Sweet and sour, street and power

The Super Villain Island members gear pack is now available! Visit the Poptropica Store to pick up your free Night Hare costume (inverted/negative-colored Dr. Hare – this one’s limited edition), Sleeping Powder power (makes everyone fall asleep), and Evil Henchmen item (drops bunnies, crawfish, spiders, robotic mice). Awesome! Thanks, Muddy Axe.

There’s also an ad building for Monster High, so if you’re interested, check out the costumes and special prizes in the dorms of Venus (prize: Pollenator), Rochelle (Stone Gargoyle), and Robecca (Jetpack)! You might also see some other players around because it appears to be a sort of common room as well.

Some recent new sneak peeks on the Daily Pop suggest a possible city-themed island we may see in the future. Could it be related to this Creator sneak peek about the birth of an island? It even mentions the word smoothie, and one of these newer sneak peeks shows a building called Sluggy’s Smoothies. There’s also a Subway, matching both the island-process-planning sneak peek mentioned, and the Daily Pop.

Breakdown – Looks like a bad neighborhood.
In Outline – We only need the broad strokes when laying out scenes.
Cup of Joe – I like my coffee like I like my comedy: black.

On Roald Dahl Day, the Creators confirmed what we had been suspecting: an island themed after Charlie and the Chocolate Factory! Lots of Daily Pops have evidence for the idea, including this newer one depicting the infamous chocolate river Augustus Gloop fell into:

Deep and Dark – There’s nothing sweet about this dangerous place.

If you haven’t already, look for the blue balloon with a “5” on it in any common room (though Early Poptropica’s Soda Pop Shop is the easiest because of its smaller size) and pop it to get a bonus firework-shooting, limited edition epic birthday cake costume. There’s also a free color-changing balloon in the Store! Poptropica’s 5th birthday celebration lasts for the rest of September. Check out BT’s post for more pics!

The balloon should look like this:

In other news, don’t forget to join in the PHB’s 7 million hits celebration for your chance to win an account with a rare costume! It ends next Friday, September 21st. Click here for more information.

That concludes another mega post! Have a great weekend! 😀

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory Island

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory island confirmed!

‘Ello fellows, ready for some jolly good Poptropica news?

Just in time for September 13’s Roald Dahl Day, the Creators announced that they are working on an island based on everyone’s favorite childhood tale, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory – as predicted by our good mate Brave Tomato in previous posts here and there. Now that’s sure to have you gobsmacked.

In case you’re too daft to know, Roald Dahl was the chap who wrote classic stories such as James and the Giant PeachMatildaThe BFG, and of course, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Absolutely nuts! 😀

(And yes, Roald Dahl was British. Ace.)

Sweet Dreams and Horrid Nightmares

Okay… I don’t know where to start. The sweet dreams or the horrid nightmares? I’ll just start with the sweet dreams.

More Daily Pops have been appearing that could pertain to this plausible Charlie and the Chocolate Factory quest.

Nuts to That: Maybe you can help someone come out of their shell.
Time to Punch in: This place will set factory records.
(Brave Tomato: W for Wonka???)
Divine Invention: When this machine drops gum, its gum drops hard.
(Brave Tomato: The Inventing Room?)
Pay no Mind: It’s free to drop in.
Litterbugs: Who’d trash a nice sidewalk like this?
(Brave Tomato: Average commuters.)

Okay… the sweet dreams are up. Now, ladies and gentleman, I present to you the horrid nightmares.

Yesterday, the last of the returning villains have been announced. And as we had guessed, it was the Binary Bard who is returning.

Another Piece of the Puzzle: Did you think we would just go away quietly? In your dreams! We have big things planned, my friends. Big things. Binary translation: Evil never sleeps. ~ Binary Bard

Commenter Fearless Lobster has noticed that the link for this picture is Binary Bard_SVI.jpg. SVI could stand for Super Villain Island!

I can tell that he’s the last villain because he has the rust effect on the side of his poster, like Dr. Hare’s poster had when this madness began. Now, let’s view the whole puzzle.

Despicable. Truly despicable. 4 of Poptropica’s most popular villains involved in something together. In any other place, this combination is very strange, but in Poptropica, a bunny evil genius, a crafty art theif, a pirate captian, and a cyborg jester spells big trouble.

And speaking of big trouble… Shark Tooth Island residents… you are NOT going to like this…

Breaking News: Much more on this story as it develops.

What… the… heck….? I looked at Shark Tooth Island as it is right now. Its slight innocence is still there. The skies are still blue and there are still a lot of salesmen. And, of course, the Booga Shark statue is still in tact. My goodness, Shark Tooth Island, you are not going to like what’s gonna happen in the near future…

All the latest sneak peeks are mixed. Some are sweet dreams, while others are horrid nightmares. It seems that we will face the nightmare first…

Be prepared, Poptropicans, be prepared.

Daily Pops of Pure Imagination and Out-of-this-World Members Gold Cards

Come with me and you’ll be in a world of pure imagination

Take a look, and you’ll see into your imagination.

We’ll begin, with a spin, travelling in the world of my creation

What you’ll see will defy explanation

If you want to view paradise, simply look around and view it

Anything you want to, do it

Wanta change the world? There’s nothing to it.

Hey guys, BT here. Now you MIGHT be wondering…

“Why the heck did she include a song from a 1970’s movie in this post?”

Well, that 1970’s movie just turns out to be Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. In 2005, a remake directed by Tim Burton was seen by many. And maybe in 2012, Poptropica decided to revamp the story to make it an interactive experience?

Squirrely: We don’t imagine there’s a moose anywhere around here.
Fruity: The juice is loose!
Ramshackle: Life among the underclass.
Oh, Fudge: Who is this great big greedy nincompoop?

There could be more Daily Pops relating to this, but those were the ones that stood out to me as Wonka-related. And the most obvious ones, at that. I wonder if this island’s quest would have to do with rescuing the 4 kids that ended up in tight situations (I’m talking about Augustus, Violet, Veruca, and Mike). Besides, I don’t remember the part in either movie where Augustus is seen on a conveyor belt covered in strawberry-flavored chocolate coated fudge, because it wasn’t in the movie.

I could be right. I could be wrong. It’s a prediction, and we’ll have to see. In the meantime, we wait for Lunar Colony’s release for members and demo for non-members. And the members get to have those special gold cards.

The Alien Archaeology card leaves a pretty tall pillar scripted with a peculiar alien language. And by alien, I mean outer space alien. The moon rocks card creates random moon rocks scattering across your screen. And the costume is-well-a costume.

The release of these island-specific gold cards give us the hint that Lunar Colony will be available soon, but not exactly when. We’ll find out soon, won’t we?
