Hey Poptropicans! 🤗 Poptropica fan artist RainbowBrush (Tough Spinner) is back with a cool new project: a fan comic called The Mystery of the Forgotten Islands, and she’s just dropped a teaser with four full pages, along with the following synopsis. Read it below!
Poptropica is an online game that features an adventurer traveling the ocean, exploring many different islands, and helping the people on those islands with their problems. Poptropica once had a wide variety of different islands to explore ranging from traveling the Wild West, to becoming a secret agent, to solving mysteries on a train. Unfortunately in 2020, the game engine that ran Poptropica, Adobe Flash, shut down. The shutdown of Adobe Flash caused most of Poptropica’s islands to disappear.
This story takes place in the disarrayed state that Poptropica is in now. There are only a handful of islands that remain in the world. Tough Spinner, a long time adventurer, attempts to solve Poptropica’s biggest mystery. Whatever happened to the old islands of Poptropica?
The teaser is also available on Instagram and Reddit, with a promise for future updates to be posted on those platforms whenever they’re ready.

Welcome back, everypony! We at the Ponytropica Blog can’t wait to continue sharing the magic of friendship with you all! But first, we need to clarify something…
✨APRIL FOOLS!✨
Sorry, fillies and gentlecolts, but our pony-focused rebrand was a ruse from the beginning.
Magic Kid kicked off the shenanigans by announcing our little rebrand and hopes to bring in the much larger MLP fanbase. She even drew this adorable banner depicting the current PHB authors as ponies!
Later, I shared my picks for the Poptropican Elements of Harmony. Not gonna lie, this was actually an idea I had for a while. Whether or not you agree with my picks, it was a fun thought experiment as both a Poptropican and a pegasister.
The pony palooza even extended to our Discord server, the Poptropica Help Chat, which was renamed to the Ponytropica Help Chat. Some of you liked the blog’s bold new direction and played along. For example, Lone Flipper submitted this cute drawing of her pony-fied Poptropican to our #pop-art channel! And to top off the fun, I shared another post: Pop 5: Horses, featuring Poptropica’s most superior stallions. 🐎
The PHB will continue to be the top stop for all things Pop, but that won’t stop us from dipping our toes into other IPs. Feel free to combine your love for MLP (or some other media) with Poptropica any time of year. That’s the reason why our Pop-over series exists! 🎠

It’s no surprise that Poptropica has some ponies (and pony-like creatures) that call it home. Today, we’ll be counting down the five best horses in all of Poptropica! We’ll be looking at every variety of horse from the mundane to the mythical. Sound the bugle because it’s time to see which Poptropican pony will win this race to our hearts!
And they’re off!🏇
Starting our list in fifth place is the cryptid that terrified a generation! Some may argue that the Jersey Devil is more goat than horse, but we think its horsey face and build are enough for it to qualify for this list. In fact, we argue that it counts as a draconequus like our Chaos King, Discord! Nonetheless, the Jersey Devil’s bone-chilling design and stage presence gave us one of the most iconic and frightening moments in Poptropica history! 😱
Coming in fourth place, we have the purple pony paladin herself! Pony Girl presumably originates from the Pony Girls comic book series, in which she is a superhero with the power to animorph into a crime-fighting equine. This horse-powered hero is so good that she earned a spot in the Mighty Action Force! She may only be a horse half of the time, but the fact that she fights villains as one earns her a place on this list! She’s truly an Equestria Girl!💜
We have a tie for third place! These little ponies follow you, the player, throughout your travels. On one side, you have precious pet ponies that are super customizable. On the other, you have a flying blue baby alicorn. It’s hard to choose who’s the better bestie, so why not pick both? Since pets and followers can be active at the same time, embark on your next adventure with your earthbound equine and airborne alicorn at your side! 🐴
Our runner up in this race is the pegasus from Astro Knights Island‘s Jungle Planet! Although Mordred used this winged horse as a decoy, it becomes a noble steed that helps you take down the Mother Phoenix. An interesting thing I want to mention is that, despite being called a pegasus, this creature also has a horn, which technically makes it an alicorn. However, it lacks a horn in the Astro Knights book adaptation, therefore being a more traditional pegasus. Horn or no horn, this is a welcome ally on your interstellar quest! 🪽
Finishing our list in first place is Elmer from Wild West Island! Now, what’s a good cowboy without a trusty horse by his side? Your reward for taming this stallion is a loyal companion on your mission to stop El Mustachio Grande. You and Elmer travel to towns, deliver mail, pan for gold, herd cattle, uncover secret hideouts, and bring outlaws to justice! And Elmer did all of that without wings or magic powers! Let’s give the biggest “Yeehaw!” to Elmer, the best horse in all of Poptropica! 🤠
