Daily Pop, Daily Pop Sneak Peeks

Daily Pop Peeks: camels and canines and bears, oh my!

Hey Poptropicans! The month of April brought along some noteworthy sneak peeks over on the Daily Pop, some of which we’ll take a look at here. For the complete collection of pictures and captions, check out our sneak peek archive page, updated monthly!

First up, we’ve been seeing a few more peeks for the upcoming Mystery of the Map Island. (For even more, check out some of last month’s peeks, and of course the archive itself as well.)

Meanwhile, development for Arabian Nights: Ep. 3 is still in motion, and a look at the official Tour page now reveals the title (“Careful What You Wish For”) and description for the final episode:

The genie is out of the bottle, and now everyone wants a chance to make their wishes come true. But whether you’re a greedy merchant, a lovelorn palace guard, or a Sultan with a long-buried secret, heed this advice: be careful what you wish for!

Hmm… and what’s up with that overly-friendly camel?

And finally, here are some other miscellaneous sneak peeks from the past month. Could all these animals be linked to something? We do know the K9 dogs were just some test ideas the Creators sketched out (more on that in SD’s post below), and perhaps the description of the home picture is alluding to the previously-confirmed Timmy Failure Island.

Anyway, let us know in the comments what you think of these sneak peeks, and be sure to check out all the rest over on our DP archive page. Stay popping, Poptropicans. 😀

P-Con Ep. 3 for all April 16th, Popstorms, & Working on the Wiki!

Hey Poptropicans! First of all, a reminder that PoptropiCon Ep. 3: Reign of Omegon releases to everyone this coming Thursday, April 16th. This final episode had quite some celebration here last week as the subject of our April Fool’s prank. Plus, check out our Behind-the-Scenes post for some sneak peeks, or Sam’s review for an overview!

There hasn’t been a whole lot of other official news besides Mystery of the Map pages, of which you can read the entire collection thus far on our Comics page. And, if you’ve been keeping up on our Twitter timeline (via the sidebar or by following us on Twitter), you may have seen a few new Popstorms, which are posted from Master Mime’s Pinterest.

Anyway, with the current blogging stalemate, the big thing in the Poptropica community right now is the ongoing community project we’ve mentioned here a few times already as being a new-ish partner site of the Poptropica Help Network, the Poptropica Wiki.

PoptropicaWikiLogoAnyone and everyone is welcome to create a Wikia account and get editing – writing up information, inserting pictures, and more. (Protip: If the ads bother you, just get AdBlock for your browser.)

So, how can you help?

We’re looking to create informative pages for each and every character, itemisland (and to a lesser extent, scene – an area of an island). You can find a page simply by using the search bar at the top of the wiki, and if the page does not exist, you can create it!

From there, you can add in information that you think would be relevant and informative (including pictures), or perhaps fix up bad grammar if you spot any. Wiki editing comes with its own markup (notation you can use to produce various effects like bolding or linking to another page) – here’s a quick guide to a few basics that may help.

The Poptropica Wiki currently has 700+ articles, and we invite the community to join us in creating more. Have fun editing, and see you on the wiki! 🙂

GoRealms code, Poptropica on Pinterest, & PopStorm 18

Hey guys! Quick post to announce that Poptropica Realms recently got a big upgrade of features, which we’ll be getting into soon here on the PHB. For now, you can enter the promo code GOREALMS to get your own free Realms Builder costume!

GOREALMS

Also, the Poptropica Creators officially have their own Pinterest board.

Instead of Zeus being the face of their account, Master Mime (also known as Jon Pitcher, as you can see on our Creator Database page) is the star. You can view and follow it here, but unlike their other social media sites, they’re more focused on re-pinning random Poptropica things from others. (Update: They’ve started posting some of their own fun stuff, like this St. Patrick’s Day promo!)

Of course Jon Pitcher also has his own Pinterest account, which has a board that features all of the Creators’ PopStorms!

Speaking of PopStorms, number 18 has been released! This one, entitled Classes of Glasses, depicts many Poptropicans with glasses that match their own style. 😛

Last but not least, Poptropica says they’re hoping to get their mobile app out to Kindle Fires by June 1. Great news for all the Kindlers out there!

Anyway, have a great weekend and be sure to check out other recent PHB posts for the latest happenings in the Poptropica community! 😀

Reign of Curls, Comics, Tweets and Zomberries!

Hello Poptropicans! Slippery here.

First of all, Poptropica has announced over Twitter that the concluding episode of PoptropiCon—Ep. 3: Reign of Omegon—will be released on March 19th for members and on April 9th for all. Just keep in mind that these dates are only tentative and may change. If you want more news about the final episode, check out the island page here on the PHB.

PopCon3-ScreensaverNext, Poptropica tweeted Popstorm #17! It’s all about curly hairs. Pretty awesome.

PopStorm 17Poptropica has also uploaded weeks 29 to 32 of the Poptropica Comics series (not to be confused with Mystery of the Map, which you can read in its entirety on the PHB’s Comics page!) and you can check them out on Funbrain! Oliver and Jorge will continue their adventures with the Veggiestein and the characters from the Wizard of Oz. Thanks to Fairy Tale for the tip!

popcomics2932Also, Poptropica revealed their plans for the app for this year. It includes multiplayer games, common rooms, and more items on the store.  And in case you haven’t heard yet, we can use our own accounts by the end of the year! Sounds exciting for me. Check out these tweets:

They also tweeted a couple of interesting Realms:

Last but not the least, Poptropica uploaded a brand new video and it features the Zomberries from Zomberry Island. They also tweeted that Poptropica Realms will receive an update with Zomberries in it! Hmm, very puzzling. Anyway, enjoy the video of these zomberries grooving on the funky beat of DJ Saturday Nite at the karaoke bar! Very funny.

That’s all of the updates! Hope y’all had fun. Any thoughts? 🙂

MotM video, p. 14-16, questions answered, & more

Hey guys! Lots of popping news to be shared today. Mystery of the Map pages 14-16 have been released, but first, a video. It is a trailer for the entire volume of MotM.

Pretty simple, but still cool. Okay, now time for the latest pages (click to enlarge):

While still on the topic of Mystery of the Map, Brave Tomato helped us learn a really cool fact about the series: of the two siblings, Mya is older than Oliver!

Hmm, I never thought about who was older. Great question BT! 🙂

Here are some more Q&A’s between curious Poptropicans and Poptropica itself have given us some insight on a few things regarding the Poptropica origin story and app:

  • In addition to the comics and graphic novel we’ve seen so far, Poptropica’s origin story will also be told via animation. (see tweet)
  • Mya is not in the comics because they “provide little room in which to work”. (see tweet)
  • Poptropica is working on an app for the Amazon Kindle, and hoping to release it 3 months from now. (see tweet)
  • A Windows Store app for Poptropica is not on the development plan, but they’re watching closely for an opportunity. (see tweet)

Also, PopStorm #16 is now out. This one depicts a Poptropican style bug battle. Hehe, cute. 😛

Moving on, Poptropica has featured a lot of amazing Realms creations this week on Twitter, from Frozen re-constructions to unique tree designs. Great work, Poptropicans! 😀

That’s all for now!
