Hey Poptropicans! Slanted Fish here, bringing you the latest batch of fascinating takes on Poptropica from various YouTubers. Let’s watch! 📹
First up, in a heartwarming, nostalgic thank-you video letter addressed to the Pop Creators, bchili pays tribute to the legacy of Poptropica and all the fun times it brought to her childhood and those of our generation. She talks about how the game stands out for the stories it tells and reminisces about various moments in the game. Thanks for the throwbacks, bchili!
Next, we have a Poptropica review from a first-time adult player, Billiam. (The Poptropica part starts about 40 seconds into the video, and you may also want to jump to the 2:58 mark to skip the ad.) His verdict for the game: surprisingly fun (though the platforming struggles are real!). Discovering clues to advance in island missions drives the player’s interest, he explains, and it’s this storytelling aspect that makes Pop stand out from other Flash games.
And finally, here’s a comically strange short clip from Jaynautic, a 16-year-old who got dolled up like Dr. Hare. While wandering around a suburban neighborhood looking for carrots to steal, he finds one in particular that looks decidedly not like a carrot… see for yourself!

Hello, everyone! Gentle Dolphin here with a delicious helping of Poptropica news! Let’s begin today’s story with a warm appetizer before we get to the main course, which is strangely frozen. Hmm…
On the Creators’ Blog, there is a post reminding players that the November member gifts are here! Members will definitely be thankful for this month’s gifts, which certainly fit the Thanksgiving theme: a wearable Turkey Head, a rideable Turkey Rider, and a fireable Gravy Blaster!
If you’re an active member, these items will be automatically added to your inventory upon logging into Poptropica this month. If you’re not a member, do not fear. The post also mentions that a shop update will be coming very soon, so keep an eye out for that!
Now that we have finished our Thanksgiving appetizer, it’s time to move on to the main dish. A lot of us expected Poptropica to make promotions for “Frozen 2”. What we didn’t expect, however, is how much they would end up promoting it. Strap yourselves in, folks! It’s going to be a long ride!
Let’s start things simple with a basic island ad. While you are visiting various islands, you’ll come across a Frozen 2 ad block. Watch the short trailer to get your very own Olaf Follower! Now you can explore all of Poptropica with everyone’s favorite talking snowman (just don’t go somewhere too hot, though).
After your adventures with Olaf, you may be in the mood to decorate your clubhouse. Although there are no new furniture items in the store, you will find seven new posters in your clubhouse inventory (six for “Frozen 2”, and one for “Polly Pocket”)! Here is what they look like on the club wall:
As if prizes and posters weren’t enough, the Poptropica team went above and beyond with what is possibly their biggest in-game advertisement this year. Frozen fever must have spread to the cosmos, because the Blast-Off Arcade has been given a “Frozen 2” makeover!
Instead of flying to an intergalactic planet, you will now wander into a scenic autumn forest. You can climb the trees and bounce on leaves as a majestic orchestra plays in the background. Here’s a look at the updated common room in its entirety. Pretty cool, eh?
It’s clear that Poptropica is going all out to promote “Frozen 2”. At this rate, they may as well dedicate an entire island to the film! Anyway, what do you think of this month’s member gifts? Do you plan on seeing “Frozen 2” in theaters, and how do you feel about all of these advertisements for it? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
Hey Poptropicans! Slanted Fish here, bringing you all-new Poptropica digital wallpapers worth screaming about. (Okay, maybe not literally screaming. But certainly something to warrant a blog post!)
Supposedly, if you visited Poptropica.com on Halloween night, you would have seen something different. A spooky Halloween wallpaper greeted you on the homepage, filled with fearful trick-or-treaters with a backdrop showing a sinister cast of werewolf, vampire, and ghost, all eyes aglow.
2560 x 1440
While I didn’t catch this sight myself, a post from Instagram user 0ne_izzsix shows that it did make it to the front page. What’s more, the Creators have kindly shared the image with us on the official blog, even formatting it for multiple computer and phone screen sizes for wallpapering purposes.
You can also click the following links to open up and download the image in whichever size fits your device screen:
Pretty cool treat for Halloween! It’s been a while since they’ve done something like this, but the Creators have been known to create some sweet Poptropica digital wallpaper downloads in the past. Seems like this was a team effort, as the Creators’ blog post mentions “one of the artists who worked on it.”
But now that it’s November, the spooky screen is gone—and has been replaced by another new screen!
Anyone hopping onto the site will now be faced with a different illustrated foe: the five-headed Hydra from Mythology Island. A warrior can be seen flying in from the skies on a winged horse, sword ready to chop off some heads. However, the Creators haven’t made this art available for download (yet).
Anyway, it’s cool to see Poptropica changing things up a little on the main page. Here on the PHB, we celebrated Halloween by announcing the winners of our Halloween Costume Contest Eleven along with a showcase of delightful runner-ups and even a collection of PHB staffers’ costumes.
And we followed that up with a new batch of Community Creations, sharing Poptropica fan artists’ takes on the popular “Inktober” art prompts. There’s been some ink-credible work as always, and we’re already looking forward to the next round of fan art with our current theme: Steampunk.
