The gift of love (and the Snowpocalypse)

Hello, you lovely Poptropicans! This is Gentle Dolphin here with a special Valentine’s-themed Poptropica update!

Poptropica has been showing their love for players all week. First, they gave everyone digital stickers and printable valentines. Then, they gave members exclusive February gifts. Now, Valentine’s Day is here, and Poptropica has more love-themed goodies for us!

There are three Valentine’s-themed prizes “hidden” on Home Island. I mean hidden loosely since they aren’t really hidden per seโ€”in fact, they’reย  kinda out in the open.

First, go to the roof of the “New You” shop, and grab the Cupid Bow and Arrow. With the bow, you’ll be able to shoot a heart-shaped arrow with a press of the space bar.

Next, run all the way to the left and jump up to the platform above. You can collect the Valentine’s Shades, a pair of heart-shaped, rose-tinted sunglasses.

Finally, run to the right where the rocket is located. Jump to the large “Blast-Off Arcade” sign and pick up a red heart which will give you the Crushing Power.

Unlike true love, this giveaway won’t last for eternity, so act fast and grab these prizes while you still can!

In other news, the oh snow wonderful minigame Snowpocalypse is back! You will find the game in an igloo on Home Island. Now you can continue showing villains who’s boss in an epic snowball fightโ€”the most renowned type of fight. Go out and crush themโ€”and we don’t mean the lovey kind.

That should be all of the news for today. We here at the Poptropica Help Blog wish everyone a Happy Valentine’s Day! Thank you for reading, and have a good day!

Sweet gifts with Kim-POP-pible and Fruity Pebbles

Hey again, Poptropicans! It’s Lucky Joker here with the sweet member gifts of February.

If you’re a member, you will receive these five festive items upon logging in: Valentino Outfit, Heartbreaker, Crushing Outfit, Sweet Heart, and Candy Storm. According to the Creators, these gifts “will never be released again,” so get yours while you can.

How lovely. Remember, if you buy a membership any time within the month, you will receive all five of these gifts!

In other news, there areย two adsย currently pestering Poptropica with four total prizes to be earned. Letโ€™s check them out!

The first one advertises the upcomingย Kim Possible Disney channelย movie, which premieres on the channel on February 15. To get the goods, all you have to do is watch the short video trailer. What youโ€™ll win includes a coolย grappling hookย (which functions similarly to the grappling bow tie in Spy Island) and quite possibly the strangest follower Iโ€™ve ever seen โ€” aย Rufusย follower.

The second one advertises Americaโ€™s fruitiest cereal, Fruity Pebbles; this ad is also just a video. After you watch the ad, youโ€™ll get a Cereal Guitar (I remember making one of these when I was little!) and a neat Robot helmet. Yabba Dabba Doo!

That about covers it for today! What do you think about this monthโ€™s member gifts? My favorite is definitely the candy storm power.ย After all,ย theyโ€™reย not going to be available in real life this yearโ€ฆ RIP.

Thanks for reading as always, and Iโ€™ll talk to in the next oneโ€ฆ pop on!

Poptropica House Tour: Spotted Thunder

This is a guest post written by Spotted Thunder (Percia Jackson), a Poptropica player in the community. In this post, sheโ€™ll be givingย aย tourย ofย herย player homeย onย Poptropicaย Worlds. Enjoy!ย

Is the camera working? Yes? Okay!

Hey guys, it’s Spotted Thunder, AKA Percia Jackson here, and welcome to my house! It may look tiny from the outside, but the truth is, inside it’s HUGE.

Anyway, once you enter from the front door, you will be welcomed by the elk antlers my friend sent me. Thatโ€™s my closet over there, and above that is this awesome Viking shield, just in case there is an attack.

(Man, I think I should have got a Greek shield, because my Poptropican was born on Greek Sea Odyssey Island.)

Okay, enough about the shield! To your right is an art corner, if youโ€™re feeling crafty, like me. I know there isnโ€™t much, but wellโ€”it’s what it is.

On the other side is my computer, which I use for coding on Scratch (my username there is Howlarmoon), playing games, or texting friends. There’s also my huge TV and my Nintendo Switch, where I can play “Letโ€™s Go Eevee” or any other one of my games, while sitting on the couch trying to catch a Pokemon.

