Arab Ep. 3 peeks, more Realms, & PopComics!

Hey PHB readers! Slippery here. As you may know, there are a lot of Poptropica sneak peeks over at Twitter these past few days! Do you want to see them? Here we go!

Our first tweet is a sketch of the third episode of Arabian Nights. Looks like the genie has finally came out of her magic lamp and everyone in the lair looks very surprised to see a genie! I wonder if the lamp beside me also has magic powers… *rubs lamp*

arabnights3peekWell, the rusty old lamp doesn’t work. *throws the lamp away*

Speaking of magical genies, Poptropica also tweeted a sneak peek of the genies we might stumble upon in the final episode. Which of them do you like best? Another thing to point out, the genies actually have ears! A Poptropica first. Poptropicans finally have ears – well, the genies at least. Also, you can find this image over on the Daily Pop!

Who’s excited for the third and final episode of Arabian Nights? Are you excited as I am? I think it’ll have a great ending!

Next, Poptropica posted several new Poptropica Realms creations over on Twitter! PHB reader Cuddly Knuckle shared his own creation as well. Looking good! Click to enlarge the images.

Hours after the release of GHD Island, Poptropica posted a new Poptropica comic strip in which Jorge and Oliver find themselves walking down the yellow brick road — familiar? They seem to be strolling to the beautiful Land of Oz! Check out this funny comic strip:

Poor scarecrow. Who will help him?

Speaking of PopComics, the Creators also tweeted this sneak peek for the upcoming graphic novel! Oliver’s run into some big trouble with a caveman on a rushing stream of water…

That’s all of the updates we have for today! Make sure to check out PHB’s Poptropica Realms guide and the recent post on PoptropiCon’s final episode!

A Poptropica Cartoon?

Hi Gs,

Well, this pretty much settles it. Poptropica is going to have its own show.

script read

This picture was tweeted from the official Poptropica Twitter with the caption “Poptropica script read????”. The picture above (which the PHB lightened a bit from the dimmer original for more contrast) shows a number of people with labels in front of them (character names from the Poptropica comic/upcoming graphic novel: Octavian, Oliver, Mya, Jorge).

Each person presumably has a script in front of them, and various polished pieces of art that look like something from the comic are hanging in the background throughout the picture. I researched a bit and found out that this seems to be a read-through

The read-through, table-read, or table work is a stage of film, television and theatre production when an organized reading around a table of the screenplay or script by the actors with speaking parts is conducted. Read more

So wait… is Poptropica going to have a cartoon based on the Poptropica Comics?

We’ve been seeing a lot of colored and polished artworks from the comic being released on Twitter, but we assumed it was for an upcoming graphic novel (which has been confirmed). And weren’t we supposed to be getting a Poptropica Comic sponsored quest or island this year?

One more thing that may tie it all in – remember my post a while back on the Poptropica animated short? The pitch made by a random studio for a Poptropica cartoon? Has it been in the works for over a year? Only time will tell. This is certainly exciting! Tell me in the comments what you think, and also tell me if you’ll be watching the Poptropica cartoon if it really is coming out!

If you haven’t already, go follow me on Twitter – I post Poptropica stuff, Minecraft stuff, dubstep stuff and more all the time!

PopComics Island sneak peeks, P-Con Ep. 3 news & upcoming release dates!

Hey guys! Slippery here.

Poptropica recently tweeted a couple of new sneak peeks, and they look like they’re for the upcoming (but yet to be officially announced) island based on the Poptropica comics. There’s Oliver and Jorge! I’m not sure whether the girl in the image is Maya since she wears yellow from what we saw in the graphic novel sneak peeks – or maybe she’s just a test player. Also, that is a very very sad monkey. 😦

The next image shows the island’s temple ruins (relating to this sneak peek of “monkey ruins”) and as you can see, the monkeys are very messy. The Creators also confirmed that the island is now in development, which means we can expect this island next year!

What do you guys think about the Poptropica Comics Island? I think it’s going to be really awesome. Perhaps all those islands that we’ve seen in the comics will come to life on this one Island adventure!

