Spreading the Poptropica love with Realms & fan creations

Happy Valentine’s Day from the Poptropica Help Blog! โค We didn’t have a party, but we hope you’re enjoying the sweetenedย color scheme and header – don’t worry, it’s just for today. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Anyway, over on Twitter, Poptropica’s been sharing the love with another batch of remarkable Realms creations – check them out below! (click to enlarge pictures)

Some of these kind of resemble Angry Birds levels, somehow. ๐Ÿ˜› For more infoย on this feature, check out the PHB’s Poptropica Realms Guide!

There’s not much else going on at the moment, but here are some recentย fan creations from the Poptropica community on social media! From left to right: PHB author Brave Tomato’s drawing of characters from the Poptropica comics, a villain Valentine from technobunny16, and DJ_kitty_girl’s custom Dr. Hare doll. (For a villain, Dr. Hare sure is lovable…)

Also, apparently, the Popstorm series is drawn by Poptropicaย artist Jon Pitcher, whoย has the entire collection thus far on a Pinterest board. Here’s what he has to say about it:

As a Poptropica Creator I created this Popstorm series to inspire kids to use their imagination to be as silly and creatively as possible as they develop their own stories and cast of characters. There are some animation tricks quietly sketched into some of these pages. See if you can find them.

And lastly, here’s an unreleased Poptropica comic strip to wrap up this post (nice touch adding in the Diary of a Wimpy Kid movie, by the way).

That’s all for now, but be sure toย catch up on all the latest happenings (and evenย wild theories) in the posts below. Stay popping, Poptropicans. ๐Ÿ™‚

Thinknoodles meets Poptropica publisher & behind-the-scenes!

Hey Poptropicans! Many of you in the Poptropica community have probably heard of Thinknoodles, a YouTuber known for (among other things) his Poptropica walkthrough videos. Well, here’s the kicker: he recently had the opportunity to meet up with Poptropica publisher Jess Brallier, and was able to share with us some of the things they discussed. And here’s a selfie to prove it.

thinknoodles and zeus

Okay, soย neither of them are really cartoon characters. But they did meet up in a coffee shop in New York City after Think received a direct (private) message from @Poptropica on Twitter (run by Poptropica’sย publisher,ย Jess Brallier) inviting him for a chat in NYC. Pretty cool! ๐Ÿ˜€

Prior to meeting up, Think also contacted us here at the PHB asking if there were any questions we had that he could try to work into the discussion.ย Although he couldn’t promise we’d get all the answers, and tells us he can’tย share every detail, here’s what he is able to tell us:

  • After PoptropiCon and Arabian Nights wrap up, they will no longer be splitting islandsย into episodes.ย As previously mentioned, we’llย be having full islands after that!
  • He knows of the next few islands coming up, but isn’tย able to divulge more – thoughย he does confirm thatย Timmy Failure Island isย one of them, as Poptropica tweeted earlier.
  • Regarding one of our suggestions for an island explaining Poptropica’s origins, he says “it’s something they have been working on addressing, and they’ve written a full back story detailing the legend of Poptropica, which we should start seeing in story/comic form soon!”
  • It looks like we also have some answers regarding the Poptropica cartoon/show we’ve been hearing about.ย Think says: “The history of Poptropica should start coming out in the next week or two and is based upon a screenplay that Jeff Kinney wrote around 2 years ago when they were considering an animated television series. I have a copy of it, and it’s really detailed: new characters with illustrations, backstory for each one, history of Poptropica and plot lines for 21 episodes of the series!” However, the screenplay remains confidential.

Wow – that last tidbit about the Poptropicaย origin story sounds like something to look forward to! ๐Ÿ™‚ Thanks for letting us be part of the conversation in this way, Think, and noodle on!

Also, for those wondering about the ownership of Poptropica, they recently explained it with a couple of tweets: “Actually the owner is a company called Pearson. Jeff created Poptropica. He doesn’t own it. Jeff’s the creative genius behind Poptropica. President figures it out as a business, and stays out of Jeff’s way.” The Twitter appears to be run by the Poptropica president/publisher, Jess Brallier.

Speaking of the official Pop Twitter, a couple of new behind-the-scenes pics were recently tweeted!ย Here’s a not-yet-published comic strip in which Oliver and Jorge steal a witch’s broom:

They also asked for some help in voting for which genie design to go for in Arabian Nights: Ep. 3, and responses have mostly been for either Mischief or Macho. Personally, I like Mischief. ๐Ÿ˜›

arab3 genie optionsYou can also see some sneak peeksย (some of which were also tweeted earlier) for the final episode of Arabian Nights in the Daily Pop, which is starting to get back on track with their “daily” schedule!

For more, check out our Daily Pop Sneak Peek Archive, updated monthly. ๐Ÿ˜‰

However, it looks like we won’t get to play Arab Ep. 3 until May at the earliest. Meanwhile,ย PoptropiCon Ep. 3 was recently postponed to March, plus there’ll be a surprise at the end of April, and, despite what Think revealed earlier, Poptropica is now claiming that Timmy Failure Island is “just a rumor”:

Anyway, hope you enjoyed all these behind-the-scenes glimpses at what Poptropica’s cooking up! Stay popping, and for all the Thinkers out there, noodle on! ๐Ÿ˜€

Arabian Nights Island, Comics, Realms

Arab Ep. 3 peeks, more Realms, & PopComics!