Hello once again everyone! Spotted Dragon here bringing you the October recap for Community Creations! October’s theme was Inktober and the featured work is not in any particular order. Be sure to check out all the featured artists!
Cute drawing for the prompt! Poptropica items and side characters and such don’t often receive the spotlight that they deserve, so I think that focusing in on this freezing power was a great idea. I love the perspective of having one character in the foreground and the other in the background, despite the fairly simple scene. Plus, the addition of the foreground character’s shivers, shocked eyes, and newly formed icicles are an excellent touch. Fantastic sketch! Find her DeviantArt here.
Injured by Meganf123456
Ooh, a dark scene! I like that this submission really contrasts our first one, showing the diverse drawings that can grow out of Inktober. This scene is dark and dramatic, perfectly fitting the “injured” prompt. Movement and emotion are particularly shown well! The glimpse we are given into the story makes me certainly want to know more about what is going on, which is always a treat (or trick?) for the viewer. Well done! Find her DeviantArt here.
Pumpkin Field by iLee-Font
Aw, cute! Though this piece doesn’t strictly follow the “official Inktober prompt list,” I think this doodle is perfectly appropriate nonetheless. The pumpkin patch setting matches the aesthetic of the spooky season very well, and is made interesting with the limited use of color. I’ve fallen in love with this artist’s sketchy style! Though messy, the posing, composition, emotion, and details of their drawings are excellent to say the least. Find their DeviantArt here.
Ring by happyclonetrooper
Ooh! Perhaps not a spooky submission, but fitting for Inktober nonetheless. I love how perfectly “Maroon Ring” matches the “ring” prompt. What are the odds? I think the artist’s style of Poptropicans is super neat, and I’m glad to see them branch out their use of mediums by utilizing colored pencil in this particular drawing. Even adding something as simple as a, well, ring, behind the figure adds great interest to the simple design. Great work! Find her DeviantArt here.
Happy Halloween! by MissEligon
Ahh, this is such a fun design! Certainly a stretch from our Inktober theme, but totally fitting for Halloween, so why not? The color scheme is super spooky, and the detail put into each character is superb. Every Poptropican has such a unique outfit, matching a unique expression and pose. Despite the undead vibes, each figure is so lively! The craftsmanship and composition is breathtaking. Stunning work! Find her DeviantArt here.

November: How Do I Participate?
Community Creations is a cool series for anyone in the Poptropica community to join in on. To sum up what it’s about, it’s basically a chance to show off your artwork, creepy fan-fics, Pop clubhouses, costumes, and anything else that pops into your mind.
If we really like the piece you submit, we will feature it here on the PHB! As long as it relates to that month’s theme. So what is November’s theme? November’s theme is…
Steampunk!
Now when I say steampunk, I don’t just mean the island. I mean the whole aesthetic! Most of us are in the midst of fall, and I think that this rustic, “machines intertwined with nature” theme can match some of those spooky, serene autumn vibes. That being said, basing your creations off of Steamworks Island itself is perfect!
The options are up to your imagination! Maybe put together a costume fit for a steampunk scientist? Or perhaps draw your favorite steampunk plant monsters! Even write a story focusing on the adventures of Sprocket. I can’t wait to see what you come up with!
Comment below with a link to whatever you’ve created OR share it with me (SydVC aka Spotted Dragon) on DeviantArt, Twitter, or Discord.
Results: I will feature 5 of the submissions as well as 3 honorable mentions.
Limitations: Nothing NSFW, and make sure you relate to the theme.
Due Date: I will take any entries before the end of this month. Submit as many things as you’d like!
I will always be sure to let you know I have seen your creation. Bonus points if you make a compelling description for your piece! While quality counts, I’m mainly looking for something to simply catch my eye, so don’t be afraid to join in!
So what are you waiting for? Go make something awesome!
…about to be announced in just a bit. Halloween is here, which means it’s time for us to show off the most bone-chilling costumes of the season! You ready?
This year for our annual Halloween costume contest, we hosted two categories: Heavenly & Hellish. We’ve combed our way through all your crazy cool costumes, and for each category, we’ve picked our top three and selected a grand prize winner for each. So without further ado, we now present:
✨ Heavenly ✨
With this being year eleven, we thought we’d turn our eyes to the heavens. And so this category called for a different kind of creativity from years past, by focusing on the cute, charming, and classy styles of costuming. Among those who took on the challenge, we landed on the following trio as our top picks, with Jean of Pop’s “Heavenly Healer” (pictured center) taking the prize.
“Butterfly Goddess” by Moody Beetle
“Heavenly Healer” by Jean of Pop
“Paper Roman” by MM
🔥 Hellish 🔥
Of course, we couldn’t get away from the truly scary stuff either… which brings us to our other category. Inspired by all things devilish, deviant, and depraved, we bring to you our top picks from the depths of a hellish world (in an embellished sense). Among them, we crown Quick Fang’s “Red-eyed Zombie Monster Carnie” (pictured center) as the spookiest of all.