This is my kitchen. Thereโ€™s plenty of food in the fridgeโ€”*snowy owls fly through the open window and hoot*โ€”don’t mind the owls, they’re just guests, and Iโ€™m not getting attacked! Anyway, I’ve got a good table here, and chairs. Also, see that door? It’s all storage.

To the left of the kitchen is my band stuff, AKA the stuff that didnโ€™t fit in the storage. What’s funny is I donโ€™t use most of it, but my brother doesโ€”speaking of him, where is he right now? Anyway, my bandโ€”The Elemental Guardiansโ€”only use the guitar, drum, keyboard, and microphone. The band has four members, including me!

Upstairs, you’ll find the bathroom. The floor is very slipperyโ€”it’s not my fault! How did this happen? Let me show you. *turns tap on* So let’s say I want a dragon made out of water! *turns water into the form of a dragon* TA-DA! Yeah, that’ my powerโ€”controlling water. *turns tap off*

And finallyโ€ฆ. my bedroom! As you can see, I have all four trophies, windows to keep the light in, this awesome poster of a rock star I like to listen to, a nice lamp for before-sleep reading, and a fan to keep myself coolโ€”it’s been like 36 degrees Celsius here lately.

*scratches head* Okay, I think I’ve done all of the rooms. Thanks for listening, guys!

Poptropica Stickers App, Uncategorized

Somebunny made some printable Pop valentines ๐Ÿ’•

Hello, Poptropicans โ€” it’s Lucky Joker here! Valentine’s Day is coming up on Thursday, and it looks like Poptropica has taken notice.

You can celebrate by printing out these 6 adorable Poptropica valentines. To print, right-click below to save the image to your computer, and then go to print the file.

They’re the perfect gift to give to your friends or that special someone on this lovely occasion.

Also, be sure to update your Poptropica Stickers app to see theย 6 new Valentine-themed stickers that have been added.

You can download the stickers app in the App Store of you don’t have it yet. (By the way, will the app ever be available for Android, Creators?)

I wonder if Poptropica’s got anything else planned for Valentine’s Day this year. They did however mention that there will be “new updates coming out for pets later this month.” (Though they never actually announced the arrival of pets on the Creators’ Blog…)

Thanks for reading as always, and I’ll talk to you in the next one.

Why is Poptropica Original still getting updates?

This is a guest post written by Oliver O., an 11-year-old Poptropica player in the community. In this post, heโ€™ll be exploring the question of why Poptropica Original is still getting updates, while Poptropica Worlds is not. Enjoy!

Hello, Iโ€™m a person who’s never written on this blog, but hopefully you like this post. (By the way, I live in Alaska. Yes, we accept US money, and no, we don’t live in igloos. But enough about me.)

Let’s talk about Poptropica. Specifically, what’s up with it these days?

As you may remember, the Creators decided to build Poptropica Worlds in favor of Poptropica Original. The last island on the original Pop was Monkey Wrench in early 2016, three years ago, and even that was more of a tutorial than a full-length island.

So I have a question: why is Poptropica Original still getting updates? Why do they still have member gifts? Why did they update Home Island?

Keep in mind that apparently they were focusing on Poptropica Worlds, and originally claimed they wouldnโ€™t be updating Poptropica Original any longer. As we know, that’s not the case.

I mean, donโ€™t get me wrong, I love the new changes. The pets? Absolutely adorable! I have all five and love the colorization feature, although I really agree with Lucky Jokerโ€”pet clothes really would be cool.

And the clubhouses are a whole different thing. THEY. ARE. AWESOME!! (Although… I donโ€™t understand why there are so few furniture items.)

But letโ€™s not slander that stuff. Letโ€™s talk about my question: why are there updates in the first place, when they said Worlds was the future?

My first guess: They meant no more islands. And although this is very sad for the original Pop, Poptropica Worlds did produce some new islands since Monkey Wrenchโ€”the latest one was Greek Sea Odyssey, released a year ago. Progress is very slow on this front, now more than ever.

Next thought on the list: Maybe they just forgot? I mean, itโ€™s not unusual to forget. Raise your hand if youโ€™ve ever forgotten something! *silence, no hands go up* Okay, maybe just me. Or maybe they didn’t forget, but liked their new plan (to update the original game) better.

So thatโ€™s what I think! Do you think different? Share your thoughts in the comments. This is a random person signing out. The end!

Hope you enjoyed thisย guest postย by Oliver O.! If you did, you may enjoy another guest post by a different writer exploring the question, “Can Poptropica Original stick around?”
