Wonderful Valentine’s Vêtements!

How ya doin, Poptropicans? It’s Lucky Joker here, and today I bring you the latest cards and costumes added to the Poptropica store for February, and more! Let’s pop into it!

Unlike last month’s new items, most of this month’s new, Valentine-themed stock is available to all players — not just for members. Please note, this is not a full a store update, so the previous stock is still here. The new additions to the store are:

Gold Cards

Garlic Breath
Love Potion (members only)
Bouquet of Roses
Heart Balloon
Cupid Follower (members only)
Box of Chocolates (members only)

Costumes

Little Demon (Boys)
Little Demon (Girls)
Big Hearted

Also, Poptropica is giving members a new benefit. If you’re a member, you can count on getting double the amount of credits on the Wheel of Loot from now on.

I find this update a bit odd and useless since, as a member, the amount of credits I have doesn’t affect my gameplay whatsoever. Everything in the store is free for me, so… can I like, donate credits to friends? (New idea Poptropica, get on it 😉 )

And finally, a new ad for Paramount Picture’s upcoming movie, Wonder Park, has surfaced and can be accessed via the island map. Just enter and click on June to start up the game.

It’s a simple click and dodge kind of game — we’ve seen it before. All you have to do is click your mouse to jump and dodge the “chimpanzombies” and other obstacles in your track. (Tip: continuously click your mouse as you would if you were playing Boulder Push on Reality TV Island to stay atop the entire time.)

Simple, right? Once you finish the game, you’ll win a Boomer Follower and a cool Roller Coaster Cart!

Sweet gifts with Kim-POP-pible and Fruity Pebbles

Hey again, Poptropicans! It’s Lucky Joker here with the sweet member gifts of February.

If you’re a member, you will receive these five festive items upon logging in: Valentino Outfit, Heartbreaker, Crushing Outfit, Sweet Heart, and Candy Storm. According to the Creators, these gifts “will never be released again,” so get yours while you can.

How lovely. Remember, if you buy a membership any time within the month, you will receive all five of these gifts!

In other news, there are two ads currently pestering Poptropica with four total prizes to be earned. Let’s check them out!

The first one advertises the upcoming Kim Possible Disney channel movie, which premieres on the channel on February 15. To get the goods, all you have to do is watch the short video trailer. What you’ll win includes a cool grappling hook (which functions similarly to the grappling bow tie in Spy Island) and quite possibly the strangest follower I’ve ever seen — a Rufus follower.

The second one advertises America’s fruitiest cereal, Fruity Pebbles; this ad is also just a video. After you watch the ad, you’ll get a Cereal Guitar (I remember making one of these when I was little!) and a neat Robot helmet. Yabba Dabba Doo!

That about covers it for today! What do you think about this month’s member gifts? My favorite is definitely the candy storm power. After all, they’re not going to be available in real life this year… RIP.

Why is Poptropica Original still getting updates?

This is a guest post written by Oliver O., an 11-year-old Poptropica player in the community. In this post, he’ll be exploring the question of why Poptropica Original is still getting updates, while Poptropica Worlds is not. Enjoy!

Hello, I’m a person who’s never written on this blog, but hopefully you like this post. (By the way, I live in Alaska. Yes, we accept US money, and no, we don’t live in igloos. But enough about me.)

Let’s talk about Poptropica. Specifically, what’s up with it these days?

As you may remember, the Creators decided to build Poptropica Worlds in favor of Poptropica Original. The last island on the original Pop was Monkey Wrench in early 2016, three years ago, and even that was more of a tutorial than a full-length island.

So I have a question: why is Poptropica Original still getting updates? Why do they still have member gifts? Why did they update Home Island?

Keep in mind that apparently they were focusing on Poptropica Worlds, and originally claimed they wouldn’t be updating Poptropica Original any longer. As we know, that’s not the case.

I mean, don’t get me wrong, I love the new changes. The pets? Absolutely adorable! I have all five and love the colorization feature, although I really agree with Lucky Joker—pet clothes really would be cool.

And the clubhouses are a whole different thing. THEY. ARE. AWESOME!! (Although… I don’t understand why there are so few furniture items.)

But let’s not slander that stuff. Let’s talk about my question: why are there updates in the first place, when they said Worlds was the future?

My first guess: They meant no more islands. And although this is very sad for the original Pop, Poptropica Worlds did produce some new islands since Monkey Wrench—the latest one was Greek Sea Odyssey, released a year ago. Progress is very slow on this front, now more than ever.

Next thought on the list: Maybe they just forgot? I mean, it’s not unusual to forget. Raise your hand if you’ve ever forgotten something! *silence, no hands go up* Okay, maybe just me. Or maybe they didn’t forget, but liked their new plan (to update the original game) better.

The poppin’ pets have arrived!

What’s up, Poptropicans? Oh, that’s right — the Pet Barn is finally open! Looks like the Poptropica Creators really stuck to their promise. 😀

As previous sneak peeks have told us, there are five pets available. These include a puppy, a kitten, a bunny, a lizard, and a goat — the last three being members only.

Disappointingly, there isn’t much else to do in the pet barn other than adopting a pet and using the pet colorizer to change its color (which is available to everyone!). It is really cute though.

Here are my two pets — Clover the bunny and Ivy the lizard!

Well, that about covers this update. I really like the idea of pets… I’m just hoping we get more customization options in the near future; clothing options would be particularly great, Creators. 😉 Also, additional features for the pets would be cool because right now they’re essentially just followers. The Gifts That Would Be For Members Only

What’s up, Poptropicans? It’s Lucky Joker here with this month’s wintery member gifts and an advertisement.

If you’re currently a member, you’ll receive three winter styles upon logging in. Boys will receive outfits called Frosty, Ice, and Cool, and girls will receive outfits called Meow, Toasty, and Snugly.

Remember, if you purchase a membership any time within January, you’ll obtain all the member’s gifts (corresponding to your character’s gender).

Also, an ad for the upcoming movie, The Kid Who Would Be King (which premieres on January 25), can be found on various islands. Home Island or 24 Carrot would be your best bet.

There’s no game this time, but there are prizes. To get them, all you have to do is watch the short video trailer.
