How’s it going, Poptropicans? It’s Lucky Joker here!
Remember those sneak peeks we got back in July… you know, the Home Island makeover ones? If you don’t, let me refresh your memory—Poptropica posted two sketches of what appeared to be a new Home Island design on the Creators’ Blog, and later on—a more finalized version. Here they are below:
Well, it doesn’t end there! This weekend Poptropica took to Instagram to show yet another Home Island sneak peek!
In the screenshot, we see a colorful rocket ship with a small door underneath covered in tape with the words ‘coming soon’. Can you imagine if this rocket becomes our new source of transportation instead of the iconic blimp?
To the left, we also see a small building with the same tape on it. Up top, there’s a sign that says ‘fun’ with an arrow pointing up. I wonder what could be so fun up there…maybe a new mini game? What do you guys think?
In other news regarding Home Island, the daily spin wheel that is usually inside the movie theater is no longer there.
According to idk, a glitcher who frequents the PHC, Poptropica is planning to move the wheel to a different spot, which is why it’s not available at this time. What’s going on, creators?
I also wanted to share one last thing with you guys. Over on Twitter, Jessica (formerly known as Skinny Moon in the Pop community, whom we miss dearly!) shared this cool illustration of Oliver flossing drawn by her 8-year-old nephew Brody S., who’s a new fan of Poptropica! How cute is that?
How’s it going, spooktropicans? It’s Lucky Joker here with a couple of updates to share with you all today!
First off, a new membership benefit has been implemented into the game. Now, members who win items from advertisement games will be able to keep the prizes after the ad disappears!
Not a huge deal, but still pretty cool nonetheless. I find many of the prizes from the ad games quite amusing. 😛
If you’re not a member, though, don’t worry — the creators say that they’re working on some new stuff for all players expected to launch this year! We’ll see if that happens…
In the meantime, we also have the largest ASG collection you can take advantage of to deck your character in retired ad costumes and lots more!
In other news… with Halloween approaching, it’s the perfect time to create a photo with all the new fun options that have recently been added to the Photo Booth! Check out the few that I made:
*Some text shown here is not available in the Photo Booth
And there’s plenty more props and characters where those came from… I guess you’ll have to try it out for yourself. 😉
One more thing: If you’re feeling especially artistic in this spooky season, be sure to participate in this month’s Community Creations. The theme for October is Villains!
That’s all for now, and I’ll talk to you all soon…pop on!
Remember Slanted Fish’s House Tour? Well, I’m here to continue the series and give you guys a look into my Poptropica Worlds house! While the other PHB authors frantically do some spring cleaning to make their rooms presentable, we encourage all readers to join in as well. Send in a guest post to feature your house on the PHB!
Anyway, make yourself feel at home! I don’t have membership to make the place real fancy, but I do have some pretty cool decor if I do say so myself.
The first thing you’ll see when walking in is certainly the chandelier over the front door. Gotta have something a bit fancy, right? Anyway, keep walking and you’ll find the main living area, where my friends and I most commonly hang out. This is where I keep my drum kit and arcade machine (complete with a stool for spending hours on a high score), despite my lack of skill in both areas. There’s also some wall art (to make the place more spiffy), my closet (near the front door since I’m lazy when it comes to quick outfit changes), and a soccer ball (for any quick games).
On the other end of the first floor, we have the kitchen for all my snacking needs. You got a fridge, table, trashcan, mounted microwave, basically everything you’d need. And with this place all to myself, I can’t eat a meal without watching some TV on the big screen.
Going up either set of stairs, you’ll pass some of my favorite photographs, both taken on some wild adventures across Poptropica! It’s not Spotted Dragon’s house without some photography.
On the second floor is where the magic happens. It’s a creation station! An easel for painting and a piano for playing. Complete with windows for some natural lighting, and a fan because I need a number one fan to boost my self esteem for when it gets hot. And who doesn’t love house plants? Let’s just hope I remembered to feed the one on the far right…
Going to the third floor, to the left is my trophy room! You may call it self centered, but I call it self love. Awards from every island are kept here (which continues to grow), along with some cool statues I’ve collected. Of course, I have another photo hung up, but I also have a tapestry I bought from another island.
Lastly, we have my bedroom! It’s got everything I need on a late Saturday morning. My cozy bed of course, my dresser, but let’s not forget about my books and computer! The latter I do need for work, though I admit I get distracted with video games all the time.
My bathroom is behind the door in my bedroom, but there’s no need to go in there on a tour… TMI. The rest of the doors in my house are mainly for storage and clutter.
Welp, that wraps things up! Good thing I showed you everything when I did, because a glitch keeps moving my stuff around and sometimes even removing it from my inventory. Ah well.
I hope you enjoyed this behind the scenes glance into my life! Who knows, maybe we’ll be able to interact even more with some of our furniture in the future?
It’s unknown whether this is an original release or a newer adaption from an older island, but if I had to guess, I’d say this is a graybox of Mythology Island, or as someone guessed in the comments of the tweet, an island based off Pompeii (perhaps for an island based on the graphic novels?).
From observation, you can see a few Poptropicans standing to the side of the image. They’re most likely standing there as statues, but they could also represent the victims buried under the ash and pumice of Mount Vesuvius. Also, a broken ionic pillar can be seen at the top, which suggests this may be either Mythology Island or a Pompeii-based island with the Roman and Greek feel. What do you think?
Update: Brave Tomato points out that if you look in the top-left corner above the coin count, you’ll notice a certain medallion that appears to have a lightning bolt in it… the medallion of Mythology Island! Are we in for our next remastered island?
