Don’t H8 M8, R8 8/8 for Poptropica’s 8th birthd8

Heyyo Poptropicans, it’s Ultim8 iPad Expert here with some news on Poptropica’s 8th birthday! The Creators took to their blog to explain a little about what’s happening for this year’s celebration. For those who don’t know, Poptropica’s birthday is in September – the whole month counts, because no one seems to know the specific date. 😛

Anyway, it seems we’ll be getting more giveaways, which could mean some really epic prizes. They also mentioned games, which I’m not sure about really. Does this mean some sort of birthday mini-game or something? Who knows? Looks like the fun starts next week on September 15th:

I’m excited to see what Poptropica does for this year’s birthday suit, if there’s to be one, and so are fellow PHB authors Slip and HP. Check out this fan idea from Slip, plus HP’s remade version:

So that’s all for the 8th birthday so far, but I wanted to give a little update from the Poptropica (Help) Wiki. If you’ve visited there recently, you may have noticed our new logo:

That’s not all – we’ve also been working on a spiffy redesign for the entire website! Just a reminder that we recently relocated from Wikia to host the wiki on Gamepedia – head over there to check out the new layout and help with editing pages!

The design is still under development, but figured I’d show it off to you guys since I think it’s pretty awesome. Big thanks to anddrewwiles (aka HPuterpop) and Ylimegirl for helping to make the new design a reality.

So, are you excited about Poptropica’s 8th birthday? What do you think of the new Poptropica Wiki design? Comment below.

Fanon, Fanon Everywhere

Heyyo Poptropicans, it’s Ultimate iPad Expert here. It’s time to announce some more news!

I’m sure you all know of the Poptropica Wiki and you’ve probably also heard of the Popcorn fan magazine. Well, now we have the best of both worlds in the new Poptropica Fanon Wiki!

Poptropica Fanon Wiki Logo

With the Poptropica Wiki you can learn and help teach others about Poptropica facts, but with the Poptropica Fanon Wiki you get to create your own islands, your own characters, and any more fanon – and share them with everyone to read. You can also check out other people’s ideas and show off your fan art, stories, etc. with everyone.

Along with the new Fanon Wiki, we’d also suggest you check out the We-Love-Poptropica DeviantArt page. Feel free to submit any sort of Poptropica fan art there, and send me a note with a link to it if you’d like it in an upcoming Popcorn fan magazine issue!

Let’s finish this post off with this awesome new logo from HP for the Poptropica Help Chat:

Popstorms, PoptropiCon Island, Wiki

P-Con Ep. 3 for all April 16th, Popstorms, & Working on the Wiki!

Hey Poptropicans! First of all, a reminder that PoptropiCon Ep. 3: Reign of Omegon releases to everyone this coming Thursday, April 16th. This final episode had quite some celebration here last week as the subject of our April Fool’s prank. Plus, check out our Behind-the-Scenes post for some sneak peeks, or Sam’s review for an overview!

There hasn’t been a whole lot of other official news besides Mystery of the Map pages, of which you can read the entire collection thus far on our Comics page. And, if you’ve been keeping up on our Twitter timeline (via the sidebar or by following us on Twitter), you may have seen a few new Popstorms, which are posted from Master Mime’s Pinterest.

Anyway, with the current blogging stalemate, the big thing in the Poptropica community right now is the ongoing community project we’ve mentioned here a few times already as being a new-ish partner site of the Poptropica Help Network, the Poptropica Wiki.

PoptropicaWikiLogoAnyone and everyone is welcome to create a Wikia account and get editing – writing up information, inserting pictures, and more. (Protip: If the ads bother you, just get AdBlock for your browser.)

So, how can you help?

We’re looking to create informative pages for each and every character, itemisland (and to a lesser extent, scene – an area of an island). You can find a page simply by using the search bar at the top of the wiki, and if the page does not exist, you can create it!

From there, you can add in information that you think would be relevant and informative (including pictures), or perhaps fix up bad grammar if you spot any. Wiki editing comes with its own markup (notation you can use to produce various effects like bolding or linking to another page) – here’s a quick guide to a few basics that may help.

The Poptropica Wiki currently has 700+ articles, and we invite the community to join us in creating more. Have fun editing, and see you on the wiki! 🙂

Poptropica Help Network: it’s back!

Hi Gs,

A couple weeks ago, I announced a big project – the Poptropica Help Wiki. A few days later, I got an email from the chairman of the Poptropica Wiki, AwesomeOrange89, suggesting a business and community opportunity. It’s safe to say that we are now officially in a network with the Poptropica Wiki, along with the PHC, and my video walkthroughs. The site for the network will be up soon.

poptropicahelpnetworkoverFor some of you oldies, you may remember the original Poptropica Help Network. We had a forum (which the wiki will now provide) the PHC, and the PHB.

So wait, we’re merging with the Poptropica Wiki? Yes, the first ever Poptropica fan site is now on our side, with hundreds of articles written about Poptropica and a great community of avid Poptropica lovers. I’m now the executive manager on the wiki; I’ve been cleaning it up since I got the privilege, and you may notice the tidy new theme and homepage. If you wanna know how to contribute please read this post I made on the blog over there.

We need your help! Let’s get these two sites in sync; please head over to the wiki and contribute!

I hope you guys are excited as I am for this amazing opportunity in the Poptropica community – the PHN will be the ultimate Poptropica fan network!

Announcing the Poptropica Help Wiki!

Hi Gs,

This announcement is big. I’ve been working on this enormous undertaking for a while now, and I’ve finally decided to announce it. Only a few people have known in the past, but now, you get to contribute.

We have the Poptropica Help Blog… We have the Poptropica Help Chat…We have the Poptropica Help Videos, tweets, and Steam group… And today, I come to bring you…

Poptropica Help Wiki

What is the Poptropica Help Wiki, you might ask? It’s basically the ultimate documentation of Poptropica info compiled and maintained by Poptropica players. Eventually we’ll fill up the site with character, island, and item pages. Those pages will have tons of facts and storylines stuffed inside them.

And guess what? You can contribute! This is a community run project, so it’s your job to help out with the content!

We want this wiki to be the best it can be, so please refrain from spam and irrelevant comments.

I’m going to be setting goals for the wiki, so for now, let’s continue making and finishing Character pages (those that would go in the Characters category). You can make other pages, but as a community I feel like we should do this orderly and in portions. At the moment, we have no guidelines, but please don’t plagiarize the site. If you need an idea of what a Character page should look like, take a look at this skeleton.

The URL is easy to remember –

Also, If anyone is advanced at Wikia code and wants to contribute, please contact me at [email protected].