Hey PHB readers! Slippery here. As you may know, there are a lot of Poptropica sneak peeks over at Twitter these past few days! Do you want to see them? Here we go!

Our first tweet is a sketch of the third episode of Arabian Nights. Looks like the genie has finally came out of her magic lamp and everyone in the lair looks very surprised to see a genie! I wonder if the lamp beside me also has magic powers… *rubs lamp*

arabnights3peekWell, the rusty old lamp doesn’t work.ย *throws the lamp away*

Speaking of magical genies, Poptropica also tweeted a sneak peek of the genies we might stumble upon in the final episode. Which of them do you like best? Another thing to point out, the genies actuallyย have ears! A Poptropica first. Poptropicans finally have ears – well, the genies at least. Also, you can find this image over onย the Daily Pop!

Who’s excited for the third and final episode of Arabian Nights? Are you excited as I am? I think it’ll have a great ending!

Next, Poptropica posted several new Poptropica Realms creations over onย Twitter! PHB reader Cuddly Knuckle shared his own creationย as well.ย Looking good! Click to enlarge the images.

Hours after the release of GHD Island, Poptropica posted a new Poptropica comicย stripย in whichย Jorge and Oliver find themselves walking down the yellow brick roadย โ€” familiar? They seem to beย strolling toย the beautiful Land of Oz! Check out this funny comic strip:

Poor scarecrow. Who will help him?

Speaking of PopComics, the Creators also tweetedย this sneak peek for the upcoming graphic novel! Oliver’s run into some big trouble with a caveman on a rushing stream of water…

Comics

A Poptropica Cartoon?

Hi Gs,

Well, this pretty much settles it. Poptropica is going to have its own show.

script read

This picture was tweeted from the official Poptropica Twitter with the caption “Poptropica script read????”. The picture above (which the PHB lightened a bit from the dimmer original for more contrast) shows a number of people with labels in front of them (character names from the Poptropica comic/upcoming graphic novel: Octavian, Oliver, Mya, Jorge).

Each person presumably has a script in front of them, and various polished pieces of art that look like something from the comic are hangingย in the backgroundย throughout the picture. I researched a bit and found out that this seems to be a read-through

The read-through, table-read, or table work is a stage of film, television and theatre production when an organized reading around a table of the screenplay or script by theย actors with speaking parts is conducted. Read more

So wait… is Poptropica going to have a cartoon based on the Poptropica Comics?ย

We’ve been seeing a lot of colored and polished artworks from the comic being released on Twitter, but we assumed it was for an upcoming graphic novel (which has been confirmed). And weren’t we supposed to be getting a Poptropica Comic sponsored quest or island this year?

One more thing that may tie it all in – remember my post a while back on the Poptropica animated short? The pitch made by a random studio for a Poptropica cartoon? Has it been in the works for over a year? Only time will tell. This is certainly exciting! Tell me in the comments what you think, and also tell me if you’ll be watching the Poptropica cartoon if it really is coming out!

If you haven’t already, go follow me on Twitter – I post Poptropica stuff, Minecraft stuff, dubstep stuff and more all the time!

Comics, PoptropiCon Island, Sneak Peeks

PopComics Island sneak peeks, P-Con Ep. 3 news & upcoming release dates!

Hey guys! Slippery here.

Poptropica recently tweeted a couple of new sneak peeks, and they look like they’re forย the upcoming (but yet to be officially announced) island based on the Poptropica comics. There’s Oliver and Jorge! I’m not sure whether the girl in the image is Maya since she wears yellow from what we saw in the graphic novel sneak peeksย – orย maybeย she’sย just a test player. Also, that is a very very sad monkey. ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

comic chars

The next image shows the island’s temple ruinsย (relating to this sneak peek of “monkey ruins”) and as you can see, the monkeys are very messy. The Creators also confirmed that the island is now in development, which means we can expect this island next year!

monkeyruins

What do you guys think about the Poptropica Comics Island? I think it’s going to be reallyย awesome. Perhaps all thoseย islands that we’ve seen in the comics will come to lifeย on this one Island adventure!

Speaking of islands in the works, while searching Poptropica’s files, I can also confirm that the final episode of PoptropiConย (which is going to be called Reign of Omegon)ย is in fact in development! Well, there are only two images of the scenes so far, and one of them is not yet done. Some of the items include aย “bow”, “old shield”, “gauntlets”, etc. Uh oh. Omegon has made a big mess in the convention!

Moving along, Poptropica also gave away some upcomingย release dates for 2015!

It seems like the Creators have a lot on their to-do list,ย but I’m sure 2015 will be a great year for Poptropica! Also, I can’t wait for Galactic Hot Dogs Island!

So, that’s the end of the post! Two days until Christmas! Happy Holidays everyone!