Over on YouTube, Stephanie – Poptropica’s official YouTuber (and possibly the new social media manager, or at least one of them) – has returned for a third livestream about Poptropica Worlds! Catch the archived video below:
The livestream occurred around 3 PM EST (which seems to be the usual time) on Sunday, October 8. As with the other times before, Stephanie gives a few intermittent shout-outs, while also answering a few questions, from viewers who chatted on the live chat during the stream.
In this episode, Stephanie spends the first few minutes recapping her past livestream about customization, plus she does her daily wheel spin and talks to Cliff Housebuff. She confesses that she had a “magical wizard” (presumably another Creator) give her the 15,000+ coins she currently has in her account, and talks a bit about how she started without membership so we could see the difference, and emphasizes that you can always still play the game without membership.
After another quick makeover, and a spicy jellybean, she gets into decorating her house. She goes through the bare-bones version of the house, then scrolls, speaks, and shops her way through the various decor options for wallpaper and furniture. Unfortunately, the stream ended abruptly, most likely due to a technical difficulty. You’ll just have to stay tuned to find out what happens next!
Here’s another recent development: Poptropica is slowly re-doing the thumbnail images on their YouTube walkthrough videos! Here’s what they have so far:
Hmm. It is kind of odd to see Worlds avatars represented for Poptropica Original videos, isn’t it? Plus, the characters seem kind of funky — especially with the beard and long eyelash combo. And the text and bright colors feels rather randomly placed; unlike the previous organizational design of the “Captain Crawfish’s walkthrough” thumbnails.
It’s commendable to see Poptropica try to personalize their video thumbnails more, but perhaps they could do a better job trying to fit with their branding. Thoughts?
On the discussion of decorating houses, Poptropica also uploaded a new video where Stephanie shares her top 10 tips for decorating the ultimate house. Check it out:
If for some reason you can’t watch the video, here are the tips she shared in the video, quoted for you below:
Walls make the house: Wallpaper with patterns like pineapples, polka dots, and stripes, automatically dress up a room with spunk. When using textured walls like ship lap, bricks, and stone, you can make any house look like the interior of a castle!
A home should have a personality: Artwork and knickknacks like a mounted fish, cuckoo clock, or knights armor could really take a room from simple to awesome! Think about your hobbies — surfing, basketball, or playing the sax, perhaps? Let your home speak for itself.
You don’t have to settle for just one look! Mix and match: Just as you’re ever growing your style in clothes, your home style should change too. Maybe you feel like a hamburger light because you’re hungry, or you’re felling fancy with a big chandelier and fireplace. Whatever it may be, it’s your space, so let it reflect you.
Let the outdoors in: Create windows to let the light in, with all kinds of shapes and sizes to fit your decorating needs. And don’t forget to add a little extra greenery with a floor plant, or a flower pot perhaps.
Balance the space: Pairs of things can really pull together a home, for a more cohesive look. Buying in pairs of twos like two windows, two lamps, or two nightstands, can really create space. Groupings like multiple art pieces on one wall, and a rule of threes can also help balance a room by creating a center point for your eye to look at.
Mix up colors and textures: Mixing things up can make for a more interesting space… like how your chairs don’t all have to match. By finding something that brings the room together, or by choosing an artwork piece with multiple colors, you can really pull in multiple types of furniture… or things, or beds, or anything really!
Think outside the box: Who says you can’t have a sofa in your bathroom? Or a bed in the living room? Or even a pool table in your kitchen? If you like it — do it!
Try, try again: Just because something doesn’t look right in one place doesn’t mean it doesn’t work somewhere else. Rearrange furniture to your liking as often as you like, and don’t forget, you can flip positioning too.
Comfort is key: Your home is your haven — make it comfy! Get that comfy couch, or big fluffy bed, or lazy hammock because you earned it. You deserve to relax and enjoy yourself after a big adventure.
Start collecting now: Just because you don’t have everything you want now, doesn’t mean you won’t. Spend the big coins on what matters to you. Maybe you’re an animal person, so an iguana and a fish tank are right up your alley. Or are you a big gamer? In that case, an arcade or computer desk are the way to go. So don’t be afraid to spend on what makes you happy, and don’t forget to get your free coin spin from Captain Scuttlebutt!

That’s it for now… thanks for reading, and of course, pop on!
Remember Poptropica’s first livestream episode earlier this week? Well, it’s back for its second episode, again featuring Poptropica Worlds gameplay narrated by the Creator vlogger we met last time, Stephanie. Check it out below!
Be warned: The first 5 minutes of this video were hit by a disruption of audio technology that resulted in eerie echoing where you can hardly make out what’s being said. However, the problem was solved at around the 5:11 mark.
In this episode, Stephanie plays around with various clothing she’s acquired for her character (Cuddly Dragon), some of which required membership to obtain – including her favorite, the skateboard! She also shows off the Colorizer, which can change your hair and skin tone (though free players are restricted to a small palette). Then she spends some time interacting with the characters on Home Island, and is inspired to do more shopping for more different styles of clothing.
The livestream occurred around 3 PM EST on Thursday, September 28. Throughout the video, Steph gives the occasional shout-out to viewers who chatted on the live chat during the livestream. We’re not told the exact time these livestreams will happen – they just do – so keep your eye out for the next one!
In the next show, which Steph says will be next week (so perhaps this will be a weekly thing?), Steph plans to check out the player house and set up the place. As she puts it, it’s important to “get your style down first!” Following that, she plans to explore one of the islands in an upcoming livestream, so stay tuned for that!
What did you think of this livestream? Did you like it as much as the first episode? What else would you like to see on the livestreams? Share your thoughts in the comments!
