Is your school one that doubts the educational merits of Poptropica? The Twitter-ers among us may have already seen this, but Poptropica recently tweeted a few infographics showing off the scholastic side of their game world in response to all the tweets about schools blocking the site.
If you want Poptropica un-blocked at your school, try showing these to someone in charge, and they might just change their mind. Poptropica may be game, but it’s also a world of learning opportunities! 😀
Some of Poptropica’s best stories involve historical figures, real life locations, art history, and more – all with that unique Poptropica twist that makes it engaging, clever, and still accurate.
And with all the branded books and interactive dialogue waiting to be discovered, it’s clear Poptropica encourages reading as well. Still in doubt? Check out the PHB’s Poptropica Game Review!
With all that being said, Poptropica should fit right into any school environment, especially for the target audience of 6- to 15-year-olds – and kids will pick up all sorts of culturally and academically relevant information while being immersed in top-notch storytelling. And that means…
What’s popping, Poptropicans? Blake here, with a little bit of Poptropica news for you. For starters, Arabian Nights: Episode 2 is now available to everyone.Non-members can now enter the thieves’ lair and try to locate the Sultan’s lamp! For a walkthrough, refer to our Arabian Nights Island Guide.
Meanwhile, PoptropiCon: Episode 2 (Spoiler Alert) is now available on Android! If you own an Android device, go download the update to play the Island! (iOS users will have to wait.)

Well, this pretty much settles it. Poptropica is going to have its own show.
This picture was tweeted from the official Poptropica Twitter with the caption “Poptropica script read????”. The picture above (which the PHB lightened a bit from the dimmer original for more contrast) shows a number of people with labels in front of them (character names from the Poptropica comic/upcoming graphic novel: Octavian, Oliver, Mya, Jorge).
Each person presumably has a script in front of them, and various polished pieces of art that look like something from the comic are hanging in the background throughout the picture. I researched a bit and found out that this seems to be a read-through –
The read-through, table-read, or table work is a stage of film, television and theatre production when an organized reading around a table of the screenplay or script by the actors with speaking parts is conducted. Read more
So wait… is Poptropica going to have a cartoon based on the Poptropica Comics?
One more thing that may tie it all in – remember my post a while back on the Poptropica animated short? The pitch made by a random studio for a Poptropica cartoon? Has it been in the works for over a year? Only time will tell. This is certainly exciting! Tell me in the comments what you think, and also tell me if you’ll be watching the Poptropica cartoon if it really is coming out!
If you haven’t already, go follow me on Twitter – I post Poptropica stuff, Minecraft stuff, dubstep stuff and more all the time!
Yeah, I know. I haven’t posted since November. Yell at me all you want.
Anyway, remember how the official Poptropica Twitter page teased us with something called Poptropica Realms? Well, the kindly Creators over on the official blog, fresh from their winter hiatus, have just officially announced this updated version of Land – starting with a video trailer:
Although not revealing much new, the trailer looks like it would hype willing players (even non-members!) to take the challenge to see what they can do.
Also, there is an official tour page for Realms, which hasn’t changed much from the Lands page besides the new title and video. This is intriguing – and although it’ll be open to everyone, members do get bonus benefits according to the official description:
Everyone can create and explore Poptropica Realms, but only Poptropica Members can unlock its true power! With Membership, create even more new Realms, and share your creations with the Poptropica Creators. You’ll also get exclusive props and decorations to make your Realms truly unique.
We know we’ll get to create new worlds and planets to share with people, but I wonder what other new things Realms will give to the table that Lands didn’t already…

The Creators have released yet another Galactic Hot Dogs sponsored quest video on their official YouTube account, this one for a new ad that’s on Main Streets.
Thanks to Slippery Raptor for the pics & insight into the ad –
The exterior of the advertisement shows the Neon Wiener with a smoking large hole behind it. When you enter, a short clip will play, showing the Neon Wiener blasting off into space.
Inside, you can talk to Humphree on your right and F.R.E.D on your left. Moving along, there are a couple of dummies (Cosmoe and Humphree for boys; Princess Dagger and Evil Queen Dagger for girls) you can Costumize from. To your right, Princess Dagger and Cosmoe are guarding the Mega Dog. By clicking on the door to the right, you’ll shoot lasers with two Jacks, Cosmoe, and Princess Dagger.
Isn’t GHD Island supposed to come out some time this month? Hmm…

In other news, the first Arabian Nights episode, How Bazaar (“and robbed from afar!” Okay, I need to stop lyrical connections…) is now available for FREE on iOS devices!
(For Android users, “How Bazaar” has already been released.)

One more thing before I go – according to Poptropica’s tweet, this is “Early concept pencil art. For something. Something February-ish.”
Could it be the cover for the Poptropica comic graphic novel? Is that guy in the blimp… cutting the rope from the protagonists? Uh-oh…
Anyway, 2015 has only just begun, but already there’s Poptropica news to talk about. After a year of episodic islands, it looks like Poptropica will be reverting back to stand-alone full islands after wrapping up PoptropiCon and Arabian Nights around March! (thanks to Samwow5 for the pic)
Meanwhile, members can look forward to Episode 3 of Arabian Nights (title yet to be determined) around Feb 26th. That is, if Zeus here can still be trusted. 😉
@toughicicle Arabrian# around Feb 26. And your other question, sure!
And lastly, perhaps as a follow-up to her totally snazzy PHB tribute, Poptropica Creator Dr. Lange also drew a little something for the team at Poptropican Awesomeness, where two of our PHB authors (Blake & Slippery Raptor) also blog. Check it out:
Anyway, that’s all for now! Poptropica’s had a great 2014, which you can read all about in Slippery’s 2014 rewind post here. Hope everyone’s having a wonderful new year so far! 😀
