it out of the gate! The tour begins THIS way, just across the bridge! You ready, Mama?

We’re ready, Pink Luma!

Fanfic: The Story of Silent Goose 🥶 Chapter 1: Crash Landing

Hey Poptropicans, this is a guest post by Lucky Fish. Enjoy!

Hey Poptropicans! Lucky Fish here. Today I am going to be showcasing my new written version of Survival Island, featuring the story of Silent Goose as he is stranded in the northern mountains. But enough of my rambling, I now present:

The Story of Silent Goose: A Poptropica Tale
Chapter 1: Crash Landing

It was early. Around three-thirty in the morning. The Poptropica sky above Home Island was still dark, though the faintest hint of morning rested low on the horizon. Most of the few residents were still asleep in their houses, their windows dark and the walkways empty. The island, which was normally full of chatter and excitement during the day, was completely quiet.

Out of a small apartment above the New You store, stepped Silent Goose, a young Poptropican ready for an adventure.

He gently closed the door behind him, careful not to make a sound. Tonight, or rather, this very early morning, was important. Silent Goose was heading to Counterfeit Island to meet some friends, and he didn’t want to wake anyone before he left.

He wore a green shirt with a bright lightning bolt across the front and a pair of blue pants. A pair of round flying goggles were on his forehead, ready for the journey ahead. The cool morning air brushed across his face as he stepped into his large yellow blimp. The blimp drifted as he fell into it. Goose picked himself up, and headed west towards Counterfeit Island.

After about an hour, Silent Goose still saw no trace of the surrounding islands near Counterfeit Island. No Reality TV Island, Astro Knights Island, nothing. Maybe he went the wrong way. Then Goose looked up — the stars were gone. It couldn’t be morning just yet.

Suddenly, it began to rain. First lightly, then harder, and harder. The night was so dark, Goose hadn’t realized he had gone under a raincloud.

SILENT GOOSE: “Ugh. It’s too dark to see anything!”

Then it happened. A big light, and loud BOOM.

SILENT GOOSE: “Well… that can’t be good…”

Silent Goose had sailed straight into a thunderstorm by accident. The wind began to pick up, swinging his blimp from side to side. Suddenly, a huge crash of thunder struck near him. Goose was in danger. He had to get off of this blimp! He was too high up, and the rain was too thick to see anything below.

Then Goose remembered, there was a compartment below his blimp that would allow him to access an emergency parachute. The issue? It’s below the blimp.

Silent Goose thought for a minute if it was worth it to attempt to grab the parachute. But the thunder was getting worse. So he decided it was worth a shot.

Goose climbed over the side of the blimp, and climbed down the wooden ridges towards the base. There, a compartment sat. Goose tried to open it, but it was locked tight. Goose didn’t have the key.

Just then, a blast of thunder struck just next to the blimp, sending some wood-chips straight for Goose. Some landed in his shirt. Goose had an idea. He took a wood-chip, and used it to pick the lock. The door swung open, and the parachute fell out, getting caught by Silent Goose’s feet.

He lifted the parachute with his legs, and held onto it for dear life. Goose looked at his blimp one last time, and jumped. He quickly tugged the string and deployed the parachute. Above, a bolt of lightning struck the blimp directly, and it exploded into flames.

The parachute began to glide very far, and through the smoky clouds. Silent Goose could see the land below. A cold forest. Trees and trees for miles.

The parachute crashed hard into two trees, sending Silent Goose flying, landing on a hill. He tried to get up, but the snow was too slippery, and he began to slide down the small cliff, landing on a solid frozen pond. Everything went dark.

And that was part one of my story! If you are interested, the full version will (eventually) be posted on my blog here. I hope to split it into parts releasing whenever I see fit, with two versions for each part: one in novel form, and one in blog form. So far, I don’t know if I’m ever going to finish this project, but let’s hope I do… one day.

Thanks for reading! Have a great rest of your day!