Speaking of islands in the works, while searching Poptropica’s files, I can also confirm that the final episode of PoptropiCon (which is going to be called Reign of Omegon) is in fact in development! Well, there are only two images of the scenes so far, and one of them is not yet done. Some of the items include a “bow”, “old shield”, “gauntlets”, etc. Uh oh. Omegon has made a big mess in the convention!

Moving along, Poptropica also gave away some upcoming release dates for 2015!

It seems like the Creators have a lot on their to-do list, but I’m sure 2015 will be a great year for Poptropica! Also, I can’t wait for Galactic Hot Dogs Island!

So, that’s the end of the post! Two days until Christmas! Happy Holidays everyone!

Goldfish Fun ad with Monsters, balloon, blimp icon, & more

Hey Poptropicans! The Goldfish Fun ad has been reincarnated a third time – this time, finding three garden-themed items will get you a three-eyed Monster Costume! 1) The seeds are near the tomato garden, 2) the soil is by the tree, and 3) the shovel is at the tree branch near the fence.

Also, click on the monster by the fence near the Monster Mayhem sign to receive the Monster Follower. (Thanks to Slippery Raptor for the pics & insight!)

Meanwhile, behind the scenes, Poptropica tweeted this picture of of an escape balloon. Whether this has to do with Balloon Boy remains to be seen, but they did respond to one concerned Poptropican regarding Balloon Boy that they’re “just not sure at this point”.

Another possibility is that this could be for the upcoming island based on the Poptropica comics – they did also recently post this experimental snapshot of Jorge (in his pink underwear) on Mythology Island:

Also, Ep. 1 of Arabian Nights (How Bazaar) is now free to download on Android devices. If you need a walkthrough, check out the PHB’s Arabian Nights Island Guide!

By the way, the Creators’ Blog recently updated their favicon (website icon) with the Poptropica blimp, the icon of the Poptropica app – about time they changed from the default Blogger icon. 😛

blimp

Interestingly, especially with the episodic islands, Poptropica has recently been doing away with the iconic yellow blimp – they’ve even confirmed that it won’t appear on GHD Island, which is coming at the end of January. Check out our Galactic Hot Dogs Island page for more info on the upcoming adventure!

Lastly, just a reminder that the PHB’s having a Christmas party this Saturday (Dec 20th), and we’d love to have you join – it’ll be fun! See the invitation post for more details. Stay popping, Poptropicans.

App, Comics, Mission Atlantis Island

Atlantis Ep. 2 free on iOS & looking ahead to 2015!

Hey Poptropicans! For those of you who’ve been holding off on playing Mission Atlantis: Ep. 3 (Out of the Blue) on iOS because it cost money, there’s good news: it’s now free! Just update your Poptropica app on iOS and you’re good to go. If you need help, check out our Mission Atlantis Island Guide!

We also have some official intel stating that Arabian Nights: Ep. 1 and PoptropiCon: Ep. 2 will be coming to the Android app this Wednesday (Dec 10), so there’s that for all you Androiders!

Speaking of the Poptropica app, remember that you can customize your character at the New You shop in the Home scene. There’s not a whole lot right now compared to the online version, but the Creators have tweeted that they’ll be adding more in 2015.

In fact, a number of recent tweets hint at what’s to come next year: for one thing, as mentioned earlier, full (albeit fewer) islands will be returning around late January – “full” meaning no episodes!

Here’s a tweet listing some other projects in the works for 2015: Land (for everybody), connecting the Poptropica app with our online accounts (but not until late 2015), a Kindle app, adding common rooms and multi-player functionality to the appTimmy Failure Island (another sponsored island!)…

…and last but not least, the graphic novel based on the Poptropica comics. In fact, the Creators have shamelessly tweeted yet another page of it, which you can see below:

graphic novel pageRegarding The POPCORN magazine, the December issue will be out sometime this week (sorry for the delay!). Now’s your last chance to send something in – see our Magazines page for more details! Due to time constraints, this will be the end of the series (at least for now), but it’s had a good run. 🙂

Anyway, that’s all the updates (app-dates?) for now – stay popping, Poptropicans. 😛
