In the past few days, Master Mime has been up to mischief and messing about in an unsafe area offering little protection – it looks like a sinister green river – and is that a monster tail sticking out?! o_O

Many of the PHB’s readers (who are very much into mythology) have pointed out that this could be the River Styx. It’s a good thing there’s a boat so you don’t fall into the deep and dangerous liquid below! Thanks to Spider880 for this update alert.

Blog Post Title: Help me
Description: I don’t know who allowed access to this cave but this area is obviously unstable and they didn’t even offer me a hardhat. Besides, what is that weird, green thing in the water?

Up for some magic tricks? [Pssst… it comes with a beard and mustache for your character!] Girls and boys each have different versions of the magnificent ‘Magician’ costume, now available at a Poptropica Store near you!

Thanks for this update alert, Bobitator. And as PHB reader Orange Tummy pointed out, the Creators must be watching and know that we all love facial hair. xD

Also, the stalkers of our Poptropica Help Forums community noticed a fan page on top social networking site Facebook that seems to be from the official Poptropica Creators:

http://facebook.com/Poptropica

Although not officially confirmed to be the real deal, it seems very likely to be [in fact, Jess M. Brallier of Funbrain, is a part of this group!]. It is not known why the Poptropica Creators mentioned nothing about this Facebook fan page on their website Poptropica.com yet. But if you’re already on Facebook, join the hundreds of Poptropica players who have already become fans! (:

Stop by for Issue #9!

…and check out the amazing talent that Poptropicans all over the planet have put out there for the rest of our community. Awesome. 😛

Our ‘Poptropica Poll’ widget to the right side has been updated! The current question asks, ”What do you think of Poptropica’s membership?” (Now’s your chance to let the Poptropica Creators know just what you think of this major game update!)

January 2010’s poll question read, ”How long have you been playing Poptropica?” Here are the results:

Option | Votes | Percentage
2+ years – Experienced | 1,264 | 47%
Almost 2 years! | 420 |
Almost a year! | 281 |
2 – 5 months | 168 |
12 – 15 months | 167 |
16 – 19 months | 114 |
6 – 9 months | 100 |
Just Joined Recently – Newbie | 93 |
Less than a month. | 76 |

Wow, looks like the vast majority of us are old-timers here! According to the poll, around half of those who voted have been around Poptropica for over 2 years. Nice. 🙂

Live. Laugh. Love.
Because life is cheesy!

Mythology Island, Sneak Peeks

Myth…ology Island?

Slanted Fish

The latest PCB post by Shark Boy is hinting that the Creators are working on a completely new island… and they want us to guess what it will be! What can you gather from this sneak peek?

The title of the image sneak peek is ”mythologyChars”, which seems to mean that this mysterious new island will be known as Mythology Island! Therefore the image title is probably short for ”Mythology Island Characters”.

Most of you have probably noticed Hades (a new Poptropica Creator making posts around the PCB) in the sneak peek, with white skin, skull sceptre, skull tiara, and green robes! Looks strangely suspicious… do you think he’s a hero or villain?

To the right of Hades is a Greek/Roman female warrior equipped with a pointy golden spear and golden battle helmet with pink fluffy feathers on top. Her robes are white with a hint of pink. Who do you think she is?

We’re excited to see this ‘Mythology Island’ release in the future – share your opinions about what it might be like in the comments below!

Counterfeit Island

Is Counterfeit Island… counterfeit?

Slanted Fish
Is Counterfeit Island… counterfeit? No, it’s now out to the public – for real, and now best of all, for FREE! But wait, it IS called Counterfeit for a reason…

Binary Bard posted the following on the Poptropica Creators’ Blog (Binary Bard?! Master Mime deserves the honors for this one!):

Counterfeit Island is now online!

The binary numbers translate to ”Beware the Black Widow!” That’s the only spoiler we’ll give here – but if you want more, check out Super De Struguri‘s CI guide by clicking here.
Here are some amazing snapshots from Counterfeit Island! Maybe you can pick up a clue or two from this:
Can you save the day in this crackling canvas caper?

Personally, we think the night-time part was one of the most thrilling and exciting moments. And the inter-island travel to Early Poptropica was awesome! =)

Good luck, and may the Force be with you! xD
